The views are beautiful here! So much room to spread out and enjoy the sun. In the park as a whole, you have a river, the Puget Sound, two lakes, and a couple of islands. There is a designated swimming area at Cranberry Lake, with restrooms and an outdoor shower to rinse off. We cant wait to come back :)

Our family loved it! We have never been to a place where there is a beautiful beach with driftwood on one side and about 100 feet away there is a gorgeous Cranberry lake with a nice swimming area. Very family friendly. We would definitely come back.

Unlike the north beach, the west beach is more of a beach. Mix of sand, gravel and pebbles, it is a much longer beach, but theres no view of the bridge. Its great for day camping, and when the weathers good, youll see loads of families with grills and such. Being on the western side, it is a great place to catch the sunset. Ample parking is an added plus. Just be ready for swarms of flies when kelp and (and on occasion, dead jellyfish) wash ashore.

You can hike, swim, fish, kayak or just enjoy scenery! Wonderful place! One if my favorite state park near Seattle.

It was very busy today but beautiful one of my favorite places on Earth. My kids had a blast we had a picnic through walks and rocks in the water loved looking at the bridge and saw an eagle. Perfect place for kite flying. Beautiful scenery great place to camp.

AWESOME views!! Great place to see Whales and a great sunset. The beach is clean, has plenty of parking and has public bathrooms. They are very clean. The only thing that would make it better would be if we were allowed to build a fire.

Beautiful area in lower loop. Views of cranberry lake and the ocean. Bathrooms are pretty far apart otherwise Id give 5 stars. Low flying aircraft may drive some people nuts but it didnt bother us too much.

Beautiful beach. Nice long stretch of beach for walking or beach combing. A separate roped off area for swimming also available which looks nice for families with small children. Saw several whales. There was a food truck with great tacos. Picnic tables available and public restrooms. Plenty of parking.

As part of the Deception pass state park, west beach is one of many beaches you can visit.West beach offers a large parking area and direct access to the beach. There is a paved walkway running along the beach for some distance.Bathrooms and concessions are on site.The beach itself is a mixture of sand and ocean polished rock. It is very enjoyable to sit on a blanket and let the kids build sand castles.

Washingtons biggest state park. Lots of fun.

The beach is nice. Fun views of the bridge. Nice trails. Worth bringing a kayak or canoe to go in the water.

This place is the western part of the state park. Gorgeous place to have a picnic, swim, and relax. Fresh sea air from the pacific and lots of parking spaces. Theres also a separated side where you could do some fishing. Anyway it is a nice part of the park you could bike or hike to if you are in a different side.

A must stop State Park, and the most lovely beach. Sand, pebbles, multicolor rocks, driftwood, wildlife! Especially cool at low tide, as the tide pools are full of little crabs, anemone, & filtering barnacles. Please use trails & dont climb the trees. :)

A very well maintained park that always provides a beautiful place to wander around in. The quiet season in winter is no exception! Plus my dog likes to run after the waves and gets tuckered out quick on the big stretch of sandy beach.

This place has everything for a family to enjoy a weekend getaway. Camping, fishing, swimming. Beautiful 360 degrees.

If it wasnt so busy we would have loved it. Of course it was busy though, its a destination. A very beautiful one. Lots of trails, and walking the bridge was a thrill. A good beach for finding glass and other shore treasures. Had a great time!

Picnic and many shorter hikes, multiple habitats on a hike, safe, comfortable, kid and senior friendly. Dont forget the sunscreen! Wonderful beautiful day out for the whole family!

Crowded. A lot of algae in the water. Makes the water look dirty when swimming in it. Water was warm but it was a hot day.

Dont forget you coat even if it is nice out you can always expect a stiff breeze . found a few nice rocks for the tumbler with the grand kids.we all love this beach.

Beautiful no matter what the weather - sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy. Restrooms were clean.2 bald eagles nesting in a tall tree above the other (closed) bathrooms by the main beach parking area.

Beautiful! This beach is a little more crowded than others, but its beautiful and adjacent to the campground. We particularly enjoyed the driftwood forts that were there and provided much entertainment to our youngers.

Beautiful campsites, hot showers and flush toilets. Electrical and water sites available. Pump out station within the Park. Lovely Beach area as well as ocean views and sandy/rock shoreline along the East end of Juan de Fuca Straight. Many walking trails. Excellent place for all ages!

Very pretty. Lot of people but the campsites are done so you dont feel like you are on top if each other.

We love Whidbey Island and Deception Pass is not to be missed. It was extremely busy when we visited on a weekend day. There were no parking spots to be had at all! So we drove to West Beach area and were pleasantly surprised. Not only did we find a spot but the views and beach access are lovely. Driftwood everywhere. Be prepared for crowds.

What a wonderful place to relax and recharge your spirit.If you get here early enough in the day, you can explore a few tide pools and enjoy low tide. There are miles of beaches to walk and if you come later in the day, the sunset will bring tears to your eyes, as it is so beautiful.There plenty of of driftwood logs to sit on and plenty of places to find shade on a hot day.there is ample parking and places to change as well as many outdoor toilets.There are fees to get in. It will cost you $10/day and $30 for a season pass, which is valid at any state park in Washington. You cannot transfer the pass as you must write your license plate number on the pass. As one who purchased the season pass, I can only say it is well worth it as it lets you into many awesome parks.

The best place in WA for me: only you and nature!Every time we come here this place never looks the same!!

A beautiful PNW state park, complete with swimming hole, ocean beaches, plenty of hiking and even an amphitheater and outbuilding for your wedding or family event.

Great park but being in a top gun movie all day all night takes away from the camping experience. Although the kids loved it.

This is one of the most beautiful parks weve visited: beautiful waters, beaches and forests. Very nicely maintained camping areas and toilet/shower facilities are clean and well tucked into the trees and undergrowth. Junior rangers offer programs on water & land wildlife and forests, making it a fun place for kids and adults. The pathways and roads are also well maintained.

Deception Pass State Park West Beach is a nice beach and park to visit and photograph.Nice walking trails and picnic tables.

The Salish Sea is one of the most beautiful areas in North America. This is the best place to check it out. Ill be back here next summer.

Simply beautiful. Hit it at low tide for some great tide pool rock life, high tide for some salmon fishing in August, or just hang out at the beach to soak up some sun, build sand castles, and create drift wood fortresses. Be sure to stay for the most amazing sunsets youve ever seen!

Surrounded by pines, rugged shoreline, this place is a must visit for the area! Campground sites for RVs and tents. Some water and electric sites but the non hookup sites seemed to have a better view and shorter walk to the water. Great place is get lost

Love this park always a good. Time there is a mix of sand and rock so its not hard on the feet. I do sagest water socks though. Bring food not the closest beach to amenities.this park also has some of the island best camping. A reasonable rat. Discover passes do not cover overnight camping.
