Awesome!!!!! The Comal River is so clear and clean! Feels so good during these HOT summer days. I will definitely come back. There are deer just wandering around on the property, tons of birds. Huge oak trees create so much shade on the lawn. This is my first time here, and I could not be happier with this place

Love this place so much my 3rd year here will be coming more I went in the water saw fish and more I have pictures of the deer so nice beautiful viewing nice clean its the best I totally recommend my sister loved the park to and has grills to cook burgers and amazing restraunts.!

The whole place was amazing. Sarah at the front office went above & beyond to make our tubing trip possible with my handicapped brother. We will definitely go back.

I have been visiting T.O.P. since the early 1990s. The location is perfect. You can easily walk down to the beautiful clear Comal and play all day. They can accommodate all size groups. There is a centrally located large play ground. Check on parking passes for your unit before you go. If you have many people arriving in separate vehicles it could be a problem.T.O.P. is family oriented. My children are now taking their childen there!

Love this place. Large rooms fair price staff is always excellent. Property grounds are always well-maintained which makes it nice to sit out along the river. If you’re interested in floating the comal river there’s no better place to stay. It can get very busy during the summer so don’t be surprised if you don’t book early enough you might not get a room. Some great local eateries close by. Check it out you will enjoy yourself!

We have been coming to The Other Place for 15 years each 4th of July. Love it! Friendly staff, great rooms, fantastic location on the Comal. Truly one of a kind. Highly recommend staying here if you havent been.

We had a Company weekend at the Other Place. Everyone enjoyed their stay & loved the Location. The playground was the favorite place for the little ones. The outdoor area has lots of shade & of course if youre too hot, just float down the river. Lots of BBQ pits & different picnic areas. We were there for Labor Day weekend & there is plenty of room for everyone. Met a family that has had Family Reunions there for 27 years. Now I know why they come back. The owners & staff go out of their way to make sure you have what you need & enjoy your stay. Cant wait to go back!

Oh my goodness. The best place for families to vacation or just for a three day weekend. There is so much to do, ride the river, volley ball, horse shoes, playground equipment, outdoor grills to cook on. A calm relaxing river ride, just floating. Feed the deer, ducks and birds. It is so relaxing. The deer pictures were taken from the porch of my room.

Great location right on the Comal river. Its shallow enough around the shore for the kids to play without a tube. Great lawn area with around 9 small deer living on the grounds. Common area in the middle to congregate with family/friends to eat or let the kids play on the playground. You can rent tubes and a shuttle ride. Compressed air to blow up your tubes. The cabins themselves are just okay. Very dated and roaches around.

Cons: Not enough parking spaces for a resort of this size!Pavement and walkways to our unit was broken up, difficult to negotiate and not ADA compliant. The duplex for 2-4 people is tiny! The counter space in kitchen is taken up by microwave & coffee maker. Loose handles on pans made it difficult & unsafe to use.Not enough dishes such as bowls for mixing & serving foods. Sofa is broken on one end and VERY uncomfortable. Bathroom is the size of what you have in a camper or Class B RV and has no ventilation or AC vented to it. There are no screens on the bathroom window so open at your own risk.Pros: AC WAS INCREDIBLE & it was 102° outside. The beds are SUPER comfortable. Theres a dishwasher! Watching the deer from the private balcony and view of the Comal River was fantastic!Will return and book one of the houses with more space but NEVER again on a major holiday.

No complaints! Seems like a fair price for good amenities. Location is awesome for getting in and out of the river and just chilling on the bank. When we go back to NB well probably stay here again.

Have to give The Other Place 5 stars based on the memories made here alone. Love the location, the security, and of course the town its in. So much fun and the accommodations are very comfy and cozy to say the least. Also the other guests are friendly and will play Volleyball games in groups.

The is the best place to stay if you want to float the Comal. There is no other place like it. You can float the river for hours, 25 minutes at a time, and then a quick walk across the parking lot for another 25 minutes of floating.Now, the rooms, are like a motel 6 or super 8, sometimes even like an hourly motel. They can get away with having sub par rooms because of the location their property sits on. I have stayed here about 5-7 times and I will be back again, because of the river, not because of the rooms. Our stay this time came with an invited guest that climbed the wall and fell from the ceiling onto the dining table.That being said, the grounds are kept very clean. There is always staff out there picking up trash and twigs.

Cute little spot for a family getaway!!!!

Many of my favorite memories have been at The Other Place. Our family tradition for many years was to go to The Other Place for Thanksgiving weekend. New Braunfels and Gruene are both beautiful in the fall. The Other Place resort has a nice playground in the middle. The resort is on a hill surrounded on three sides by the Comal River. The fishing is pretty good, and you may see some deer on the property as well. The staff is friendly, and the rooms have always been clean. Im sure the experience in the summer for tubing and Schlitterbahn season is very different, but just as great.

Cute rental for the weekend. Continent location for floating the river and getting out at their stairs, then right to your room. Good service. Very clean.

Stove broke, needs updsting, worth $75 less than charging a night.

Location is amazing. Rooms are clean but otherwise unimpressive.

Love the convince of this place. The people are really nice. It is a family oriented place. I love the room views and we got to see deer everywhere everyday! My 2 year old loved snacking and watching them graze. The rooms have what you need! We cooked every meal we had there for a week. Had no need to go to eat. Full size fridge and stove! Flat screen tv with cable to entertain if needed! Kitchen table and chairs. Depending on the room u get they can be spacious. Lost of closets and storage places!

Other than the rooms needing to be updated, the place was nice. I think it all needs to brought in to the 90s.

Perfect for families, free tubing if you have your own tubes. Nice, relaxing float of about 45 minutes around the horseshoe; easy in and out. Also, small area for a kiddie pool. Large rooms and well appointed kitchen.

We have been coming here for years. The staff are extremely nice. This place is beautiful. You get in and float right to your cabin. Its a great place for grown ups and kids.

We took a long weekend vacation to The Other Place and did not know what to expect. From the minute we showed up, it was one surprise after another. The grounds are amazing with the river wrapping all the way around the property. It was like having your own lazy river access without any shuttle or walk. The cabins were spacious and the staff was very accommodating. We will definitely be back for another visit.

We found this location during a previous visit when we stayed at the condos next door. This year was our visit here and we absolutely loved it. Right next to schlitterbahn & the comal but still feel like you are out in the woods. They have lots of resident momma and baby deer. We will definitely be back. Great place for family vacations.

Good place family has been coming here for decades now they are renovating the dates cabin... nothing major but much better.

Great place right on the water!

Playground could use a proper slide, but otherwise its a cool place thats just out of the way enough to be quiet, but still close to the action.

I am so very happy with the sealer,primer we put on the new Sheetrock was wonderful and it makes the paint go on great and I love the paint it went on so easily and looks beautiful the Clark was very knowledgeable and helpful thank you so very much for such a wonderful products

Great views! Quiet place to get away for a little bit. The apartments are spacious and sometimes you get to see some deer and other wildlife!

Very friendly nice clean and many many family friendly attractions. Would recommend to everyone. Great Riverside cabins with parking right in front. Playground BBQ pits volleyball washers and etc. Right across from the new park @ Schlitterbahn.

I have loved this place for 30 years. This year not so much. WiFi does not work anywhere except out in the courtyard. The pool that is advertised has not worked for at least 3 years. It is really rundown. And the icing on the cake, I just got my bill ($200 per night) and in order not to be charged for cleaning services I must take out the trash, wash dishes, put them in the cabinets, place all towels in the shower and straighten all cushions and anything that isnt where it was when I arrived. I am not gping to pay $200 a night to clean my own cabin. The plus is location.

I have been coming to New Braunfels for 10 years now. Staying at Camp Werneke and the Inverness has been great! The easy access to the river makes the trip so much better. My only complaint comes from the security that is so tight and rude to the guests. They have only been around 3 or 4 of the years Ive been here and it causes more stress than necessary.

It is an amazing place my family has been going there for almost 60 years it has been a wonderful place for the family to get together. For the ones who love the out doors it is a great place to be, you can float the river all day when ever you want. the only down side or it could be a plus is that there is no tvs or microwaves. but it helps the family come together and to get out and do something ... in over all it is a great place to go

Our favorite home away from home.

Nice location and friendly people. A little out dated but well up kept and nice to get away from modern time. No pool but who needs one with the river and Schlitterbahn being right there. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 4 Queen with king pullout, #239 that had one of the best views of the river. Floating the River from one end of the property to the other was about 20-25 minutes and the water is clear. A shuttle can drive you further upriver for an hour and a half float back to The Other Place. Overall very peaceful, natural and relaxing.

Keeps coming up on my Google Maps reviews though Ive never been there and have continued to tell Google Maps to either dismiss the suggestion or acknowledge that Ive never been there. It even continues to display as a blank, recommended review after Ive added this note in a review.

Amazing and relaxing place to stay

Stay here every year its a great family place.

We stayed at the other place for 2 nights. Its a very homely area and the accommodations are great. The park is wonderful and its right off the river. Definitely a great time. Only problem is that the Wi-Fi doesnt reach the back lodges very well.

The Other Place is our favorite place on the rivers. Its location is convenient for floating down from Landa Park or just floating around the horseshoe surrounding the campsite. The service has always been friendly and the cabins are adequately appointed with horseshoes, swings and volleyball in the center area. Very family friendly and the Comal is always a good float due to the springs.
