This place is awesome - Im pretty sure I saw a ghost in the lower showroom (and Im not joking) haunted comedy club in NYC can it get any cooler!!!
I had an absolute blast!!! Definitely go if you get the chance. Even if the people you see aren’t as funny as you hoped, the shows are usually free with the exception of buying a drink or food. Everything is decently priced and tastes great so at least there’s that. When I went, all but one comedian delivered and had everyone laughing. We all had a great time and it was well worth it.
Scammed me and my boyfriend on Christmas Eve. Forgot to write about it, saw Pete Davidson performed here when he was 17 recently and felt the need to warn people. I was really disappointed lol somebody in time square scammed us because we clearly looked like tourists and I was being friendly. Nobody famous comes here unlike they say... I wish i would’ve just googled it... just listened to joe Rogans podcast and he and Joey diaz said all the places comedians really go... NOT HERE. Notice how nobody posts a picture of somebody that was promised actually on stage
Really good time! I loved how low key and down to earth the whole thing is. Will definitely be back.
My wife and I love going to comedy clubs, but this was the first time we’d been to BCC. We went on a Thursday night in August, we found a useful discount on the BroadwayTix app.It was a smallish crowd, but the comics were saw were all pretty good and some really stood out. The host was the very funny Troy Bond (it just sounds like a fake name, he said).Standard two-drink minimum... The kitchen was under inspection the night we visited, so no snacks for sale.My one complaint about all comedy clubs (where we are exposed to 6-7 comics in two hours) is that they make no effort for us to remember (or even hear properly) the names of the performers. The Voice of God says the host’s name too fast; the host says each comic’s name too fast; the comics say their names at the end too fast. I only know the host’s name because is asked him by shouting from the seats. Some of us would love to follow some of these folks on social, hear about their careers, find YouTube clips, search for comedy albums, etc. NO SUCH LUCK! Please work on this, comedy clubs! Otherwise, a fun night for both of us.
Read some of the negative reviews and my experience is worth 5 stars. I understood the 2 drinks minimum requirement and had no trouble getting in and being seated. Once inside, I was treated to hilarious, witty and hugely entertaining stand up comedy.Don’t be put off by the bad reviews, you might get lucky like the majority of people and have a fun night out - and if you end up in a long line, don’t take yourself too seriously, make conversation with the other people waiting along with you and meet some new people ;)
Whenever i want to have a good laugh i show up, there is a great service very clean and organized place.
One of the highlights of my recent trip to NYC. We were sold tickets on the street by a vendor (haggle, trust me they drop the price with great ease). Upon reading reviews back at our hotel, I thought Id been ripped off before even getting there.But.... No. The comics were funny and the (clearly stated) two drink minimum set me back no more than $50 for 2 people.Dont let the seemingly unfair reviews put you off. It was a fun evening which is happily do again when Im next in NYC.
Came here for a recent birthday. Considering we won a ton of tickets in a charity, the show was good for what it was. Had some decent laughs. Food and drinks were.... yikes!!!! I don’t expect 5 star food but this was scary. Like really scary. I’m confident that any highschool kid could microwave something more appetizing and slap it on a paper plate and it would trump anything that was offered here. It really isn’t hard to offer a simple but decent food selection.... especially if you’re going to charge what you do.
People complain about the two beverage minimum, but I’ve never been to a comedy club anywhere in the US that doesn’t have that. Plus, the prices at this club are much better than some of the other nearby clubs, when it comes to drinks. Recognized almost all the comedians and overall had a terrific experience for me and my group. Fun to laugh until you cry. I will definitely go again.
While visiting New York, my husband and I were sold comedy club tickets at time square, by a microphone wearing gentleman who promised this was something that couldnt be missed. First Id like to say, we were lucky and got in, because we met people with reservations. However, they are selling these tickets and there is not enough seating, so the chances of getting in without prior reservations, regardless of tickets, is slim. For someone visiting one night, this will most likely be a waste of money. The show itself was funny, and enjoyable. The place is dirty. Take out of this what you will. Hope you see this before you hand the sidewalk guy $30 per ticket. My night turned out to be great, but most people were left in the line I was pulled out of, never to see the show.
Took some of my family to club last night. Our main reason for going was to see Mike Vecchione. We got there early and the gentleman at the desk said if Mike was preforming it would be at the 9 PM show. A young lady said to me Im friends with Mike she texted him and he said he would probably also do the 8 PM show. so we decided to go to the earlier show. We were seated and ordered the 2 drink min. Show started on time. I understood that the performers were either just stating out or trying newer material so we didnt expect much. There were about 10 comics in all well worth the $20.00 . Then the young lady I was speaking to Sheba got on stage she was very good it turned out she Jackie Masons daughter. Mike did go on when he left the stage he shook our hands. All in all it was a great night out. Staff was very friendly
Principle does not exist here.I went last night with my mother and brother who were visiting from out of town. We had bought tickets online for $22 for the 9pm show. When we arrived, we were told to stand in line and wait to be seated with the rest of us who pre-booked for the 9pm show. It was strange that we were left waiting in line and it was already passed 9pm! While it was obvious that we were not to make it to the 9, it was deceptive to tell everyone waiting in line (40 people) that they were “figuring it out” and “waiting for the last show to end to seat everyone, likely at 9:30” which were all lies to keep us waiting in line for the show we paid for. Around 9:20 they said that they would start seating us at 9:40 for the 10pm show. Comes 9:40 and they said that they would have to honor fist those who had tickets for the 10 which many of them were sold on the street for $10 just minutes before or were given away for free to random tourists. At 10 pm, they said THE SAME THING as they did at 9pm that they were once again figuring things out and and that we need to wait a little longer until they had clarity. At that point, the man standing outside to “inform” everyone of the current situation took shelter inside where no one could ask him any more questions. The people who’d been waiting in front of the line for over an hour and a half including our group decided this was insane and walk in to ask questions only to be told the same thing as before. This place has incredibly bad service and do not have a good way to manage overbooking or respect those who pay FULL PRICE for tickets. The worst thing is BEING LEAD ON for over an hour an a half and ruining people’s Saturday night like that. It’s disgraceful and would never recommend going to this comedy club. You’ll have better chances and experience in downtown than here.
Comedy...with very few laughs. For the most part, at least. Nothing against the venue, or even the comics, but most of the sets were so dull. It might have been the crowd, considering it was a Monday night, but I payed a good amount of money to see this show, I’d hope to expect good performers. There were 1-2 who stood out, but the rest of the 5 were very poor. I was overall disappointed with the show, but the venue and the service was good.
I had a very bad experience at Broadway Comedy Club unfortunately. We bought tickets for a Saturday night 9pm show. When we got there, we were told that they oversold tickets and they would let us in to the 10pm show. When 10pm came, we were told it was also full and we would get in to the next show. Keep in mind we were all waiting outside in the winter cold and no one was giving us clear information. We finally got in for a midnight show - after waiting for hour with no information from the staff. They still required a two drink minimum and we received a terrible service. We wanted to order food and the waiter said he would come back to take our order- when he came back he told us it was too late and the kitchen closed. We had eaten no food and were extremely tired from waiting for hours outside. If I had known I would have to wait so long at the beginning, I would have left! Next time, treat people with more respect and give them more info if you know they will not be able to get in. This was my only weekend visiting New York so it was really a shame to spend it this way. I would not recommend.
Well worth the money!! Stick with the show in the main room if you can. Keep in mind that there is a two drink minimum, so about an additional $20 per person....but great experience!
Was really upset with this place bought tickets from a vendor and was told.to be there 30 minutes before the show started no need to make a reservation. After queuing we handed in our tickets and were sent to a separate line for people who had not made reservations and may not be able to get in (even though we were told not to reserve and our ticket stated it is not necessary to make a reservation. After a long wait we were sent through to an incredibly over crowded room and sat in the middle of a table with complete strangers. No room to remove coat or sit comfortably at all. We left before the show even started because venue and service so poor.
I had prepaid for my tickets weeks ago. We went there a bit later than the start time, thinking we have guaranteed seats, but no, they gave them away. Offered to stay for the next show which was 30 min later and waiting on a line in not very heated hallway at 31 F. So, very disappointed. The place didnt look much on outside, but I dont know if thats considered charm.
Amazing vibe inside. Enjoyed till last minute. I highly recommend to visit and lough like never did before.
Spend your money else where! I would not recommend this comedy club ever.In town for a girls weekend and decided to get tickets and go to the 9pm show. I called ahead and reserved a table as I was instructed. However, we arrived and noticed a very long line waiting to get in. Mind you we arrived in a reasonable amount of time before the show. We walked up and told the doorman we had tickets and reservations and we were told to go the back of the line and someone would come to us. Well that never happened. After being in line for close to 1 hour and the show had already started - everyone in line was out raged- one couple started a fight . We were told that they had overbooked and would not be offering refunds!!!!Please if you’re in town..... go elsewhere. Do not waste your time! This place is a gimmick!!!
Came for a friend and the show was good but for a place that requires a 2 drink minimum AFTER paying for cover. Y’all should offer more than well liquor and then no whiskey at all?!? That’s ridiculous
I wish I had read these reviews before we bought tickets (and wish I could give zero stars. Similar experience to many of the other bad reviews here. Bought tickets for the 9pm show. Arrived before 9pm, only to be told to wait in a long line with other people. We assumed the 9pm show was running late. But at 9:45 when we still hadnt gotten in, we were informed that we were in line for the 10pm service - which no one had mentioned before- and that we were shut out of the 9pm service. We couldnt stick around any longer because of train schedules. Very very very unprofessional. Would not recommend. And will refute these charges on our credit card.
Inflated drink prices make sense for a comedy club in Times Square, but the 2 drink limit is a bit strict. The few shows I’ve been to have always been late to start, and end up lasting for several hours. The bills should be shorter, but I do appreciate seeing a wide variety of comics getting the opportunity to take the stage for the first time.Recommend getting cash before hand, because if you plan on buying a ticket at the door, they are not equipped to take cards. I recommend the venue look into buying a square reader or an ATM to make entry a bit more efficient, so they don’t have to turn people away.
11PM show on a Friday. I didnt laugh much so the program felt very long. Some comedians had longer sets than others. Crowd was decent although not a full house. Drink prices: $6 bottle of water, $9 gin and soda.
Don’t do it. They are running a racket. They accept cash payment only and overbook with no refund when they can’t honor their commitment. The staff was incredibly rude and made no accommodations for us. Do not waste your money.
Wish we read these reviews before we bought the tickets. Just a bad experience all in all. We bought the tickets on the street in Times Square and all the information we got from the guy was false: you will get drinks 2 for 1 (WRONG they actually have a rule of minimum 2 drinks per person during the show), you will be able to wait inside and get something at the bar until the show starts (VERY WRONG as we waited outside in the cold and then 40 minutes in a improvised line in the lobby). Some people that went to the show say it is funny once you get inside but the their whole system to get inside is absolute chaos AND there is not only one show there is one main show and other secondary shows you will be added to if you dont get in the main one. It was clear people that were working at the entrance are very used to angry customers and are numb to it. Sorry for them and sorry for everyone that had to experience this on a Saturday night. Just a big no.
My third time here within 6 months.. and the comics really need to update their material. Entrance is free if your name is placed on the list ahead of time with a two drink Per Person Minimum, so long as the comics are funny (which, eh theyre pretty good), seems worth it. Thank you Broadway Comedy Club.
Nice comedy club in the basement of a building. The show I saw was very good and they treat you very well here.
The comedians there are phenomenal at what they do. The seats and tables were very clean, and comfy. If you are trying to find a place for your party, then stop by here. You wont regret it!
Great fun and very friendly staff. The food is ehh. Good for snacks but eat elsewhere
The staff were very friendly and helpful here. Tonight was my first visit to Broadway Comedy Club and I didnt know which show I was attending or any times to find my friend and multiple people assisted me. This is very rare, especially in a busy spot. I will definitely be back.
Enjoyed my visit to the Holiday Sing-A-Long Songbook. I had never heard some of the songs. Food was not worth it. Eat before you go there.
All the negative reviews here seem to be from people who did not plan their night accordingly, did not read the tickets they were sold and/or expected a much fancier experience than was delivered. We bought two tickets from a promoter outside of Time Square for $30, guy was funny and we chatted for a few minutes before deciding to buy the tickets since we wanted to see a show anyway and we like Stand-up. There is some very important information on these tickets than some people seem to neglect, leading them to have a bad time:1. RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED - all it took was a phone call an hour or so before the show asking for a reservation, we showed up 15min before the show we wanted to see and got seated immediately.2. TWO DRINK MINIMUM - 100% normal for a comedy club, you dont have to buy alcohol but if you do I recommend the Long Island Iced Tea because they are very strong and at $10 are the cheapest drinks we had in the city during our whole trip. THEY DO ADD TIP so just dont tip and also pay cash so you can avoid the $2 processing fee.3. THESE TICKETS ARE NOT FOR ONE SPECIFIC SHOW - these are tickets good for entry, not a guaranteed seat at the 9pm Friday night show. If you want a seat at a certain show, make a reservation.4. THIS IS A COMEDY CLUB IN A BASEMENT - while not mentioned on the ticket, this is obvious if you do any googling or even just walk by the place beforehand. This is not dinner and a show, but youre gonna see 5-6 comedians for about an hour and a half, if you want to shell out $100+ per ticket for a broadway musical in a nice theater then go for it.All in all, we had a great time, laughed till we cried at some acts, the Long Island Iced Teas were very strong and we had no issues with the staff. Would definitely come again!
The comedy itself was pretty good, but the actual cost of the show was advertised very falsely. We purchased tickets beforehand, and they were non-refundable, which I understand. However, upon arrival, we were informed that there was a two drink minimum per guest, so each guest had to purchase 2 drinks in addition to buying a ticket. This was not written on the website or the ticket purchasing platform at all, and (apparently) it was only written in very ambiguous wording on the (non-refundable) tickets sent through email. Explaining this, we were able to argue it down to 1 drink per person, but the cheapest drink was still a $6 water, and a beer was $10. Everyone in our party bought either a water or beer. However, the bill for 2 of these waters ended up being over $16, with tax and tip and some other weird charges calculated into the bill they handed us. Then on top of that they asked for more tip at the bottom of the receipt, which just astounded me. Please better advertise your policies. It puts the customer in a really uncomfortable position when they find out they will be forced to buy something that they didnt come for, and realize on the spot that this event will cost more than twice the advertised price.
I had a great time at the Broadway Comedy Club. Most of the comedians were funny. The service was great. I would go back again.
A friend and I decided last minute wed go to a comedy club. Broadway Comedy Club pops up on the Google search a little hesitant at first, we went anyway. Were so glad we did, Its a very intermittent club. The host was hilarious and I dont recall one bad act. We both had a great night and laughed so much.
Took my bf to this for one of his last nights in NYC. Was really chill and the comedians were hilarious.
A good mix of established talent and new performers. All the acts had there own styles.
This club has been consistently good, even when less attended or during the week. When you get tickets through Groupon hey often include a free drink. Check it out!
I wldve rated the place a 5 star if their admissions system was more organized and straight forward to their customers. So many customers standing in line with me were confused as to why they cldnt attend a show they showed up 10 min for and bought tickets for. The show was sold out! But they bought tickets for the show and werent allowed in due to maximum capacity. Later was explained that each show is First Come First Serve. So you need to show up 45 minutes early for the show you want to see and stand in line in order to actually attend it and get a decent seat. Besides this initial stressor the acts were hilarious!
Love it. First time in a comedy clubDefinitely going back. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Good night out enjoying some amateur and upcoming comics within an intimate NYC Manhattan setting. Table service for drinks is appreciated but give the subpar food a miss. This place has potential if they had a proper bar with honest drink prices. On the night I attended the comics were borderline ok, entry was $12.50 via TodayTix for 11pm Late Night Laughs. Basic drinks at venue are $8-$10 as of June 2018.
Too pricey for some of the talent, but its Hells Kitchen and a throw away from Times Square so its really priced for the tourist. A seltzer costs $8!Better off going downtown to see the same talent a lot cheaper, or even free. But this place is a landmark so...
The comedians here were top class. However. They herd you into cramped seating and you may be left with your back to the stage.
In one word its amazing. Comedians are great and staff its great too.
Very enjoyable experience, perfect speck to enjoy live stand up shows by professional comedians and unwind from city hustle and bustle (ticket 20$), book online and have fun!
Great fun. Was a little concerned with all the bad reviews but absolutely loved it. Of course the drinks are overpriced and the food is not the most delicious. But then I didnt go there for food or drinks. The comedy part was really fun with a great line up. Would love to go there again when I am in NY.
What a dismal place. After buying tickets and then entering, they tell you that there is a two drink minimum. The drinks are weak and the service is terrible. Our server Rudy lived up to his name as he was extremely RUDE! He brought us the wrong drinks. He bumped into some of our guests and other patrons without so much as an apology. He would stand in front of patrons, not allowing them to see the show. Then to make matters worse, he automatically included a 25% tip in the check. What a RIP OFF and Fraud this place is!!
Nice decor. But things can get rough when to swords fight for the same honey.
Very cozy venue excellent for audience interraction
Just not a great experience. Got tickets from a guy in Times Square. Let’s just say the experience was nothing like he described. In my opinion, your time is better spent elsewhere.
I enjoyed the show immensley. We saw at least 10 comedians in the show. They were very funny and interacted with the audiance.
We bought the tickets from a seller in the street and been there 2 times. First night we met some really nice people from staff and it was all really good. The second time the personnel was different and they were very rude. I ordered a frozen daiquiri and they gave me frozen juice. The show was very good, we laughed a lot. The place is small and cosy.
The performances I saw tonight were actual elementary level. I did not have an awful night but would definitely not go back to see this level of comedy. I would also not recommend to people who are interested in political comedy to go see these performances. Maybe 80 percent of the jokes were just about sexual experiences and racial slurs and not in a smart way. But all in all this was my first experience watching non professionals and it was interesting to see how different the jokes are when performers are that young and inexperienced.
Scam!! Buyer beware!!Don’t waste ur money here! 2 drink min means u will spend $81! Once you get there they will make you spend another hour waiting for the next show since it is filled up! Should of listen to the people that came out while I was waiting in line scream scam but you always want to give people the benefit of the doubt! Don’t give this people a dollar!
Come at least a half an hour before your show time as the place fills up pretty quickly on weekends. The Groupon gives you a good discount, one free drink per person (you will be expected to buy another one during the show), and an admission to a future show. The club offers some fast food, about a dozen of common cocktails and a half a dozen of simple wine varieties, each one for $ 10. The service is not quick. Long lines for the restrooms... But chances are you will like at least some of the jokes told by five different performers.
Some comics are a hit or miss, but the headliner Robert Shapiro gave an excellent performance! Definitely planning to see more of him in future gigs.
Great drinks and comics. You will have a good time.
Some hilarious performances!!!!!! However, as a student who doesnt have that much money all i wanted was to share a few laughs with my friends so we rocked up and paid the $20 entrance fee. Little did I know I would be hassled throughout the whole show by a waiter who was nagging me to pay for 2 drinks (2 meters aways from the comedians on stage!!!) which an FYI wasnt stated prior to that. It was very uncomfortable and took away the fun from the event.P.S. - The 4 stars is for the comedians and not the venue.
Not at all busy, great night, very secluded and personal. A load of acts, wouldnt say they are famous or even known but just a good relatively cheap night. Drinks atmedium in price so expect to be paying around $15 minimum for non alcoholic drinks, $20 for alcohol
Good spot, great local talent - good to see process with the less experienced performances as well.
Service is very rude and takes advantage of people. Doesnt let you know theres a two drink minimum per person until you buy the tickets. Added more than 20% tip to bill and would not remove it. Stood in front of us while a comedian was performing to force us to order drinks.
This is hands down the best place in NYC so much fun and very good comics
This place is amazing. Food is fresh. Staff makes you feel like family. My brother and sis in law in Las Vegas cannot WAIT to come back!
Update: someone from management reached out via handwritten letter with a confirmation of the full refund and apologizing for what happened, as well as offering free tickets to a future showing, hoping to remediate our bad experience.==They sell tickets for specific times, but fear not, they can still turn you down cause they are full. They literally oversold the show by over 100 people and then tried to justify it that people but tickets months in advance.
The 2h shows with the 7 performers was so funny !The cons, we pay 25$ each from one of their official street seller and some peoples pay 10$, that’s not fair !Behind the ticket it was specify free appetizer but the waiter refuse to honor it and said that it was not include...Cocktails (from 9$ to 12$) are good, for unknown reason the first one was big and the second one half size... (same price)
Pretty cool for 12 bucks. Be aware of 2 drink minimum. Totally back street, no frills.
Its a down to earth location, food was great, the hot wings needed to spicy but it was buffalo wings not little wings. You get your money worth. The comedians were funny.
The best budget friendly comedy club in NYC by far!!!! This is the comedy club we take all our friends and family too. Their drinks are reasonably priced and taste great! The comics are hilarious and you will definitely be laughing the whole time! Highly recommended️
Very tight seating, no room to stretch out. Very hot in the club as well. Comedians were great and the host was hilarious. We had 4 different drinks and they all literally tasted the same, strong cheap vodka. Could use some attention to maintenance
Club was great, however the guy who sold us tickets lied about who was playing that night. Not impressed.
If you want to know what an old school comedy club is like, the type that doesnt need barkers who harass hayseeds walking at Times Square, then go to Broadway Comedy, where the history is right on the wall and the laughs are on the stage.
Its nothing like their advertise. Its more like a scam: u got to pay for the tickets, and at the door u got to pay for drink/food. And the stand ups are pretty bad.
Great little comedy club. Some comedians were really funny, others not so much. If you’re looking for a late night activity in uptown Manhattan, check out this little gem.
Awesome club, I’ve seen national acts at this club and always have a great time when I stop by. Comics range from finalists on NBC’s last comic standing to comics who’ve had specials on HBO, Netflix, Comedy Central, etc. Every time I’ve gone I’ve had a great time.
Look this place is a fun time, I got a groupon that made it really affordable and came with 2 free drinks. They make it obvious that there is a 2 drink minimum the drinks are ok cocktails are 11$ I did not eat any of the food. The comedians were really funny some were new some had been doing it for awhile.I laughed a lot if a comedian came out that you did not find funny its only for about 15min and they be gone replaced by a new person.I enjoyed my time here.
Saw about 8 different comics. 4 were great! $25 admission is well worth it!
The tickets to enter were already $30 each person. But then on top of that they had a 2 drink minimum.
Their employees sold us ball drop tickets for NYE for 30$ each and told us that we could enter times-square with those tickets. This was obviously a lie. We went there to tell them about it. They didnt even looked at the sellers name and tried to lure us in an empty show room.
Some of the comedians were very funny, clever, with new topics, very enjoyable. The ones later in the show were not funny at all- in fact painfully not funny. The venue itself was uncomfortable and unpleasant. The seats were crowded together, no room to move or shift to get comfortable. The pipes overhead dripped the entire night, onto people and tables. The required 2 drinks are not even worth mentioning.A shame to have such an unpleasant atmosphere when one wants to enjoy and support new comedians.
Comics were hit-and-miss, and then you has a cover charge, and a two-drink minimum. Bring cash for cover. And watch out for the center seat, upfront it leaks a little water from above which gives the comedian something to make fun of, but its probably less fun for the person sitting there.
WATCH YOUR TAB AND CHANGE! Got ripped-off by the waiter. (5-8ish dark hair tattoos) He did a switch out of a twenty dollar bill like a magician and claimed I didnt put the right amount of money on the table. He said I made the mistake. Petty Thief. It would take a dozen of their watered-down drinks for me to miscount $67. The comics were good but the theft incident left a bad taste in my mouth. I wont go back.
Saw some great sets tonight. Definitely will come back again.
Great night out with new and upcoming comedians, well worth a visit
Small but not bad only issue is the food is ok and seems like microwaved supermarket food ( the fries and chicken tenders ). You have to buy a drink if you want to sit down which is confusing to me because if you dont sit there is no bar area to stand by
