Great place to tube or just hang out by the water. You pay a parking fee but its well worth it for the rangers, clean up and bathrooms they provide. Come early on the weekends!!
I love kayaking or floating the Clackamas with friend and family. Its nice to watch the wildlife and just to relax.
Fun day on water. Good float with couple light rapids. Swim spots along the way.
We enjoy the river every year... Floating with family and friends making great memories....I cant think of a better way to spend a warm summer afternoon then in the Cool Waters of the Clackamas River. The wildlife that you see along the way is beautiful please be respectful and give them their space .lots of cranes and geese and ducks along the way. If youre lucky enough you get to see a bald eagle flying above. The homes upon the cliff sides are amazing to look at, but please be respectful... please pack out what you pack in. The parking lot can get full so if you want a closer spot to launch your raft or inner tube on the boat ramp you might want to get there early. Due to the covid-19 to play structures are closed down but there are plenty of picnic tables and covered areas for family gatherings and barbecuing. The cost to get into the park is $6. They also offer campgrounds throughout the park above..Also the picturesque scenery of Mount Hood as you are floating down the blue rivers of the Clackamas is Beautiful..
The scenery is beautiful. The river is not too deep, Id like to guess that it varies from 1ft of water to 10ft of water at the deep end. The current also isnt very strong so you dont have to worry about being swept away. Keep in mind that you need a life jacket if you are in any kind of raft or floating device that carries more than one person. You do not need a life jacket if you are in a single person intertube. No Alcohol is allowed. Family friendly destination.
Beautiful place to exercise.
I love floating on the Clackamas
Great place to go tubing down the river!! Awesome!!
The whiteclaw is always one step ahead of you, grab a trash bag at the boat ramp!
Great float. Not too intense we took our 3,5 and 7 year olds. Took about 5 hours. We stopped a couple times to swim. It was fun, well be back to float the river again from Barton down.
Pristine and calm water. Perfect place to swim. Its also a good spot to land your raft for a lunch or snack break.
We float through here on our way from Barton to Carver. Its fine - water is slow and the river is actually pretty wide here so it doesnt get crowded on hot summer days.Only bad thing is that theres not much of a beach to stop and play at. Plus, most of the land around here is private property anyway.
This was such a peaceful float. We went on a weekday and it was blissful, I think on a nice weekend it might be crowded.
Put it on your bucket list . Pic is of the Clackamas river along the Carver curves winter 2014.
This is an annual float stop. Relax and enjoy the drift. There are also trash bags and stops along the way. But some people can be obnoxious and loud when drunk; not always a kid friendly float. Otherwise, great place to relax.
Such a fun river to tube. Barton to Carver - take 2 cars leave 1 at Carver and drive up to Barton to get in the river.
Best and only floating path Ive done so far!
Great float or kayaking! Simply beautiful area
The river in the summer on a hot day is great for floating down river with friends
Fantastic. Guided fishing trip with Bob Toman! Best guide ever and so much fun.
Very scenic
Beautiful area, nice place to fish
You gotta love the Clackamas. Bald Eagles, fish jumping.
At one time, before the invasion of domestic foreigners, this was a wonderful, relaxing way to spend ones time. The float from Milo McKiver State Park to Carver Park was awesome.90% of the river bank is private property. Even though the county provides trash bags for all river users, a huge majority of them dont want to deal with bringing their refuse out so they leave it on the private property where they stop. I only float Feldheimer to Barton so I only have to pull two bags of trash out.
Beautiful place!!
They rented us a boat when there was about 6 inches of water in the river. When we got stuck and came back they pleaded ignorance. When we called before going they said that conditions were ideal.Let the buyer beware!
Actually visited this place for work, we were treating for garlic mustard. Nevertheless it was a beautiful area and I wish I could go back but its private property.
Very peaceful and relaxing with friends
Love this place! The clackamas county parks do a great job with trash pick up
