Windjammer Park is a great place to walk and get some exercise. You can walk in the beach of on the wide variety of paths they have available. Lots of activities and clean restrooms . You definitely cant ask for much more from a park! Its awesome!

We are there at every given chance and it never gets old! The grass fields are almost endless! My girl can run for miles!

This park has changed so much as Ive grown. Its currently a great place for kids and families to get outdoors while being safe and distancing.

Great place to relax, go for a walk or watch the waves. Love to walk my dogs here, however quite a few people have their dogs off leash. So I cant always take my dogs there. Needs to be patrolled for this

This has got to be one of my favorite. Beaches by far. It wasnt crowded . Lots of seashells ( mussels and clams). They have a really cool water park and playground area next to it. We will be frequent visitors!

It’s a good place to spend time with kids. Lots of open spaces and benches for picnic. Very well maintained park. Water is clean & clear.

Very nice space with a small tide pool, walking path, picnic tables, and benches overlooking the harbor. Has basket ball courts and bathrooms. Nice beach with calm water.

Great variety of walking on beach and boardwalk and pavement. Wide variety of birds, and people of all ages.

New water park is great with enough room for a lot of kiddos! Police patrol on bikes every 30 to 60 minutes, a small restroom nearby and a lagoon with a dock to jump from. There is great beach access. The parking could be better.

Oak Harbor recently completed a huge renovation of this part of its waterfront. Its a massive improvement and they created a wonderful space for individuals and families to spend some time enjoying the waterfront. Lots of space, excellent access to bathroom facilities, sports courts, and outdoor kitchen spaces available for booking.

I love this place, I miss how it used to be and Ill probably never get to see them replace it refurbished.

Well maintained beachfront park. There are a couple small areas for kids to play and the beachfront is extensive. There is a small covered facility to eat lunch, some public bathrooms, and a water park that was not turned on this year for obvious reasons. There is also a small saltwater pond that I see kids playing in so if thats your thing then go to town.

OMG this place could not be BETTER if you love swimming there is a saltwater swimming area. There is a SPLASH pad. If you have children they will LOVE it! You can also walk around the beach! Im honestly impressed by this place it is AWESOME!

This place is absolutely amazing and beautiful. Very clean and well kept. My two dogs love going there even if they do need to stay on leashes. There are at least two childrens play areas, and an adorable book walk.

Trails to hike, a lovely beach, and beautiful birds to enjoy. Whats not to like. Ample parking as well.

We loved it! One of the amazing parks we saw while returning from Orcas island to South. We are not sure if the park is new but great ocean view, kids enjoyed playing in park, water. Accessible easily from highway and lot of options for food near by.

I grew up going to this park, this is a great place to bring your kids too

GREAT new addition to Oak Harbor. A park-like setting with beach access for picnics, lunch breaks, strolling the beach and walking the dog.

I think if you are in Oak Harbor, Whidby WA that you should take at least one walk on the shore at zwindjammer Park. Great park, beach, park (grass and benches) and shore. All shores here have sand, rocks and shells.

Came into park intrance. Almost broad sided by beginner driver. its like driver thought it was funny that it startled my My wife and I. We had a nice dinner 35th anniversary. Be careful and use caution when coming here. Other park is very clean nice place to walk.

Excellent place to launch kayaks, paddle boards or walk along the beach. Wonderful water park for the littles and fun playgrounds!

Nice breeze here. plenty of room to walk. unfortunately they built a water treatment plant in the middle of downtown oakharbor here at this park.

Great play areas for children. Beautiful place. One of my favorite places to go. Clean public bathrooms.

Beautifully done! Park is amazing! Only a whiff every now and then. Just get that poop dryer dialed in so it does what its supposed to do and 5 stars no problem.

Lots of space for children of all ages to run and have a blast, its not slippery, its safe,its near the beach and a board walk and a little lake kinda area that kids were swimming in too

This is a great family park. Swim, basketball, baseball, playground, toddler erea, walking path, beach breathtaking view...Just a really cool place to relax.

I love walking my dog down here when I can on beautiful mornings. Only downside it this giant beautiful building being a water cleansing facility. Great that we have one, but in my opinion… would’ve been a better spot for a community gym or maybe a pool...

Very relaxing, and pleasant to do my morning or noon walk, about every 5 steps, your view of the place, is so breath taking, and peaceful. God surely have Blessed this place, Whether your looking in land our out, all is just so beautiful.

Was a great place for a walk along the water close to downtown...until they closed it down, and starting ripping it up. Waiting for improvements to be made on a park that didnt seem to need any.

My littles (3, 5, and 7) love all the renovations done here! Even with the water being turned off at the splash park for the season, they did a great job still having it be a fun and functional playground to run around in. All three love going to every page of the book on the story trail, the oldest reading the words while the other two make sound effects and get ready to race to the next page. The way this is spread out is really nice too because we dont always have to be in the middle of a huge group.During the summer, they always wanted to play in the water. My littlest didnt necessarily like being splashed so she would run up and down the river pretending to be Queen Elsa making mini icebergs to run on.Overall, love the renovations done!

Awesome park with lots of open space. My kid thoroughly enjoyed football.

All of the Dutch heritage was destroyed during its renovation, and the waste water facility the city installed makes the park smell badly. Now, its filled with ugly post-modern rusted steel structures that have no cultural significance to the islands history.

Beautiful beach, big enough to have your own space, plenty of parking and a beautiful view.

This park used to be an amazing waterfront destination, but its clear the city hasnt spent a dime on upkeep or maintenance in the past 10 years and it really shows. My daughter was really disappointed most of the playground equipment was either missing, boarded up, or rusted away.

Fun for all ages! There are nice sidewalks and loads of little parts along the path for the kiddos.

The park is new and modernized. Has a water park for kids. Lots of places to walk, relax and .cook out. Will need to dress warm in the evening time.

It doesnt feel as warm and welcoming as the old park, havent seen it yet in the summertime it might feel different then

Its a nice place but theres Riff Raff from the transfer station for buses that use the restroom for doing drugs. Its a beautiful Park that overlooks Oak Harbor Bay and theres a walking path from the college to the other end of town that has a pleasant stroll

Although this park is located next to the new sewer plant, it has been revamped and is very nice for both adults (walking trails) and kids (a playground and in the summer, a water park). The city cleaned up this area quite nicely.

I like the extension of the park in oak harbor..there are some areas (like the shipwreck water park) that dont allow dogs, but you can still do a nice long stroll alongside the bay with your 4 legged furry friend. And there are lots of toilet stops along the way if your walking with children or elder friends. Nice views, and some lovely picnic spots as well.

Cute little park to let the kids run around, explore and get their wiggles out! We usually stop anytime we are in the area! The kids absolutely enjoy it and thats what counts!

What an awesome place for kids to play. A spray park, picnic tables, by the ocean. Not much of a beach but there is a lagoon that refills with each tide I suppose. Free parking, free park. Bring a picnic and enjoy all the fun the kids can have.

I like the renovations, the childrens story trail was an adorable touch, would like to see a second story added in the remaining spaces. The concrete rocks to play on at the splash park is really nice, it allows a space to learn how to play safe. But, nothing was done for the lagoon, and there is not a whole lot for teens to do there.

My kids loved the splash pad! The new park is great. There is a story trail to walk. The lagoon looks in better condition too. Very happy with the results of our new park!

Theres always nice open spots to relax in, bathrooms are plentiful, and they have a nice water park thing.

I grew up here, so it was pretty neat to go back at the age of 50 and see the place. The city park is certainly much nicer than it was when I was growing up. Plenty of well maintaned grass, nice play areas for the kids. Disappointed to see that the baseball fields werent very well maintained. New infield dirt is needed as well as dugouts. The Outfield needs to be manicured badly.

Very disappointed. They removed grass and trees, and replaced them with cement. The water recycling system still smells. The park has only four toilets for the entire park. Really? As a citizen of Oak Harbor, I feel ripped off. If you rebuild a park with a water recycling system, we should at least be able to water the whole park .The new splash park is great, but no shade or grass for people to sit and enjoy. Just cement. Baileys Playground keeps in the spirit and tradition of the Park. Overall, I think it was a WASTE and MISUSE, of funds payed by the taxpayers of this community.

Beautiful view of the bay! There is a basketball court, playground, swimming hole and waterpark! There is even a large grassy area to have a picnic! Newly built as of July 2019, this is a great place to spend with kids of all ages. There are plenty of pokemon gyms and poke stops too.

Windjammer park is where the city holds its outdoor events. It has a small recreational area for kids near the beach. The park is known for its large grassy areas and is mostly used for carnivals and car shows. It definitely stays breezy being adjacent to shoreline.

Great view mainly. Fireworks in this area are the best. I counted 26 communities that were doing thier own fireworks all around this bay this year.And there is alot of festivities in this area.

Just remodeled an destroyed a lot of what was unique about the park an in the middle a water treatment plant. My daughter got married there. And now the structure no longer exists!!

Beautiful park with lots of open space and excellent views of the bay. And the splash park is sure to be a boon. My major problem, is that the park is hidden away. I would have had no idea it was there, if not for a friend who had been there previously.

Dont go for the sights anymore since the plant came in . I liked going before it came when the windmill was up. And of course the beautiful baseball fields watching the kids in a safe invitoment. I hear the fields will disappear in a couple of years. I m saddened and angry by that. But its not up to us anymore.I would give it 5 stars for the senery but a 2 star due to the plant. Wish the city would just leave it alone.I stay clear of it totally unless I clean for my clients who live near by.

This lovely waterfront park has been rebuilt including the play areas. There are now food pavilions with nice outdoor benches and new waterless toilets next to the paved path. The park is a block south of Burger King and Wendys and two blocks south of Safeway and Walmart and a strip mall.

This place is going for a great REVAMP, I could not wait to see it open in June. Lots of things for kids to appreciate, and finally a water park here in OH.Pros: its by the water, close to everything. Literally everything, like resto, grocery, gas station, coffee shops.Cons: by the beach so it could get chilly, also there seems to be an increasing influx of homeless activity around the area so things might get a little shady. Im hoping for not.
