Very nice 5 parks in one plenty of things for the whole family

Went to ride the bike trails, the park as a whole seemed well kept. The skate park looked nice but a little crowded. There are two bike trails a blue and a green. The green one was nice but a little confusing to follow. The blue was definately more advanced but still just as much fun!

I love their tennis courts!! 3 different playgrounds for the kiddos and even a skate park. Definitely a nice place to relax or get moving outside with the family.

Great place for the family. Watch out for the racoon though. Someone did call animal control though.

Awesome park with pavilions and BBQ grillsEach pavilion has a covered 12’ wide x16’ long x 12’ high portion.Amazing playgrounds, baseball fields and plenty of trash canisters for visitors.I will return here again. I like that it’s close to the base so I don’t have to travel too far.

Good park but they need lights near the basketball court if the tennis courts have them. We will try the trail soon but we like it and so does our pup

Skate park nice.Gets crowded early tho on the weekends. I recommend you go before 10am to beat the crowd.

The skate park is pretry cool but pretty crowded at 7pm. Hard to get there by boke from Ghent.

Great place for kids play on the playground and also those that love to go skating skateboarding I got a perfect skate park right there

Nice place quiet but I was looking for more of a track than they had. I guess you can just run or walk along the street area.

Basketball courts, soccer fields, skate park, ball fields, wooded hiking trails, picnic gazebos, tennis courts, this park has everything for a pleasant day out.

Great Park. Just be careful of the left back parking lot. That is a predators dream back there

Trails in the very back looks like fresh mulch just placed. I loved it like a kept secret from a storybook.

Nice and open. lots of things for kids to play on.

Has everything Basketball court, Tennis court, indoor pool, playground baseball diamond, and picnic areas with grills. Oh yeah and the only outdoor skatepark in Hampton Roads

I love Northside Park. I went there to ride my skateboard and the ground was so smooth. I recommend going there.

Great park! It has three different mini parks, for kids of different ages/stages and has a skate park, basketball courts and tennis courts. People always seem nice and friendly. We are here often, my kid loves it.

Was nice Ive been going since I was a kid I lived behind the park in the Oakdale farms houses...me and my sister used to swim all summer so not only is it a nice park for skating and play with a large field aswell for games with the family...its nastalga and a place I always remember ...it also has a tennis court

The grass was spiky. Bring shoes. The trees are beautiful.

I couldnt believe how many paths there actually were through that little patch of woods, but the dogs absolutely love it! Plus its close by and has a lot of places for cooking out and doing all kinds of activities. I think its great!

Lots of equipment for children of all sizes! Lots of things to do for the family!

Great place for a picnic or to watch a softball game.

Nice park tucked away off of tidewater. Includes play areas for kids of most ages, an active skate park, indoor swim area (I didnt go in to see) and some nice looking baseball/softball fields that I assume the city uses for leagues. Really chill area.

Im new to skating and older and last I went out was full of kids which is to be expected but it seemed to be more kids just hanging around rather than those that skated scootered or bladed. But I cant complain. If you dont want to deal with the kids get there bright and early when theyre in school or around 7 or 8 in the morning on the weekends.

We love going to the park. It has swings for older kids and babies as well as play areas designed for specific age groups. The littlest one is for toddlers to age 5. The next area goes up to age 12 I think and theres a teen area. Each play area is designed specifically with the age group in mind. I love how the toddler area is under trees. Its always well shaded so the sun never has a chance to beat down on the equipment making it hot. Ive experienced that at other playgrounds which made us leave right away. Northside also has a big skate park, indoor pool, and tables with grills. There are some sports fields as well.

I love the trees at this park great for fall pictures. And the skate park is great. I attended a Skate contest with my children over the summer. We had a great time.

The main entrance parking lot is huge and pretty much always clean. There is a pool and skate park, neither of which I have used yet. Paved and non paved trails lead you to each area in the park.There is a secondary entrance that brings you closer to the tennis and basketball courts as well as the baseball fields.Benches and tables are well spaced out through the play areas and there are trash cans. Park is well shaded by giant trees so play time even on the most sunny day is easy.

It has a playground for toddlers 18 mo -4yrs and another playground for older kids about 6-12yrs both with picnic tables and benches. Nice sheltered picnic areas a basketball court and skateboard rink. It was really nice. My grandsons enjoyed the heck out of it and for me ..it was very relaxing.

Basketball courts are great to have fun on and the skating park is really good and my lil sis loves the park so much and very enjoyable place

On 7/13/19 had a family reunions at Northside Park this was our third reunions here it was beautiful weather, the trees, pool, ball court fantastic.

We had a birthday party for my grandson here. I like having a place for him to play. Everything was clean.

Loved this park! So much to do! Lots of swings and play structures. Seems very well kept. My kids and I are looking forward to going back.

The city of Norfolk needs to clean up this park.

Its a cool place to go and chill for leisure, tennis, basketball, running, jogging and just relaxing, eating, and conversation.

Its a nice park to go. For you self or with your family and friends.

Very fun park. Things to do for all types of people. But the trail in the woods is not trimmed down so be careful if you want to hike it.

Its best to go before 10am and after 5pm the sun is not directly over head during those times making the swing area cool enough for the little ones.

Park is legit. Can get packed at peak hours. Skate park is nice. They should patrol more often here though. Kids always trying to drift cars here.

Not allowed to do anything at this park. Need a permit to use propain grill and your not allowed to play baseball without a permit. Its no wonder the youth are getting over weight and staying in trouble. You need a permit just to have fun. Dont forget your paid by the tax payers of this city. Get your heads out of your rear ends

They have a pool that was under construction hope its bk in order they also have had the channel 13news cast out there playing softball u gotta love that wish there was more of it but its a great park and nice people and peaceful

A nice area for cookouts and parties ... The play Park area for the kids ... activities for the grown-ups ... the swimming pool area ... and they have police surveillance ... and a place where you can come and just sit and chill ...

Very clean with a great variety of equipment for the kids of all ages. We also think its awesome that there is a skate park. Once the rec center reopens the pool, it will be our one stop shop!

Its a nice park with several play areas. Theres also a pool, skate park and picnic area. Our favorite was the playground under the trees. The park also has plenty of benches around the play areas for parents and others to sit while keeping an eye on the children.

Overall it was an enjoyable experience and a perfect place to hang out with family. The one detraction is that the benches are low but that is good for the children.

Dry brisket. They chopped it up, I dont know why. It was like chewing on taffy...

I love this park. Its always clean and safe. Conveniently near a McDonalds and gas station if you forget your drinks. Perfect place to take the kids or have a picnic.

Never been near the ramp side. My little daredevil enjoyed it though.

Nice park, separate play areas for yonder children. Bathroom facilities available. Lots of parking and picnic tables.

Had a very big parking lot, but something I could see filled up really quickly. Trash bins were overflowing but maybe due to government shutdown? Playgrounds were kept, and recent rain had huge (10 feet wide) puddles. Several playground areas were suitable for age separated group 2-5, 5-10 and then a gated skate park with a entry booth. We will be going back.

We had a nice winter day at the park. Nice place. Enough swings and slides. Fun playground for the kids. Different sizes too. It kinda sucks crossing the street if you are walking but that isnt the parks fault. Maybe the city can put flashing lights to remind people to stop for pedestrians. Maybe they can add a climbing wall.

This place is great because it has a Park and it also has a skating thing where the kids can skateboard and its awesome and we love the tire swing

Northside park would be a lot nicer if people would pick their trash. Every time I take my kids there I end up picking up trash for 20 minutes so I dont have to keep looking at it.

I brought my kids here when they were younger and now we are bringing my first grand kid here for more memories!!!

My wife and I brought our three kids to play at the park and found this gem not too far of a drive from where we live. Our girls loved the play area, plenty of shade on hot days, and I get to enjoy the skate park and teach my kids to skate. It’s a lot of fun.

Good for kids to play outdoors and experience nature.

Great fields and concessions. Not enough parking. Arrive early!

Lots of stuff to do play places baseball fields tennis courts working out just having some fun in the picnic in the park great place to bring the family keep up the great work and they have the new addition to the skatepark been there for a few years This is a great park been here many many times growing up. Its come up alot over the years lots of room for lots of people. Best park in Norfolk keep up the great work

Its a very nice place, be careful on the big kid area there are a lot of falling hazards, but minus that its awesome!

Fun, safe place for my kids and I to go. Alot to choose from if youre a kid. Skate park, bike path, and tennis courts.

Skate park is standard, early 2000s design (double-square bowl/pool, small snake run, banks, speed bump, various lips and slide rails). Fun, but overdue for an upgrade.

Its the perfect place to entertain kids for hours. Pool and all.

Great park. Kids had lots of fun. Didnt check out the pool but there was lots of people there too. Has a skate park too.

Nice area . But no toilet paper/tissue in rest room. Could of been cleaner

I use the tennis courts here several times a week. They are free, have lights, and not in bad shape. The courts could use some work but happy to have them. I do wish there was a place to sit when playing tennis. I usually bring my own chairs now.

Went to a childs birthday party, great parking, the children had great areas to play. Good sized shelters with lots of trash bins and grills. Only thing I didnt like was while we were there, at least 5 Ice Cream trucks parked in front of the shelters playing that loud music.
