This is a great park if youre looking to get away from the city and some of the busier trails. We walked about 2 miles of the trail and only saw a few other people which was nice. Theres a good portion of the trail thats shaded which is great for summer. The little boardwalk area at the back of the trail is a cool little place to check out. I do wish there was easier access to the river on the main loop trail. The Native American homes are another cool area to check out and learn a bit about local history.

If you are looking for a prairie-like environment mixed in with some forestry then this is the perfect place! Nearby is the Aerial Adventure (zipline course), horseback riding and archery. Can usually see some sort of wildlife (especially dawn and dusk) and they have a decent Nature Center with a wide variety of species. Walking through the Native American living spaces is interesting and they provide plenty of educational information. One of my favorite local outdoor spots!

Its a lovely place to have a picnic! There are also some okay trails to take the pups on a walk! If you are looking for a pickup/put in spot there is a very nice one here. But I think what I most enjoy is the open fields the further one back is very secluded and I was able take my dogs lead off and do some fun off lead stuff with him!The native american bit is neat. I wish they would have built real hut and meeting room, I understand it costs more and wouldnt last as long but I think it couldve been an opportunity to really do it up the right way. They could at the bare minimum put the protective wall around the entire circle.I like it though solid park 9/10

Loved trip to Stawtown Kotee.Im planning on re-turning to make an entire day of it. Its fun to learn about the first hoosiers, and actually see how they lived. The park is huge, and theres re-created living areas throughout the park. All constructions are based on findings from dig sites/ artifacts. The artifacts are displayed in a learning center that is staff operated, so locked outside hours of operations. Park itself is open at all times.Great trails for both bikes and walking. The parking lot closest to main entrance has a tire pump for bicycles.IMPORTANT: Bring snacks and water. Did not see nearby store.

What a cool park! The part we went to had a nature center that had so many neat artifacts, animal specimens, and other things like nests and minerals. Our girls loved exploring. There were also some simple art projects. The archiological sure was really interesting and unique. While we were there the wild flowers were abundant and we saw a lot of birds and butterflies along the path. Very nice park for families.

We loved Koteewi! Its a great park. The nature center is a good place to visit. The bathrooms are nice and tidy. They had some animals to see and coloring sheets for kids to do. Outside is good place to walk around too. You can explore the native huts and dwellings there.

My last memory of archery was from the Renaissance Festival four years ago, so I was a little nervous at how well we’d all fare. We arrived at Strawtown Koteewi Park in Noblesville and were immediately welcomed by staff who helped fit us for bows and show us how to use the range. There were a couple of other families there, but it wasn’t crowded at all. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day!Because I’m very double-jointed, my elbows always get in the way. I was really relieved when staff brought me an arm guard – now I can participate without getting all bruised up!The archery range has regular targets and animal targets, like dinosaurs and alligators. If you’re wondering, we all did pretty well!If you have more time, be sure to check out the other activities in the immediate area, like horseback riding, tubing (they pump real snow onto a hill!), and fishing.

Hamilton county Indiana has fantastic parks! We are blessed to have such resources. The staff that runs these parks are knowledgeable and a real asset to the taxpayers. Chris Stice, one of the main people, is a great leader in this organization; all the employees look up to his direction at the various parks in Hamilton county. Every park flourishes under his leadership.

Great trails for low impact hiking. Also great for biking, jogging, or even horseback riding. (Horses & bikes not available for rent, you have to provide your own.). Theres also a nice nature center, and a small area dedicated to the history of the area, including recreations of longhouse that you can freely explore inside & out.

The fog was very dense this morning. Saw several small toads at the woods edge. Spotted a hickory tussock moth caterpillar in the foggy wood as well. When sun came out later Monarch butterflies were in numbers along with a Giant Swallowtail Butterfly feeding on thistle flowers and goldenrod along with skippers and pretty yellow and orange sulfurs. Also saw a Turkey Vulture riding the thermals on this hot humid day. Great day for teaching school kids about the wonders of our natural world!
