Its a nice shady trail which is decently maintained but will food and get muddy easily. The back end loop was just recently clear cut but the forest stretch is nice as long as you dont mind the mosquitos. This area is fungus diverse and a great place to study mushrooms.

Love this place! Its a nice little trail. Ive been walking it frequently for past year. It does seem a bit neglected..paths are becoming muddy pits, boardwalk is littered with debris- nothing major

This trail was very nice, the only thing I can recommend is they build up certain areas of the land. It was beyond flooded in certain areas, and could not walk around and ended up having to walk through. A total mess. Aside from that, we had a great family day hiking.

At first, this place is very underwhelming. The parking is small, and right away its very.... Small shrubs and rocky/sandy path to a boardwalk. You get a little bit in, and its better. Lots of trees, birds to hear, plants. But then.... It opens up, and it is just breathtaking! The vehicle/horse trails are wonderful to walk. So is the regular walking path. It all loops around. You do have to go back the way you came in to get back to the parking, but holy guacamole is this place stunning! I didnt wanna leave.I came across a snake, some butterflies, a few large bees, and spiders..... I ran into a spider chest high, and was just.... Nope. Done. Bye.Oh, and a cute little turtle. Dont worry. I didnt touch any of them. Too cute to! I did show the turtle its picture, though. LOLOh, and the feather is next to my shoe for size comparison. Also didnt touch. Shoe is a size 9 in mens!

Our first time. We loved the hike, but not all of it was shaded. In the summer, when its hot, sunny, or raining, maybe not so good. Definitely, could flood, on parts of the path. We saw a big turtle, a bald eagle, wild turkey, mama snake, & its baby. There are 4 benches, 3 with a roof. The loop is 4.5 miles. The trail is marked well.

Nice for a short hike (a few miles) because its a small area. But pretty. There are side trails you can choose to add some extra distance but most of them are completely overgrown, so you cant walk all the way through and have to retrace your steps. The main trail (a loop) is well maintained.

Let me start by saying we love Florida outdoors. Run, bike, boat and hike often. This trail has lots of potential and the boardwalk is amazing. But the trail needs lots of love and attention. Very overgrown and barely passable at places.

Very serene. I went bicycling, way nasty and hard in the woods. Bring a friend it can get dangerous.

Reviews are right about poorly marked trails. Dont believe the blue arrows. We all were making an effort to stay aware of trails. Well, very easy to get turned around. W e eneded up having to use maps to get us to a street on the west side of the preserve. Otherwise the trails are great. Gopher tortise and other birds abundant. Just be aware you will likely get turned around/lost!!

What we saw of it was great but got to a point where the path was totally flooded for as far down the path as you could see. We were only about 3/4 of a mile in.

Is this not a great place to come back to over and over again? Bring water and an apple and comfortable shoes! : )

This seems to be a little known park tucked away along the south side of Lake Jesup. Ive lived here 6 years and just walked the trails here a couple weeks ago. Theres a nice parking lot with a trail that heads almost due north for a while, mostly along a boardwalk. Then it opens up into more of a pine flatwoods habitat. It promises to be a very fun place to look for birds and other wildlife.

Great hike! As some have said before, the trail isnt always marked well. In some places I had to walk forward to the next marker to figure out if I was on the right path. The fire breaks look just like the trail. At one point, where the mixed hardwood meets the pinewood flats, the arrow went the wrong direction.... it wasnt until I was in someones backyard that I realized the mistake. Overall, a great hike!

I loved this trail and yet gave only 3 stars. The trail marking is really bad. We got lost because of that. There were not many hikers and we were scared.

Trail markers need to be much more clearly marked. There are a ton of forks in the trail, mist of which are not marked.
