Its very noisy (I recommend ear plugs if you are cycling or walking across it), but the views are great.i used to commute over this from peninsula to Newark.in the morning and evening rush hour (pre-covid) the traffic towards peninsula, and away from peninsula, respectively, was quite bad. it would get backed up quite far.i hope they implement remote work for more people so that traffic will ease up in the bay, which would be good for sanity/ peoples health and good for the environment.

OK, the bridge itself is just a roadway across the bay. But the real attraction to me are the wildlife refuges and bird sanctuaries underneath each end. Lots of water and shorebird observation areas located on each end. We go to Ravenswood twice a month to see what birds have flown in or are hanging around,

Didnt know you could review a bridge. This is a great option instead of driving through the water, I would definitely take this bridge! Toll going into the valley, but free going out. Not too bad its 5 dollar but heard it might get raised. And honestly the views driving are always nice.

I love this bridge! But the toll is gonna rise up next year because not enough people voted on that one prop!I think Ill jump off it

When you drive eastbound on the bridge and before you reach the inland; make sure to roll down all of your windows to enjoy the smell of the nature. Highly suggest to go there with an open convertible!

We visit this bridge on our way to Stanford hospital and clinics. The traffic depends on the hours. Its light on early morning hours before 9 mostly and after 5 PM its heavier.the view of San Francisco bay is worth watching.

Considering you will now pay $6 for the privilege of crossing this bridge, one would think it would be in better condition. The road before, after and on the bridge are horrible. GIANT potholes abound! Lots of missing car parts to stare at as you drive (hopefully) ten miles per hour across the entire stretch. If you and your car can avoid this bridge, youll be happy you did.

As the southernmost, Dumbarton Bridge gives people a great view of the South Bay marshlands. Hopefully, this gives passengers the idea to visit the parks near the bridge: Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Coyote Hills Regional Park, Alameda Creek Regional Trail, and Niles Canyon

The new Dumbarton Bridge has definitely made it easier to travel between the East Bay and West Bay, but the traffic is always increasing since the opening of Face Book headquarters and also the increase in traffic to Palo Alto and Menlo Park. The best times to travel are 10AM to 2.30PM. or before 6:30AM and after 7:PM. sharing a carpool helps somewhat but not that much.Starting from Fremont area the alternative route via 880 S to 237 west and 101 SFO is in my opinion worse though the distance is about the same and you save on the toll, for all three freeways are crowded. 101 is the worst freeway IMO at any time.Fridays and Saturdays should be avoided especially on evening s when you can add an hour or more to the commute.I travel the bridge many many times each month for the past 36 yearshope this helps

Out of all the magnificent bridges the Bay Area has to offer, the Dumbarton is the runt of the litter. While it serves its purpose, it’s a pretty forgettable bridge. That may be fine elsewhere, but that’s tantamount to a sin around here. Ask any Bay Area native to draw a picture of this bridge and I bet you they can’t do it.

This bridge is terribly managed, causing enormous traffic jams every single day. The intersections at University and Willow need to be grade-separated (made free-flowing, with no traffic lights). Traffic is one-way in the commute direction, so the bridge needs a reversible lane in the middle. There is no bus/carpool lane, so bus trips are slow and unreliable. No bus service at all on weekends, screw anyone who works Saturdays. And good God, turn the metering lights on. Theyre already there. You already paid for them. Just turn them on, for goodness sake. The purpose of metering lights is to not overload the bridge, so its only slow at one place (where the lights are), and not the whole way through. But the lights are never turned on! So, of course, theres always a huge traffic jam the whole length of the bridge. What was the point of installing them, then?

“Im not sure why this is being reviewed but ....”The best I can say about the bridge is, it is a wonderful way to get from point A, one side of the bay to point B the other side of the bay. Vast improvement from the original Family owned Dumbarton that was a combination bridge and sailboats had the right-of-way. Every time a sailboat wanted to pass, the bridge...

It always smells bad around this bridge due to stagnant water. Literally feels like a public urinal place because of the odor of standing water. Once in a while the odor goes away but it is literally bad for 6-7miles on your way on the bridge. The bridge and the road has not been maintained properly especially the roads are bumpy and very narrow compared to the $5 toll tax that they charge, this bridge and roads around it need major upgrade especially if Facebook is the major connecting company to Fremont. It is below average compared to all other bridges around the bay.

Worth noting you can cycle across this separated from the traffic. As a way to get across the water which flows beneath it, it works great. As a destination, it can be skipped. The views from it are dull. The views of it are unimpressive.
