Its an important historic fort but little to see inside the buildings. Most only able to see the setting and outside of the buildings. Very historic.
A nice quick dose of history. The guide was very welcoming and informative.
Nice small fort to visit. Easy to access after clearing security. Beautiful view of the water. Guided tour in the summer. Free
Killing time before Fantom Works tour. Not much there. Guards were really nice. All self guided tour, all buildings closed
Very interesting. Not too big. Extremely cool
The tour begins with informational session and a viewing of a video about Norfolk s early days. Did you know that the city limits ended at the Hague? Neither did I! Touring the buildings allows you to see actual dwellings and workmanship that were used as early as 1812. Imagine walking the same steps as Norfolk soldiers did during the War of 1812! Even the forts doors have a unique history. This your is well worth the time. Ill go again just for a trip back in time. I loved it!
A very nice unknown historic location that also has a cache site!
It was just a few buildings that are in disrepair. I dont mind historical disrepair but these were things that were recently added that were falling apart. Doors of sheds revealing modern storage poorly piled inside. There were not very many informational signs. I knew the buildings were not going to be open yet but something would have been helpful. We followed a path way by the water and were told by a security officer we werent allowed down there. I believe the fort should be sectioned off from the restricted area if you are going to allow visitors.I have been to many historical forts and this one was a waste of time.
Sleep study clinic was great! I felt soo much better after my cpap sleep
My son did living history here and we got to see him fire civil war era rifles
Took my daughters here today. Was given an impromptu tour by a member of the historical society. My daughters really enjoyed the writing on the wall from the prisoners.
Historic Fort Norfolk. Self guided tour.
Beautiful and full of history! Clean but still rustic
Everyone is very welcoming and friendly.
My wife says she loves her doctor
Nice place with several interesting things. Add it to your vocational trip.
Sadly this place was closed when we tried to go because they has a big event going on in Norfolk and they were not trying to compete with it.
Wasnt worth the visit. Very disappointed
Also place for history from the ear of 1812 to the civil war
Free parking. Lots of history.
