Its a nice little park in north haven, has picnic area and a pond for fishing, and I think swimming also .surround by a huge field, and pine trees which are growing from the tornado of 2018. All in all good place for kids and elderly mostly flat. And walking dogs

Had my grandsons party here, the weather was amazing, the lake had ropes and buoys to keep people out of the deep end, I just wish they had a life guard, other than that it was nice

It’s a great place to take your grandchildren ..My grandson Jayce is 26 months & It’s quiet . It’s not too crowded and a great place for him to get used to the water and to teach him how to swim without a lot of distractions.

This pond is very small. I like going because its close but kinda small and very close to traffic. Not a place to be if you want to get away from the noisy cars. It is still pretty though. Just not the best ct state park ive ever been. Stocked trout pond.

Yikes. For a state park we thought it was going to be a nice place to take a walk. It was a muddy swamp that looked like it had recently been clear-cut, plus a small grass area and small pond for swimming. Smelled bad too. Cant say I recommend this place. We went in the dead of winter. Maybe its a bit nicer in summer. I took the nicest picture I could, in the direction toward the pond and away from the swamp.

Nice to visit if you’ve never ever been, otherwise you’ll find me at Sleeping Giant, Brooksvale, Branford Supply, West Rock, or any other Park with more/better trails. Decent place to wear out your dog for 45 minutes.

The park had some recent renovations. I go here for peace of walking around the lake. I have fished here and caught stocked trout but little else but catfish. Nice small family park.

Wharton Brook got hit pretty hard by the tornado/microburst of 2018. Its still a great place to go for a picnic, cookout, or do some fishing. The trails were utterly devastated in the storm, but they are more interesting and accessible now. Luckily, a lot of the Pitch Pines were spared during the storm, and theyre quite unique and worth a look. I love this little park and hope you will too (please help keep it clean!)

The least visited of all the State Parks in CT I bet. There a small lake with an even smaller beach. A few pavilions for picnicking and wood or charcoal burning grills at picnic tables strewn about. Nothing to write home about but handy being right off I-91.

All kinds of pollutants were found in there and it was shut down years ago. Dont let your kids swim there! I remember being there as a kid and not daring to go in because you could smell the POISON in the water.

Review №56

This park used to be great for swimming. The beach is over grown now and the swim area is literally a kiddie pool size roped off area.(6/20/2016) Its not suitable for anyone teenager or up to swim in. The State of Connecticut continues to neglect its parks and forest land and this park is one of its poster children for neglect. The decline of the parks in this state are a real tragedy for our residents. Dont waste your time going here to swim....its not worth the trip anymore.

This has to be one of the crappiest places in CT. It is dirty, scuzzy and the water smells !!! Not to mention its next to a main drag and near a chemical company ! The terrain is horrible unless you like scuzzy gravel sand pits.
