The North Haven Trail Association welcomes all recreational hikers and bird-watchers to take a leisurely stroll on the Tidal Marsh Trail, a short but extremely relaxing and educational walk along the Quinnipiac River. Starting highabove the river’s edge, with stunning views of Sleeping Giant, lower Hamden, and the river’s marshes, the trail turns left, meandering south through stands of different species of trees between the water and abandoned CedarHill Rail Yard train tracks. I love this place.
Great views and mostly flat. Short and suffers from some liter.
Neat place to explore definitely evidence of a tornado touchdown
There is excellent water bird watching but the trail is not as well maintained as others in the area
Beautiful views! You can even see sleeping giant from the trail. The trail itself is an easy one but it could be maintained better. Lots of overgrowth and poison ivy. It is a quiet place with few people and the cool sound of nearby trains. Great place for birders and wild flower searchers. Parking is easy right at the trail head. Have fun!
Nice hike. Great views of the Quinnipiac river and marsh.
Better signage along road to left of Target store provides improvement in locating the trail head. However, years of neglect has allowed the pathway to be taken over by nature in some parts along the path. There are two posting attractions to this area - one is it proximity to the river and marsh. Certain points along the path provide great views.- secondly is the abandoned rail yard for rail fans. Remnants abounds in what once was a busy rail yard.Photographers will detect many vantage points for images.
Stick to the paths. Its very pretty being right next to the river, but there is an abandoned train station that has many signs of people living back there. A blogger that explores a abandoned places gave his first recommendation to not go to a place. It can be difficult to find your way back to the path if you deviate from it. Still a fun little path.
This is a great place to hike, Great views and a old train yard you can explore, family loves it here.
I love this place. You can fish here and there is a nice trail going through the woods overlooking the water. Lately I just been reading my books in a quiet serene spot at the entrance. People come and go here, some walking their dogs some just walking. plenty of parking. If you hike early morning or later in the day, bring bug guard. They can be a nuance.
Not even 10 minutes in I got bit by something and Now my ear won’t stop bleeding.I used a lot of bug spray as well
Peaceful hiking and fishing spot. Great place for a family outing.
Wasnt my favorite. Its very bushy and creepy looking. We went half way and turned back. Not for me.
Too overgrown. I could not complete it. Trail needs to be widened and better maintained. Raised planks would make for a much better walking experience.
A world of heaven and Earth wild Life
Waterberry factory that Danny is it called a button factory and then they change the name
Great place for a hike
Great place to hike a couple of miles on a easy trail and fish
Great easy hike!
The Tidal Marsh Trail has great marsh views that overlook the Quinnipac river. You can see egrets, herons, hawks and various other wildlife inhabitants. The entrance is a little hard to find at the end of shopping parking lot.
Great trail where you can see some old abandoned railroad equipment. Parallels Quinnipac River with some beautiful scenery. Entrance to trail is in parking lot behind Target.
