Such stunning views! Would love to walk around here some more. The Drift wood is incredible natural art, and watching the ships, barges, boats and jets was fascinating! Also on a fairly clear day you can see the Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

This was one of the most AMAZING BEAUTIFUL SPECTACULAR SUNSETS EVER!!The way the evening sun lights up the waves as they crash against the logs was a spectacular show...

This is the small parking area above the beach. There are about 6 parking spaces and access is through a few mostly worn through gaps in the brush. There is no developed access but the narrow trails are walkable. There is no disabled or reduced mobility access outside of the area adjacent to parking. Less than able bodied individuals will probably need assistance. The beach is mainly rocky but has a maybe 20 foot area of flattish sand at low tide. The is a good distance going South along under the cliffs. But watch your tides as there is NO access up the cliff face if you get trapped by an incoming and high tide.

Cool place to walk around and see the beach. Can take some pretty cool pictures on the concrete wall and drift wood that washes up. Check the tide before you go however. During high tide you wont be able to do much.

Very nice beach to watch a beautiful sunset. We saw orcas, rabbits, a bald eagle, and it was a very peaceful area. Definitely a great stopping point if you are in the area!

Live the bug waves and awesome sunsets here lots of bdriftwood and pull outs for parking. Live the while atmosphere here with all the little beach homes on the water. Very beautiful quaint little stretch of waterfront. The roadway floods a little during the rainy season here and there but havent yet seen the road closed. Uts usually no hassle to get through. As I said big waves relative to it being in the sound.

Clean, fun and beautiful. Theres always the best breeze youll feel better than anywhere else on the island.

Very nice place with lots of open space. Three main sections. Camping, fishing, ocean, and lake. Okay so 4 really. But the open field have eagles and other birds flying around. They have lots of build in grill sites. They have picket tables. One one side they have a dock for people to jump and also fish off of. It has three benches with tables in the dock. Also across is the swimming lake side it has parts sections off where it gets deeper ect. Also tables and grill spots as well. A shower for public use and bathrooms then a hiking trails all throughout and across about 20 feet is the ocean side. And it is normally windy. They also have trails on the beach side that will curve the mountain and you can see deception pass bridge and get to a small beach there as well. I actually saw some surfers around that area. Place is dog friendly as well and does require a discover pass. 10$ a day or 30$ a year

West Beach is a great place to park and watch the sunset. Depending on the time of day and the weather, you can see some of the most breath taking views from the island. It can be a lovely place to plan a romantic picnic, as you sit on the driftwood, while watching the sun set. If you plan on going on a walk with your dog or anyone for that matter, remember to check the tide tables before you go.

Peaceful and quiet place to walk. A bit rocky, so wear good shoes. Almost always a great sunset!

One of our favorite places to watch the sunset on the island... Or ever changing cloud beauty every day, all day. Then turn around. The view behind the cameraman here is wetlands and bird sanctuary. Amazing bird and wildlife photography opportunities!

Small area but beautiful view.

Sunset Beach has been my favorite beach on Whidbey Island for decades. Its narrow, completely under water at high tide, theres rocks, sand, tons of driftwood and lovely bits of broken shells. There are no amenities, no picnic tables and no trash cans. You pack out what you take in. And its one of the cleanest beaches on the island. The view is a direct shot down the San Juan de Fuca Strait to the Pacific Ocean bracketed by the Olympic Mountains to the south and Canadas San Juan Islands to the north. Well named, the sunsets here are stunning. On windy days this is a favored spot for wind surfing.

Love this beach, the wall of earth along the beach is great to carve a message with your love.

Beautiful afternoon on Whidbey Islands West Beach. The eagle about 60 feet away (counting the pole height) agrees.

One of the best places near Oak Harbor to go for sunsets. Parking is free and space to park is limited but usually not full. Its always windy so I recommend bringing a jacket. There is plenty of beach for a good workout. Its probably the sandiest beach in the area, but you can expect rocky portions so I wouldnt go running barefoot. There are houses and private property nearby so you just need to be mindful of that.

Not develoed but its my favorite sit-alone-quiet place. Less populated. Im always curious of the grafitti currently there. I enjoy it there. When stormy weather comes, I love to watch & photograph the waves.

New Years Day 2020 at the tail end of West Beach past Joseph Whidbey park. A storm came through night before and this morning the surf was still strong. Beautiful.

I frequently go to this park. Ive seen a Grey Whale, three resident Bald Eagles... obviously a family. I took my granddaughter last Saturday to play in the tide pools. Its a short walk from where I park and thats important since I am disabled. Once on the beach I can sit in the sand and bury my toes in it. My granddaughter had so much fun she took off all her clothes and played in the tide pools....p.s. shes 2.

Beautiful views. Not a lot of people. If you go at low tide there are some tide pools and a sandy beach. Whales are sometimes seen off shore.

Been to a lot of beaches around the globe. On a warm sunny day this is one of the most beautiful beaches in the US. Also graced with a great air show from the local F 18s from the air force base next door.

My mothers favorite beach. Doesnt have the crowds of city beach. Lots of rocks for her kid (me) to toss out into the waves and great views of the big ships moving cargo and people around the world can almost always be seen in the distance.None of the amenities of being on a beach in the city, no restrooms and such, but its easy to walk down along the shoreline to get a fairly secluded section and only get the occasional passerby.Low tide is the times I remember best.

Its always interesting to see the artwork. Creative geniuses at work here! Its an enjoyable beach to stroll through and throw rocks.

This is a beautiful sandy beach along the nw side of the Island. Were you can watch the navy jets run there course. This is a road side beach access. Ther are plenty of shops and restaurant s with in a mile and a couple on the beach.

One of my favorite spots

We call this sunset Beach. Cars park here at sunset like at a drive-in movie. Nothing more than parking and slightly rugged beach access. The beach is great at low tide with three miles of fairly secluded beach (to the South).

Ppl do not keep dogs on leash here be wary responsible dog owners. Park is in need of love, but still beautiful views just keep an eye on the tide and ur watch. Dont get caught out there on cliff side having to swim back. Maybe check tides online beforehand.

Clean up the graffiti, and Id rate it higher. Great views and beachcombing.

Beautiful peaceful beach. Often times people have things build out of the drift wood along the shore. Gorgeous view of the mountains and surrounding islands! Favorite spot to meditate.
