Great walking trail. Needs more parking space but easily worked around. If you plan on sitting at picnic tables bring something to wipe them off with.
Absolutely beautiful Park, which is well-maintained. The walking trails are well-groomed and well-marked. Absolutely love all of the beautiful foliage, which includes markers to identify different plants and vegetation. we happen to run across a couple of Park rangers and they were super friendly and working hard to keep the trails maintained.
Absolutely peaceful stretch of hiking trail. Walk or bike amongst Floridas natural vegetation. There are three separate trails through the woods. The main loop trail has a boardwalk the entire way so youre able to hike and not worry about the muddy surroundings. The trails without boardwalks are nicely cut and visible. There are areas where water will puddle so if its during rainy season expect some mud. There are picnic tables and a restroom in the main parking area so you can bring a lunch. There are a few benches along the trails as well
Beautiful set of trails! One of the few in fort Myers that has a lot of real earth and not just boardwalk. There are many ways you can take, so you can make it a short or long trip. I’d prefer more signs but there are some at the start of the trails. There’s a little bathroom (outhouse style but fine) at the parking lot too. You can bring your dog!
Great trails, boardwalks are wide, clean and easy to access. Amazing spot for a walk with the pup, with plenty of shade.
Lee County parks . Great place to visit.Ranger Mickey Miller is the best.
Very nice and well lay down. I still expected this time of year its very humid and a lot of mosquitoes. All of the parks in this area have signs that say they close at dusk and another sign that says gate closes at 7 p.m. I believe its always 7 p.m. if dusk is later and probably at dusk if 7 p.m. is later.
Nice quite scenic area to walk. Beautiful maintain paths
Its the perfect walk beautiful you can watch the wetlands and look and do the wildlife and just take a nice peaceful Leisure walk it set to all go one way so you dont run into other people going the opposite direction have to cross pads and you can bring your pet and theres also a horse trail bathrooms also very clean
I enjoyed the shade and the views. There are multiple trails leading from the original trail. It was perfect for a nice run under the trees. They also offered plant descriptions which is perfect for those wanting to learn new facts about Florida trees.
Its a peaceful, clean wonderful place to take a hike through.
The Caloosahatche Preserve East is a nice place for a couple hours of hiking. You’ll want to bring water because even on a 70 degree day if you take what they have labeled as the bike trail you are put in the sun for 3 miles of hiking, and Florida sun is hot.You will not see a lot of wildlife. This is more about a quiet walk surrounded by ferns with the possibility of seeing an Osprey or glimpse an egret through the occasional openings to the Caloosahatchee. Be prepared for some muddy areas as parts of the trail are often wet. Many people bring their dogs, and do a good job of picking up after them.
It is a nice quiet place to go for a walk and enjoy a little bit of nature. I like to watch for turtles, birds, rabbits and other critters along the pathways
Wonderful place for a nice hike, with several distinct habitats to walk through. It has a well maintained boardwalk and is dog friendly. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to experience a taste of the real SW Florida!
Its a lovely, well maintained.
Nice trail along the water which you couldn’t get to because of brush/trees. Some boats on waterways and birds along the East trail. Well marked. Saw a gator on the way out.
Seems to be a pretty popular area with lots of visitors when we were there. Plenty of picnic shelters and dogs are allowed so many were seen there on our trip. Bike trail instructions were not marked too well on the map leaving a bit of confusion where it was and if bikes were allowed on more than one portion of the park. The grassy trail we followed was not that easy to ride. Note the entrance road is basically one lane so be prepared to move over if another vehicle approaches. The entrance sign to the park here (and other Lee parks) are not too visible from the main roadway so be careful when approaching the entrance.
Really nice place for hiking. Nice clean restrooms. There are designated bike and horse trails that are separate from the hiking trails. Some of the trails are being worked on as of March 2018. We saw a large turtle and manatee. There were only a few people there on our Monday visit. There is also primitive camping. These images are their trail maps.
Great nature preserve for a walk through the woods. Secluded enough that you cant hear the traffic on the road. There are multiple trails so you can make your visit quick or long.
This place is a really cool place to bike, take pictures, and fish. The only down side I have is that the bugs are vicious haha. A lot of people love to go here and its always a place to park your car on the side of the road. The prices are absolutely reasonable as well. Give this place a look.
This is a small nature walk, which is perfect for children and my 87 yr old mother. The walk has wooden walkways and sandy trails there are also some trails with roots. Some of the trails have benches. We have encountered large turtles and lizards. Its a very relaxing trail with wonderful bird sounds and in most areas great shade. Remember to bring water. The trail is about two miles. There isnt a lot of parking, there is a bathroom we have never used it .
Nice place to take a walk.
Pretty awesome trail and partly boardwalk!
Great place for a quick hike through old Florida!! Gorgeous!!! Lots of ferns. You drive in a ways, then park, then walk
You can tell which Preserves get the most attention.... This one is very well maintained, with added features of a pavilion, thats covered and plenty of tables... and shade trees.. and restrooms... A dog walkers heaven, poop bag stations, and well marked trails..A board walk section, and dirt trail, this place has a little of everything for all types... Wild life abundance, tortoises, birds, squirrels, bob cats... very pleasant, as long as dogs are kept under control and on leash.. have had a few experiences with dogs running up on you, off leash.. Its sad some dont care about others who have their pets..
Walk this park every other day with the Mutt.Nice easy going 3 trails about 2miles in total, I trail gets gets soggy in the summer. If one is feeling more energetic follow the river loop its 3 miles but be careful in the rainy season the river loop might be impassable. And be wary of the thoughtless owners who let their dos go to toilet and do not pick it up.The other review I do not know where the Lake is on this walk? maybe in the West park which we have not walked yet. 2020 APRIL 23 the parks open!!!!!!!
I found it disappointing.. Thought there would be more to see of the river and places to fish.. But too overgrown
Great walking trails. The back one too the river is quite long w no fishing access.
Beautiful but a little muddy in certain areas even when it hasnt rained in months! Theres a wheelchair accessible trail, boardwalks, and a longer slightly more primitive trail for experienced and energetic hikers but the trails do need to be marked or labled better to avoid confusion.
Great Trails. Great window view of nature.
We love going to this walking park. It has 4 trails of varying length. During the raining season some trails are not available to walk due to flooding. My family loves to go and walk there whenever we get a chance.
Great place to take a small hike. Signs give you a hint as to what you are looking at. Only reason for the four stars is the flooding. It makes it hard to walk the whole trail. Kinda unavoidable but add on my boardwalk would alleviate problems
Took my grandchildren today for a fun day of hiking. We had a ball. Each one of them found many interesting things to point out about nature and wildlife. My two oldest loved the trails that were dirt and my two youngest loved the boardwalk trails. I just discovered this gem and Im sure well be back a few times a year.
Our favorite trails. Local. Gorgeous. Options of length. Beautiful for photography sessions or just a walk through nature. Covered area with picnic tables and bathroom available. Dog friendly.
This was a fun hike. I will say it didnt take very long at all to hike (definitely not as long as they say) but it was nice and we saw a tortoise on the path.
Was fantastic and refreshing. Took dogs for a hike along tbe trails.
Very nice quiet and beautiful scenery. Cant wait to return to take more pictures and walk more trails.
Quiet trail great for biking, running, or walking. Best of all, its one of the few trails around here that allows dogs (on leash). Most of it is covered with canopy. Be careful not to trip on the tree roots!
I had no idea this beautiful Boardwalk full of Sweetbay Magnolias was here beautiful
Absolutely perfect
Absolutely love coming to this park. Go here almost every day to walk my dog. There are picnic pavilions, a bathroom, and multiple trails. One of the trails is accessible to wheelchairs and there are multiple benches throughout the hiking trails. Nice peaceful place to take a walk.
Great dog friendly place. Poop bag station at beginning of trail. No drinkable water. Privy style restroom. Did have toliet paper! Will visit again. I love places that are free and welcoming to out of town guest and their pets. This park gives you a chance to experience some of Floridas plants and trees.
Nice quiet nature walk great for walking your dog
Most trails are very nice! Skip the 3 mile trail, especially in the summer because of the huge puddles.
Great boardwalk for hiking but it ends and too much of the hiking area is underwater in rainy season.
A nice quiet place to hear the planes take off and sit and think.
This is a truly peaceful place to visit. There is a decent sized parking area, with restroom facilities and a few covered areas with picnic tables. The main trail is ADA compliant, with paved asphalt about 3 feet or so wide that transitions to a raised boardwalk. A much longer trail branches off, which is mostly boardwalk, but transitions to grass. There are some sections that have many exposed roots, so tread carefully. Keep an eye out for the geocache!Dogs are welcome here, and you are likely to see some here and there. At the beginning of the trail is a waste station with doggie bags. Our dog loves this trail! There is also a long bike trail, but I have yet to ride it. Will update when I do.
We are back again. We love this place! The trails have a bit of diversity10 months earlierVery beautiful with a variety of hiking trails.
Very nice trails with a lot of boardwalk.
What a beautiful nature walk! Perfect, shady and beautiful
Beautiful place to take your animals taken to walk run trails kids absolutely love this place there however is no place at or anyting this is a lot of running room and the trails are just awesome they build wooden bridges and its a great place to go and hang out
Great place for nature walks. We walk our dogs here every sunday. People also hide painted rocks there
Any FLORIDA Park is usually a great park and this one was no exception. The walking path was flooded as it rained a day or so before I came which really gave me a feel of this “old Florida” that the settlers has to deal with and o for one could appreciate the authenticity although boardwalks are awesome as well, so it kinda goes both ways with those
A variety of scenery
Not crowded, dogs are allowed, nice area.
Lots of nice trails and dog friendly!
Great place to hike and see wild life
We love going to this walking park. It has 4 trails of varying length. During the raining season some trails are not available to walk due to flooding. My family loves to go and walk there whenever we get a chance
Nice
No parking fee, the only free park in Florida. I love coming here and running with my dog.
Very diappointed that dogs were not permitted.
Nice trails, pleasant place for walking/ jogging. Good potential for birdwatching.
Beautiful place, well kept walks
Nice dog friendly area. Well maintained trail system that I would rate for level of difficulty as easy
Great place for friends and families together for a nice walk or hike. Peaceful and well maintained trails!
Its a great place to walk the dogs.
Kid friendly and dog friendly!
Fantastic place to visit. Beautiful trails. Be aware of flooding during rainy season.
Our first visit to this park. The park is a pleasant surprise, with very nice hiking trails. Only a few other people visiting the park at the same time. Dogs are allowed. The park has a single gender-neutral restroom with a composting toilet. The restroom is kept clean.
Beautiful scenery and an easy trail. Worth the trip.
Lots of trails and a very nice walk. I wish that the trail marked in white (the longest one) had a but more of a winding shape. The squareness of it felt too unnatural to have a great time.
Great boardwalks and varied habitats. Clean vault toilet.
The pathwalk here walk was a mixture of elevated canopy-style boardwalks and trails(dirt and grass). You meander down the trail for about 10-15 minutes before arriving at a little pond with an array of wildlife. Saw not gators but there are. There were benches at the end by the lake to sit and a little plaque saying the benches were a Boy Scouts Eagle Project. Overall a nice little stroll that only ate an hour or so. You do get some freeway noise but after a couple minutes you tune it out. there is also a much longer trail, that I didnt get to see but the map says that it goes all the way to the River. Nice low key walk in a preserved area. Worth visit it, certainly.****
Great trails with boardwalks not a lot of pedestrian traffic easy access from the highway
Very nice place
Excellent park right off the highway.. great for a quick walk! The trails are very well kept.
Always clean and very nicely maintained
Well maintained, clean, peaceful and quiet.
Nice place for dogs or biking
I love this place
There are three trails, each one longer than the next and benches on each trail. The trails have bridges, wooden walks beautiful birds and is keeper in great condition.
I got married here! Lovely oak trees, lovely board walk and extensive salt marsh trails. Nice, quiet park!
Great walk in a preserve
Awesome nature walk. Great scenery. Bring repellant, mosquitoes might carry you away.
Nice paved and wooden walkways. If you out towards the river, be cautious of the gators. If the trails out by the river arent cut, I wouldnt walk back there.
Great place..can take dog..3mile hike or several quickie hikes..s enic and safe
Awesome walking trails, some are paved, some are natural, all around great place to bring kids and dogs!
Nice little park. Great hiking trail that is pet friendly.
