Love coming here for great laughs. They have a great mix of comics from professional to amateur. Just saw Michael Rapaport tonight and he was killed it. Paul Mercurio is a recurring favorite. They offer a Laugh Pass which gives free admission to all the shows you can go to. The staff is very friendly and I encourage anyone who goes to sit by the stage for the full experience. Theres always a fun energy when the talent interacts with the crowd.

Had a great time here. The lineup was solid. Drinks price is similar to most comedy clubs. Disappointed in the person who was at the front taking the tickets. She didn’t look like she wanted to be there and rolled her eyes anytime my friends or I asked her a question as we were from out of town. Aside from that, really enjoyed the show.

This is an intimate venue, we went on a Monday for the early show (8PM). There was lots of crowd interaction for the ~15 people in the audience. The host Emad and other comedians got a lot of good laughs from us. They also read the crowd and changed jokes accordingly. Yes, the $18 drink minimum per person is real, they do order their food from the eatery nearby, and were attentive to the tables. They do include gratuity in the tab as well.

Great, cozy comedy spot. Make sure what youre buying counts towards your drink minimum: I think its common sense that food doesnt count but some folks there didnt.Great local comedians, lesser-known out-of-towners and (I hear) the occasional big name. This is where I go when I just want to see some random good comedians

Comedians should not waste their energy performing here. Although I enjoyed 5 out of the 7 comedians, that cannot bump this review up a single star. You should all perform at a place that takes pride in themselves. There is a ludicrous $18 drink minimum on top of paying for the show. The only way to get out of this exemption is if youre under 21. I asked if I could purchase $18 worth of food instead since I do not drink (plus I drove); however, the waiter simply stated that food does not count towards the minimum, with the implication being I either buy a drink or get out. Thankfully there were patrons willing to drink my share. When I caved to order waffle fries ($9), the waiter informed me that it would take around 20 minutes. 40 minutes passed, and the waiter brought what appeared to be waffle fries from the diner next door, complete with the to-go tin container and packets of ketchup. When it came time to pay the bill my friend and I discovered we were overcharged due to a failure to meet the minimum, which was not the case at all. After yet another back and forth with the waiter, we were given the correct bill with the $22 overcharge subtracted from the bill. Not exactly a minor oversight. The fact that a sizable number of people left before the checks came was telling, and in hindsight, I should have not paid either. The least I could do now is warn people of my experience so they may make their own judgments.

Great little comedy club! I dropped in here with a few friends over the weekend and the line up was great. The headliner was a Broadway Show host and was very entertaining. The 4 other comedians all kept us laughing and each had their own unique style. Drinks were good as there is a 2 drink minimum.

They are a RIP off. $28 dollars for a shot of Jose cuervo and a modelo + $ 9.00 gratuity and $4.95 TAX. TWO DIRNKS minimum. I spend $61.67 for a $10.00 dollar for a local comedy show. They did not have any top shelf liquor. The bar tender was nice enough to let me change my cell phone at the bar while I waited for the show.

Nice small comedy club with bar in front. The first three comics (of five) were top notch, which elevates the venue from a one star review. The waitstaff were unfriendly, the building smelled like beer and the tables were sticky, and the volume was far too loud. The greatest faux pas was bringing the check in the middle of the show. Everyone was then turning on their phone flashlights to figure out payment. Mandatory gratuity for a party of two is ridiculous.

Found an email i sent way back when to which I never received a reply:I am contacting you to request a refund for a 2 ticket purchases to Stand Up NY. My friend and I were approached in Time Square and convnced to buy tickets. We had agreed to go to the show and handed the gentleman 20 dollars before he gave us the tickets. He failed to mention that there was a 2 drink or minimum 20 dollar purchase. We had already eaten that night and moreover, we are under 21. We had to leave the city yesterday morning so there is no way we could make use of the tickets. We gave the tickets to the man at the door. We did not stay for the show and were given your contact information to request a refund. We are told you are able to do this electronically. Please tell me what information you need and what steps I need to take to process the refund. Thanks for your time,JessicaPS. I had called you the other day and we were in conversation when we lost connection.

Hilarious! Went to the unwashed comedy show. Was a little nervous with some of the reviews being so negative--but was not disappointed. All of the comedians were funny. Yes the drinks were expensive--but NYC is expensive in general, so not a surprise. Plus as soon as you check in, when the waitress comes to say hi, AND when the MC/host comes on the stage, they make it every clear there is a 2 drink ($18) min per person. Its also written In multiple locations (along with the fact that tax isnt included on the menus and an 18% service charge is put in your tab). These angry people just must not be literate or just plain old grumpy. I quite enjoyed myself, along with the rest of the audience. Highly recommended. Note: Im a real person and was not paid or endorsed (or what not) to write this review. Genuinely funny. :)

Je
Review №63

The show was great but I will never go back nor recommend it! The worst cocktails ever. They charge you $15 per cocktail which comes in a small cup with barely any alcohol. It was like juice. You dont taste any alcohol, you dont feel it either. (That means a lot since my limit is like 2 beer) The canned beer which was $10 did more than the cocktail. Honestly, being cheap with the amount of vodka they put in the cocktail made me more mad than the price. Smh. Also everyone should check their bills because the 18% service charge is a LIE. They charge you more than that. >:( CHECK YOUR BILLS PEOPLE!!

Dont even bother going to NYC its a waste of time and money. All the money you will spend there you could buy round trip tickets to Nashville, get a 5star hotel and walk the streets of Nashville see a bunch of awesome talent for free drink good cheap music city beer and ride on bicycle bars and so much more. All while spending the same or less as you would in NYC! Simply just dont go to new York! The people suck, the air sucks, their prices suck. So not worth it!

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)Food: Good.Considering I ordered standard pub food: buffalo chicken wings and fries.Drinks: Great.Space: This is a very intimate comedy club (read: youll be on top of each other :)). The tables are all set up wrapping around the stage with a more lounge type setting on the elevated level towards the back. It is the perfect layout for mixing and mingling, date nights, and get-togethers. The stage is small and the comedians (new and seasoned) like getting audience participation. So regardless of where youre sitting you will be involved in the routine. :) The main entrance has a nice cozy bar where you can chat up seasoned comedians before they go up.Scene: Singles Scene. Date night. Comedy club.Crowd: 30-40s locals, tourists, and all around people that dont mine audience participation.Service: Bar staff and servers are courteous. It does get packed and service tends to slow down a little when performers are on.

The comics were good, not great, but good. This place was never cheap, but now its a rip off. They are cash only all of a sudden, shoved in more tables to make it even more crowded and charge an 18% service fee to an already hefty $18 food/drink minimum. I enjoyed this place once, but will not be going back. The only acceptable time to come here is if for some reason you NEED to see a comedy show on the upper west side. Otherwise, go to Comedy Cellar or do something else.
