The park is small, quaint and fun. We picked this park because they had a fast lazy river - 10 mph. Unfortunately it was closed. The other lazy river is almost too slow, it takes almost 15 min to do a leisure lap. One star off for the fact that in the south Carolina sun, the concrete is beyond hot, to the point that despite wearing socks, both my kids got severe blisters. The park should do an effort to either mist the pavement or install high density carpet that can absorb the heat. They were also out of water shoes. One star off because we didnt feel we got value with the cabana rental. For $138, we expected a bit more. The food was meh at best. The kids running the kitchen seemed a little lost. If you are willing to overlook those details, come early to get a shady spot, young kids will have fun. I dont think teenagers will enjoy it as much.
Last year (2019) I had a season pass, and it was wonderful. I recently went and bought discounted tickets on Groupon and once I got to the gates Myrtle Waves said I had to pay the taxes on them. Please include that in your Groupon. Also, the lazy river was so dirty with only 1 entrance. What was the goal for only entrance? Squeeze everyone in with one entrance so we dont social distance. You cant swim in half the wave pool since it was closed on the deep end. I stood in line for an hour at one of the slides then attendent said I could not ride by myself which has never been an issue in the past. Dont think I will ever go back to Myrtle Waves.
Visited the park on 8/26/20 with a group of 9, adults and children. Rented one of their large cabanas (~$137 with tax), 2 senior, 2 child, and 5 adult passes (~$238 with tax). Add in a few overpriced food and drink purchases and were at close to $400 spent for 6 hours of essentially only being able to use the Saturation Station (Which wasnt even fully open). With the purchase of the cabana we were told we would be given 4 souvenir cups with 99 cent refills, 4 bottled waters, and we were given 2 souvenir buckets with 1 free popcorn voucher each. Once arriving at our cabana, there were no drink cups to be found, instead we were told they were sold out. Fair enough, we should still be able to get at least 4, 99 cent drinks right? Not quite, we were then told at 2 different snack stations that because we didnt have souvenir cups (That did not exist) we could not get any drinks at that price. Our group intentionally picked the date we went because the weather was going to be great, which it was. Yet after paying full price to enter the park, we came to find that multiple slides were closed, and Saturation Station was half closed because apparently 2 life guards just isnt enough to cover what is essentially a large playground with water. On top of that the slides that were open were being guarded by some college-aged kids that probably didnt know where they were. They offered no assistance with anyone going down the slides, no direction on how to do it safely, at best you would hear a muffled Go from behind their mask (At least they were doing that right). You had children diving down the slides head first, backwards, multiple people at at time etc. When my wife dared to ask in the wave pool where we could get a tube for our daughter to float on, the life guard muscled up the strength to tell us we had to Win them. Whatever the hell that means. We ended our fateful day by stopping by the customer service area to at least talk to someone over the age of 18. Thinking maybe we could at least air our frustrations to someone that might care, maybe we could get a small refund, or a glimmer of hope that this place is ran like an actual business and not a county fair. Sadly our efforts were for nothing, the young girl who was supposedly the manager, seemed nice but only offered the excuse that multiple staff had called off or quit and they were understaffed But thanks for bringing this to our attention. All jokes aside the bottom line is this. This place is outdated, in need of a major face lift, the bathrooms were disgusting, every hand sanitizing station I went to was empty. No social distancing guidelines were being enforced anywhere, some staff wore a mask, some did not. There were very few flotation devices available, multiple slides closed, customer service was non-existent and they dont even honor their own advertising. If you decide to bring your family here, before you go in, just stand in the parking lot and light your money on fire. Chances are youll feel better and save yourself from getting sun burnt while being swindled.
The pros: small crowd, warm ride water, good food prices. The cons: not all rides open and they charge the full price. Wave pool is a joke. Waited about one hour in the pool for the action to begin only for it to last 10 minutes. The life guards didnt know whem theyd start back up. Been to some amazing water parks up and down the east coast but this one is at the bottom.
This was the highlight of our extended familys trip to MB for the 4th of July. They have put in several new slides since we last visited years ago. I liked how the park has something for kids of all ages. We also had plenty of seating in the shade, close to the kid pools and slides. The lemonade wasnt the best, but the pizza was surprisingly good for a water park. lifeguards were attentive without being over-the-top on the rules. We had a good time and will come back in the future.
The rides were okay. You can definately tell the park is old. Everything is falling apart or in need of a little love. The last day of the season is tomorrow and I went today. I was disappointed in the food. They were out of everything. The little room i reserved was definitely overpriced. The lifeguards were all friendly. The staff working the food stations were being yelled at by customers everytime i walked by because of the lack of food or drink. My girls had a blast though and it was our first time there so now i know what to expect next year. Bring water shoes.
We went around 2 and they closed at 6. Would have been nice to get some money off but its ok.... they offer military discount so thats great! There was a lot to do and lines werent too long. Lifeguards were nice and friendly. Had a good time with one parent and 6 kids!
Worst water park I’ve ever been to. Totally run down, felt like I had time traveled to the early 2000’s. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, toilet paper all over the floors, and reeked of urine. Bottom of the lazy river was slimy. To beat it all.... went to the women’s shower/changing room to find a big pile of dook in one of the showers. I can’t make this up, after I saw that my husband and I left. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Also not very many water slides.
The pool at our condo was closed due to covid so my wife and i decided to spend the day here with our 3 year old. The 3 year old loved it. The wave pool was fun, but you cant wear inflatable arm bands, and the baby pool has fun things to play with for the kids. But the real winner was the toddler water slides. My little girl loved them!I would have given this place 5 starts, but when we went to get food no one there knew what they were doing. The food is what I expected, but the staff could care less you were standing there.
Lovely place to spend the day. Tired of sandy beaches? Theres no sand here! We try to make a stop here once a year and its definitely worth getting a Cabana. Lots of slides, tubing and a wave pool. At times it can be crowded, but we always enjoy our stay. The food can be expensive, but thats expected on vacation.
Our favorite family vacation water park. I found this deal on Groupon. We had a blast. Facilities were clean except the family bathrooms and I loved the fact that there were picnic tables outside and we did not have to buy the water park food. Only downside is that the website says they close at 9 but they literally closed at 6.
It was alright. Been too way better. Essentially for little ones we only found the lazy river and wave pool to be of use. And the young female lifeguard at the wave pool was beyond rude!
Its awfully expensive for what you get. It was $100 for myself my thirteen-year-old son and my nine-year-old daughter. the place needs a few things renovated cleaned up fixed up especially the bathrooms come on. some more places in the shade would be nice to that you dont have to pay for we already paid $100 to get in. is typical you cant bring food and you cant bring drinks and supposedly we brought some in anyway and terrible food at outrageous prices we didnt try it so I cant say for sure. Everall a good experience into the positive but plenty of negatives as well. Would I go back? Its about fifty-fifty odds a coin flip whether I would or not
Fun and plenty to do all day long. On a crowded day lines can be too long. Luckily only 1 out of many visits had to deal with this.
The staff doesn’t want to be there.... they are rude when they spoke and most of the time ignored you completely. We didn’t feel welcome at all. The wave pool didn’t impress. The staff is kids who are not friendly or personable. Also some one offered my eight year old a beer. Don’t care if I go back.
Water slides were the best! And hardly any lines when I went. Lazy river was super dull or i would have given 5 stars.
Super fun park, lots of stuff to do drinks and food are a bit pricey but that to be expected in a place like this. The kids loved it and the adults all had fun too, worth checking out if youre on vacation in myrtle beach during the summer
Customer service was good and helpful. There was plenty life guards. Bathrooms and changing rooms are disgusting. Needs to be cleaned and update. Overall it was good.
Website says price is $26.99 but its $29.99 per adult and the 3 biggest slides were out of commission. Couldnt go in the deep end of wave pool, which is only 6ft deep. Im assuming due to corona the lazy river is limited but there was only maybe 15-20 tubes allowed in river and only 1 entrance open.
So Much Fun. If you want to get out and enjoy Myrtle Beach, this place is it. My 5 yr old daughter had the time of her life.
Smaller crowds due to covid-19. Place needs maintenance done more frequently. The measures taken for protection due to covid were a joke. We ordered food and the people cooking and also working behind counter werent wearing masks or had them on their chins or foreheads. If you are going to post signs requiring guests to wear masks then you need to enforce the same policy for your staff. They were out of several soft drinks. Some food had run out by mid day and certain vendors also actually closed up hours before the park closed. We rented their special cabana which is screened in. The screens were a joke. They were damaged and not installed and clearly hadnt been maintained in a long time. They wouldnt keep a bird out, let alone flies and mosquitoes. Our cabana wasnt cleaned. There was a pair of kids underwear and a bathing suit hanging up in plain sight. Clearly no one had checked the cabanas condition before it was rented. Doubt anyone sanitized anything either. This place could be awesome but instead it is just rundown.
Fun place for the all ages, very pricey for what you get. I can take a family of 4 on a three day cruise for the same price as 1 day at this park. The food is very expensive but gross, no pride in anything being cooked. Very cheap ingredients. The hamburger meat was definitely a mystery. The entire staff are rude and disrespectful. Even the supervisors yell at guest and call them stupid or senseless.
Great way to cool off and people-watch. Not to mention the incredible slides and pools that are available. Dont miss the toilet bowl which takes you down a covered slide into a round reservoir and after circling several times in the bowl you shoot through the pipe at the bottom and to the pool. Its really hysterical and lots of fun. Love The lazy River, too. Nice way to relax and just float.
(Went here in July 2019)There arent that many rides to begin with, and during my stay almost half of them were shut down for either repairs or a chance of a storm happening. There was visible lightning in the distance and they still kept the slide towers, lazy river, and wave pool activated. A bit confusing but not that big of a deal. The lazy river was pretty dirty, had a lot of dirt and bugs in there. Some attractions were showing visible wear.Overall experience wasnt horrible but could definitely be better.
It was fun liked the water park and theres areas for little kids ti entertain while the older kids or adults are at the big slides
Its run down, most of the kiddy sprinklers didnt work, the lazy river is too shallow and there are no sprinklers along it either like wild water and wheels. Seriously need to make time to fix that place up, at least the staff was nice I guess.
Family of four on vacation. Found a groupon for around $100 . Stayed open until 4 pm and had so much fun ! All the life guards were super nice and all the lines were super short . Will be back !!
First time going here after coming to Myrtle Beach every year for our yearly family vacation. We loved this place. Food prices were great deals.
A great time on a hot day! Went during the middle of the week and it was not crowded. Most people tried to social distance. That was a little more challenging in the wave pool.
Cute little water park not too far away from the beach. Its got about 7 solid rides seems more ideal for kids then adults.
They need more kid friendly pools. One small kiddie pool isnt enough most times for the number of children that attend the park daily. The saturation station is nice and my kids enjoy the slides.
A lot of fun for the family. I recommend getting tickets on Groupon for a good discount.
Excellent place for kids..loved every moment of it..i had to drag my kids out of the park as they didnt want to leave.. lol
Pretty fun especially since we went after 5 on Friday for half price...theres not enough to take up more time for this 50 something. Younger folks should be able to spend the day. One of my partys flip flops were stolen, so watch your stuff!
Food department mangers are unprofessional and love taking sides of certain situations and dont even be knowing what be going on.. Very unorganized, and fake dont see how they let some ppl like that run food I can see all through they BS..
There were a few things that werent open even in perfect weather, I think they were understaffed. The customer service was nice, the first day we went they closed withing an hour of opening for rain but they gave us vouchers to come back.
Really enjoy going to this waterpark, friendly staff and watchful lifeguards. Pizza is highly recommended and the beer garden has a nice assortment.
Awsome waterslide. Hours of fun for the whole family. Only downside to this place was their restrooms were disgusting! Should have someone cleaning them all the time!
We get family passes every year and we absolutely love going to Myrtle waves!
Not bad, alittle dated, concrete sidewalks are rough enough to eat the skin on your feet, but still fun
Super fun... a bit pricey.
The weather started off cloudy but we still had an amazing time. My grandchildren are in from Ohio visiting and cant wait to return to go to the water park
I dislike this place so much! truly gross, bathrooms are never clean, staff is so rude!!!! i’ve given this place many chances and definitely don’t recommend unless you want horrible service
Great time great rides.... but dont forget your towels lol you will get wet!
Great park, lots of slides for different ages! The only thing is the shade tents cost over $100 which is way overpriced.
Love this place!! But not crazy about having to carrying the tubes up all those stairs..
The bathroons were disgusting. The water slides were just ok. The wave pool was ok but it took forever between waves and they werent that great
My grandchildren had a blast. Not one of them said Im bored the entire day!
It was fun, expensive food and very hot sidewalks, flip flops RECOMENDED! Overall pretty good.
Loved it had a great time for the most part minus the part where when I come down one of the water slides upon entrance of water at bottom because of my long legs my leg was jammed maybe the depth of the water should be changed on a couple of those slides
This place was very fun Im not very fond of water slides but I really enjoyed myself theres plenty of fun for the whole family I highly recommend
Our family had a great time. Tickets can be a bit pricey with larger families, possibly check for deals. The prices of the concessions inside the park were honestly very fair priced we thought. Lazy river is big, wave pool is nice, many options for slides...lines werent that bad considering it was a weekday and summer time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this water park
The females at the entrance to the park were just flat out rude. I go here at least once a summer. Worst season so far.
Great cool place for the family. Cute area for bday parties. All ages can have a full fun day.
It was great I had lots of fun but the only problem I had was they need to have someone monitor the bathroom it was not clean
Had a great time. Multiple rides, multiple times.
Great park for Cheap, not to many rides, free parking, great employees (I was there in the middle of the summer of 2017.)
It is a lot of fun. They keep updating things which is really nice.
Whole ton of fun! Better than wild water and wheels for sure!
Great place, but only open intil 5pm..... especially on a Saturday!!!
During our family beach vacation in July, we wanted to take a break from the beach in the middle of our week and have fun elsewhere. We decided to go to Myrtle Waves and it was such a good time! All of the kids had a blast on just about all of the water slides, as well as the adults. We arrived around 12:30pm and stayed until the park closed at 6pm. It is definitely worth the money. We will be back next year!
So much fun! And tge staff are all so welcoming amd freindly. So bear in mind that I have the worlds most social and independent 9 year old, and i work 7 days a week so my 5 day annual vacay is a move as little as possible mindset & my kids is the antithesis of mine. I was able to lounge while watching her have a blast with her brand new freinds, with very minimal movement from me (and several beers {draft, yum!} thanx to our 8 minute Lyft ride from the hotel cuz mamas done driving for a few days). This place was some very reasonably priced relaxtion for mommy/exhausting fun for a nine year old, I highly recommend. P.S. The corn dogs, mozz stix, smoothies & shock top are all on point, so I would assume the things we didnt try follow suit.
Enjoyed the day. Not too busy and was family friendly.
Staff was the best. Will continue to visit and would definitely recommend.
Alot of slides and alot of fun!
Great park with lots of seating. You can eat in the park or go to a picnic area and bring your own lunch. Theres plenty of free parking!
Family of 9 enjoyed ourselves here. Nice get away from the ocean hotel pool life. Since we went during off season some of the food stations were closed but there were still plenty others to choose from. Water slides could have had more tubes available but we managed. Could use a little updating but all in all it satisfied our needs. Couple large shelter areas with plenty of picnic tables to eat at. Smoking section for smokers.
Great place to relax and splash around for adults and kids alike. Super friendly staff. Rent a cabana for the shade and comfort.
Thanks to our family quite some years back, they made sure all the slides were safe. After a life-threatening trip they ascertained that all rides were secure. We have been on multiple occasions thereafter and can truly say that this waterpark is awesome.
A little pricey, but a lot of fun! Even for us grown-ups!
This water park was just lame compared to others I’ve been to. I’m glad we didn’t pay full price for our tickets because $21 seemed like all the entry fee was worth. There was advertised 99¢ refills on souvenir cups but they don’t tell you there is tax on the refills so if you don’t have enough money on you before realizing that too bad, don’t get the soda they already poured for you I guess. Also there was an hour wait for a ride that was not even 30seconds but very easy to get stuck on as well as having to watch your legs on other rides to. Staff only corresponds to each other through cell phones which just looks unprofessional as well as some rides leaking profusely. We were there for barely an hour before they shut everything down over one rumble of thunder but no rain or lightning approaching yet. We wanted to get food but it was all ridiculously overpriced for what it’s worth. We ended up paying almost $14 for three pretzels. It wouldn’t have been as bad if you could bring in your own food if you wanted to but nope. I’d like to think they overprice everything else because their gift shop gets literally no business because there’s barely anything in there, none of which would make a nice souvenir because it was all generic, unbranded beach shirts, sun dresses, and sun glasses. Long story short there’s a lot better places to go in myrtle beach than this, we were having more fun with the pools and lazy rivers at the hotel we’re staying at. Save your money!
It was so fun for you he whole family
It was pretty nice though on of the workers are rude and others dont do their job others then that its really fun and I suggest going when they open around 10 its not as crowded so that wait for the lines take almost no time
Loved all of the waterslides and pools very nice place
Wish they would of had more coverage on the floor from the heat we where all burning our feet and they wont allow water shoes on the rides.
Its small but fun and worth the price.
Its a really fun place to go for children. Although as an adult, the kiddie section is bound to get boring, they DO sell alcohol. Major bonus! The reason I limited my stars to 4 is because they closed so early in July - or perhaps they were having an event. I know we had to leave early.
Nice waterpark. If you dont ride the awesome slides they have a childrens area, lazy river and a wave pool.
Enjoyed it, but would have been upset if I had to pay. But everyone has what they like so Id say go for the experience, you will have fun. Lockers are available for purchase, parking is free and close and the wave pool is awesome.
I had so much fun there
Lots of fun but could definitely be cleaner, lazy river very dirty, bathrooms are gross and did not have soap or paper towel, I would expect better during these times.
As a whole, our trip to Myrtle Waves went about as well as one would expect a trip to a water park to go. Generally speaking, you can usually get through most of the slides pretty quickly and that was indeed the case here as well. After exhausting all the slides the park had offer, we took a dip in the wave pool and made a few laps around the lazy river. We also had lunch in the park, but the food was lacking in most aspects. The pricing for what you got left much to be desired, but my rating was decided upon entirely by the fact that we did have fun, albeit for only a few hours. Overall, it was a nice way to cool off on a warm summer day.
Had an awesome time with the family during our mini vacation.
It was amazing and we didnt have to wear a mask
I am a local from Myrtle beach, i used to enjoy Everytime I come here but today was my first time going in to the park this year, and absolutely regret going, the wave pool rope was shifted to make it smaller ( totally against social distancing), the lazy river was just nasty, the water is just white and blurry with one entrance that just put all people in one place which again against ( social distancing )blocking all other entrancs and last I wanted to ride the loop slide and Im by myself, waited 25 minutes in the line for the life guard to tell me I cant ride by myself where I made sure to read the rules before I wait in the line, so inconvenient, spend about one hour of just time wasting .
I loved it. Only issue I had was nothing on them. My family tried to look for a public water park that was open before June, and they are. But it took us 2 1/2 hour to get to it. But everything was great. There was no parking fee, and we got tickets online so they were a little bit cheaper. The food was good price too, and starting soon they will have movie night Thursdays at the big wave pool. I want to go back again.
Its easy to navigate. If you dont want to walk across the park, just use the lazy river!! There are numerous convenient areas to enter and exit the lazy river. They offer a smoking area if you smoke. It too is convenient! There are plenty of chairs and there is even a covered area with chairs. These are all free with park admission. The price to upgrade searing to a Cabana is a little ridiculous, so Im glad there are plenty of spots. The price of admission is pretty average, and consessions are affordable.
We had a wonderful time here
Great Revival looking in the parking area
They are trying but limiting the tubes are causing lines that dont need to be. If you are trying to enforce social distancing, do it on the slide steps instead of the tube line. There were lines when there didnt need to be.
