This is an amazing little park! It has changed a lot over the years as I used to play here a ton when I was a kid. I certainly miss the old gazebo but the work theyve done on this part certainly makes for it.

Very nice, small clean park with a fun ropes course jungle gym, slide, sings, splash area. My 3yo had a great time! Id say the play area is suited to kids roughly 5 and under. Good seating areas with plenty of shade. Nice bathrooms.

The new design is very family friendly. Lots of places to social distance and enjoy being outside!

This park is great for younger kids/families. Plenty of places to sit, a lot of shade, and a smaller sized playground. There is a small splash pad for littles to run through. A lot of available parking as well.We also like that you can easily walk to Parisi for coffee or Strang hall for lunch.

I love this park! What a gem. I kind of want to keep it a secret because its so beautiful and pristine. I hope visitors keep it clean and show respect for the haven it is.

Revitalized and worth it! Tranquil setting and my kids (12, 7) loved the playground with their cousins. Great place to support local businesses and then eat!

We love the new Thompson Park. It has water features, lots of seating and picnic areas, and even wifi! We recently attended a KC Symphony concert in at the new stage. We live near by and often walk to the park and then on down into old OP to grab dinner.

The park is always clean, as are the restrooms. Parking is good and is walking distance to restaurants.

The newly constructed Thompson Park is truly a bright and shining spot in Downton OP. After a bit of controversy regarding the handling and teardown of the old park grounds, I can guarantee visitors will find themselves enjoying the offerings of the new park. Theres an abundance of interesting seating areas among the mature trees, the unique playground area is neat but on the small side, and the shelter and barbeque area provide a very inviting place to picnic. There is a neat alcove that offers WiFi and 110v outlets for public use as an outdoor work area.My only complaint is the obvious lack of trash and recycling cans, and I only hope the city will add these receptacles as the park welcomes visitors for the summer.

Beautiful area. We took family pictures with our dogs here last Sunday! Very picturesque regardless of the time of year. My only additional thought would be to put more trash cans around the edge (like near the benches or by the roundabout) because it seems like all of the trash cans are towards the middle. It makes it easy on people with animals or kids and it may prevent some of the litter that I saw (which was very little)

Not too elaborate but there is some nice historic landmarks, statues, and walking paths. We bring our dog here often to walk around. Theres a couple tasty food joints next door as well. They also do childrens movies and craft fairs from time to time.

This is a small park, but it is easy to truly enjoy the tall, shady trees and green grass. Lots of picnic tables and easy walk to historic Old Town

We attended the weekly Sunday Overland Park Civic orchestra concert in the park. It was a lovely evening and wonderful music with an audience of all ages present.

Under massive reconstruction, I look forward to the new park.

I recommend you come here to catch: worms and fecal coliform bacteria, which are known to cause cramps, diarrhea, intestinal illness, and serious kidney disorders in humans.Good place for a walk on the pavement ONLY. DO NOT PLAY IN THE GRASS AT ALL!! Due to the apartment complex people letting their dogs defile public property and not pick-up after their dog. The dogs have destroyed many of the public beds with their waste. The trees in the tree island are dying!This park needs to be a fenced in park that blocks the apartment people from bring their dogs over to defile it, or a complete ban on dogs in the parks (I think the police would love that, because they could easily get their ticket quota quickly if dogs became banded from the park).

Paid for Overland Park, KS city personnel to bring the tables to the shelter and that was not done even though it was paid for in advance to the city. Had to do it ourselves.
