Beautiful location to walk around and take in the oceans beauty. I just wish more people would clean after themselves as there were plastic bottles and trash around. Wonderful spot to go for a walk or sunbathe.

A great spot to relax, breathe the fresh air and sight see. You can either sit by the jetty and watch a variety of different boats and sea life cruising in and out of the harbor. Ive seen dolphins, harbor seals, and sea lions regularly swimming through. Massive yachts and small ski boats cruise in and out all day. There isnt much in the form of facilities like a dedicated parking lot or bathroom, but there should be plenty of parking in surrounding neighborhoods and Balboa fun zone has about a half mile away has public bathrooms. On the other side of the jetty is the world famous surf spot, the wedge. Featured in the Endless Summer and numerous other surf documentaries this place goes off. Waves get large enough to make the sand shake. A great place to watch but would not recommend for a swim. Waves can creep up, pick you up, and throw you right into the sand. No worries though, if youd like to swim just head north a bit and its much better for taking a dip.

It doesnt seem to be very busy during the day and at night the weather is perfect and the sound of the waves is always welcomed. There are plenty of shells and fun things to find on the beach if youre into that kind of thing. Kids love it.

I love this park. Small and clean. I used to drive exploring different areas and found this park in 2006? Although I havent been there in years, would definitely go back to enjoy my lunch or dip my toes in the water. The local pups were also a treat to see.Be respectful if you visit, dont leave trash behind and pick up your pets poo....

Definitely one of my favorite spots in Newport Beach Balboa area for sure. Come out here early if possible to find parking as there isnt public parking just residential. Mornings are beutiful here def one of my top places to relax and watch the boats go on out to the ocean.

Very beautiful at night. The lights on the other side are nice, the view is great, and the houses are giant. There are rocks at the end of the peninsula but they should not be walked on. It’s a 20 minute walk from the actual beach but worth the view.

Relaxing & very tranquil to say the least... nothing beats a day at the beach when ya find a peaceful place to enjoy the local boats & people enjoying their days as well...

But it known as the wedge its also a Good place to watch the boats go in and out of the jetty

Great place to watch surfers when the surf is up. No parking though so best to bike or walk to it.

Hard to park, but once you do, its worth any trouble it took to get there. You can find places to park on the street, but no overnights.The park is small, but ample enough for picnicking and watching the waves crash onto the shore. You can also watch the surfers who risk riding the waves because it is a dangerous spot to surf and swim. Read up on the WEDGE and you will see why.

My youngest daughter took me their a very nice and clean beach. I will be going back.

Really good for fishing at the end of the rocks with metal jig lures bonitas be coming around but please clean up after yourself

Great park and view of back bay. The homes and overall view is a sight to see. Because of the big jetty, The Wedge is a globally known surf spot. The waves are huge and I love to watch the surfers there a while. Most go to see them take on killer waves.

Great view, clean sand and not a lot of people.

Parking is the hardest part of going there but it really isnt that bad. The beach is never really packed and theres plenty of room for shore fishing.

Cool bunch of rocks that you can walk out on and look at the ocean. Be careful though because they very slippery. You can also fish off the jetty. Walk out and just watch boats go bu is also a lot of fun

Check out the Wedge I have heard that its the biggest shore break in the world !! Parking is limited, sometimes during Big Waves. Watch the riders from close proximity, then take a short walk north, like 100 feet, you are able to look into the barrels of the waves and see the riders..... Amazing ..... Have a So. California Experinace !! Big wave days, take a ride share, to avoid looking for parking. Have an Awesome Experience

Its clean and had a bit of grass and a few picnic tables, but this isnt a park. Its a grassy area to watch boats enter and exit the harbor and look at the beautiful scenery. But the Wedge is cool if youre down for some shore breakage.

Amazing! The Wedge us all it is cracked up to be. The locals are loco, but extremely entertaining. The lifeguards are on point and alert, thank goodness. This place is rad!

Straight up chill, and generally very peaceful. There is free parking around here, but it can get very crowded during the summer time.

Def Not for the faint hearted. Be very careful and perhaps just observe... but if u do go for it, know u will get pulled under and tossed about. Hold your breath and let it ride u in.

Wonderful area for strolling, fresh air, and watching sunsets. Clean and well maintained. Made a nice starting point for a stroll on the beach and to Balboa pier and back. Windy, so dress in layers if visiting in winter.

Paddle out to here from anywhere inside the Newport Bay. Little Corona Beach is on one side, and a tiny, tucked away beach at the end of Balboa peninsula is on the other side. Boat traffic here is high, but its a fun place to paddle to.

Excellent place to watch waves crash! Surfers make it super fun! Fantastic beach for pictures ands sunsets. But bring a jacket!

Great spot to view the boats going in and out of the harbor. No restrooms or eateries, cant really spend much time here. Not a destination for the family for the day, better choices in Huntington Beach.

Charming balboa peninsula is a beautiful neighborhood to stroll through with a variety of stunning architecture and lots of great views of Newport, boats to watch cruising in and out of the marina and fisherman on kayaks or the pier. Great gem to check out.
