Love this park, but Oakland wont spend any of the money, we approved over the last ten years, to fix holes in the swing area. Dangerous and ugly. The beautiful pond is now covered with muck and reeds. The old west themed play area is about to collapse. Very sad. Still worth a visit. Wheelchair enabled, basketball court, sports area. Grass is green. Make Oakland Fix our Park!
I liked the lake with the geese. The Mountain Blvd parking was convenient but would probably be more challenging when the elementary school opens. The skate ramp was a nice touch but small. If somewhat steep walking with no rails is a challenge, enter from the Moraga side. The tables were not clean at all so bring a tablecloth and towels to sit on.
Parks are wonderful. I was invited to a socially distancing picnic on a Saturday. We were nearly alone at the park when youd think it would be most busy.Well, from 6 feet away you cant hear your friend over the roar of traffic. It turns out to be right next to a busy freeway. So many better parks in the bay area.
Something for everyone to enjoy at this lovely park. Grab some sunshine and fresh air, but the restrooms are nonexistent, so bring some camouaflage (or head over to the Safeway next door).
A large park with convenient parking, bathroom facility, and 3 different play areas for different aged children. There is also a duck pond and event center. lastly a sports field and skate ramp for older youth. Its located next door to the Montclair commercial district, easy access to a coffee shop and supermarket. As a parent you will appreciate the coffee
A nice baseball outfield to play various sports. There is also a small-scaled skateboard ramp for practicing different skateboard techniques. The surrounding area has some nice restaurants and boutique stores. On the weekend, there is a cozy farmers market to get fresh produce and prepared meals. Overall, this out of the way enclave is a nice place for a weekend getaway.
The water in the pond was filled with trash and severely in need of attention. Looks as though it hasnt had any attention!!!
It is a park for everyone, toddlers to adults. Theres play equipment for toddlers and grammar school kids. You can bring a lunch or barbeque. Bring a ball and shoot baskets. Lots of turtles in the pond... And sometimes you can see geese.
Wonderful old school, well kept classic American public park. Watch out out for crafty little gnomes
Very clean. Very peacefull. Very safe
The park is adequate. Lots of places to explore, but the budget cuts really affected to once dreamy look of TV he place.
Its okay park didnt see a parking lot
Beautiful park
Little lake in the center of the park makes all the difference.
Great park! The play structures are fun and safe. The pond is a little murky but there are a few koi and some turtles that live in it so it cant be that bad. Its on a very busy street, and cars dont always want to slow down for you to cross, so go slow and be careful. Only one crosswalk has flashing signals.
I like this place kids have a lot fun
Great place to bring your kids if you want them to see homeless in the wild and not on the streets. If you love the smell of piss come to this park
The animals there are treated very poorly, especially the turtles. There are no rangers around. Today I saw a family feeding the geese, and the geese got increasingly aggressive. The turtles have barley any space to lie, and often have to pile on top of each other. Though I can’t confirm, I did hear there were some chickens once abandoned at the park. Lastly, there was a creepy old man watching us, and there was no one to report it to. The least they could do is have more signs informing the public about the matters, or enforce them.
This is a nice city park close to Montclair shopping and cafes. The pond with its ducks, geese and turtles is the focal point. The baseball field, half pipe skateboard feature, childrens playground, tennis courts, picnic tables, tall shade trees and bathrooms makes it a favorite for many locals. You can find parking nearby.
Beautiful! I plan to take my daughter there more often.
Great little park - lots to do and see for all ages (theres even a mini ramp for skateboarding!) And nicely situated next to all the little Montclair shops. Perfect place to kill a few hours with the little ones. As usual though the public restrooms are pretty gross...
Very friendly my son loves to see the fish and turtles in the pond
Great place to play for kids.
Pretty and qyuiet space in an urban setting
Clean,spacious and kid friendly
Nice place to play tennis.
Great shades park with lots of space. Beware of duck poo!
An Amazing park!!! Beautiful and open with ducks and turtles...
This park is great for school promotions, I love it
Nice tennis
Easy access to Montclair Elementary School.
A good park quiet
Cute, fun cool playground stuff, duck pond
I take my niece here every now and then. I grew up in the area and this was always my go to park. I used to catch crawfish with hotdogs or gum attached to a stick. The playgrounds are really nice. The bathrooms are disgusting. That pretty much sums up the park.
Good for tennis, but only a few courts
The kids and I call it Goose Poop Park, but we love it.
Nice small local park left unchanged for most parts which is a good thing.
Lies of things to do for the whole family. Usually lots of parking available.
Not the cleanest place, but we had fun on the skate ramp.
Nice park to take you kids!
Softball!
Is a nice place!
Ok park, can be dirty at times and over ran with some of Oaklands homeless
Needs to clean up trash
Great place for young kids to play.
No dogs is the only downside.
