Absolutely gorgeous place. Very well maintained!!! I strongly recommend checking it out in the fall and spring ... but of course summer with all the flowers is a reason everyone goes there. Unfortunately the Japanese garden is closed but hopefully will be reopened soon
This place was magical. The diversity and arrangement of plants at the Arboretum in Moscow, ID was magnificent! I want to share this gorgeous place with all of my family. I know they all will be impressed by the beauty of it. The whole place was incredible especially early in the morning as the sun was trickling in through the trees just starting to warm the air as the grass was covered in dew.
Outstanding place, Ive taken poeple here from a few different parts of the country and they all say theyve never seen anything like it. Highly recommend you walk though at least once in your life.
Looking forward to seeing it with snow and in the Spring as well. But even in the Fall it is beautiful.
Great for late night stress walks. Kinda dark though.
We went during the weekend and saw a few people walking around with cameras and cellphones. Additionally, we saw a few people having picnics and lots of fauna flying in. During May, most trees and flowers were fully bloomed and the air smells refreshing and absolutely something to wander through. Dress lightly and make sure to check the weather, a few hours later there was thunder storms.
This is a quick and interesting glimpse into the species of the area and parts of the world. The arboretum covers a sizable area and the topography creates a serene central walk.Go identity different types of coniferous tree and take a peaceful moment.
Winding looped Trails take you on a self guided exporation of trees from all over the world. Each tree or grouping of trees is meticulously labeled on each tree with a metal tag, as well as a small ground labels at the base for easier reading. I took my time on a cold March walking around this park, and only stayed about an hour because it was drizzling and cold, but found a turtle and stayed a little longer exploring the ponds edge. Lots of room for lots of groups. Parking might be difficult as it said we parked in a purple zone near the ISU golf couse. Easy walk through a valley with lots of routes you can take. Be prepared for weather and walking on slight inclines, gravel and bark covered paths make this a pretty wide trail good for groups
Beautifully maintained, educational, and glouriously majestic.
Nice place for a walk or just to enjoy the quiet and the outdoors. Wouldnt recommend coming here at night, but during the day, its a wonderful place.
I still love the older Arboretum but the new one with the botanical gardens is worth seeing, especially since they keep up with it!
Well cared for environment, easy to get to, and well shaded on hot days.
Visited the place in November. Would have been more beautiful during spring and summer. Nonetheless, a wonderful experience.
Love taking walks with my kids or alone thru here.
About a mile around. Lovely. Some parking on the golf course parking lot. Google directions say left, but follow the signs to the right.
Great display of trees and shrubs. There is parking at the golf course as well as the main entrance.
Always a beautiful walk!
This place is so beautiful. Its nice to bring your whole family to and its free.
Wonderful place where you can refresh your soul.
Very low light pollution at night for stargazing.
One of the more beautiful attractions in Moscow for sure. Any season this place has much to appreciate. Walking trails, ponds, benches and much more to enjoy as you walk through this very well maintained area right on the Idaho campus.
This is the perfect place to visit in the fall. Lots of red, orange, and yellow leaves. The ponds and variety of trees and plants are beautiful. Fairly easy to walk, though a little hilly.
Beautiful! Lots of cool trees!
This has some of the most unique fauna in Moscow, perhaps the whole palouse region. There are many different places to explore and there are always tons of things to do. I suggest visiting during the spring and early summer, as well as during the fall, the colors during those times are particularly stunning. A couple things to remember are-There are ponds, with geese, especially during migration there will be a lot of goose poop in these areas.-There isnt a bathroom, that I know of, so if you have little children this is important to remind them of.-The University uses reclaimed water to keep the Arboretum green, this is not something you want to drink, so I advise keeping children out of the sprinklers.Other than that, the arboretum is great for hiking during any time of year, and the trails are well maintained and easy to walk on.
Great place for walking. I took family pics here one winter, beautiful picturesque barn. Good parking space
Love it. Peaceful. Nice trails
Wonderful place to walk and enjoy the lovely greenery.
Always the best place to visit in the fall. Completely beautiful.
Fall and spring are the most beautiful times there!
Nice place for a stroll!
Lots of critters and beautiful flora!
I did not get a chance to walk through the arboretum or botanical gardens. We performed an elopement close to the entrance, and an incredibly beautiful and peaceful spot. I can only imagine it getting better
Beautiful, peaceful area with great views, amazing vegetation and birds. Would love to come back in the spring but the colors were already beautiful in the winter!
Wonderful surrounding. Visit this place if you are nearby!
Love it! Beautiful place for walks, runs and find the high trails for gorgeous views and sunsets!
This is amazing place to go on hikes.
A wonderful place for taking a walk and enjoying nature
One of Moscow’s “must see” spots. Our Arboretum is beautiful year round. It is so well-planned that there is beauty in all seasons there, and there is much to learn about the plants. There is uphill walking involved, but the slope is not terribly steep. Don’t miss it!
Amazing all year round. Love coming here. Quiet and lovely.
Lovely fall walk
Such a variety of plant and animal life! The ponds are full of fish and turtles.
Trees love growing in Northern Idaho, and this is a great place for an arboretum. One of my favorite parks in the States.
Beautiful and a nice walk if out for day
Really nice and good place to walk take pictures just love it.
One of my favorite place to hang out all the time .. so beautiful and lovely garden to roam with 2 big ponds and all... green and nice park area..
The gem of the Palouse! 55 acres of beautiful trees, trails, and ponds. Lots of wildlife frequents the arboretum. Ive seen rabbits, California quail, ducks, geese, herons, cranes, owls, and all sorts of butterflies. A fabulous place to go to relax or spread a blanket and have a picnic.
Moscow may be a small desolate college town it still has some of its perks. The Arb has got to be the best of both worlds for the young and youthful as well as the mature and passive. With steep dirt and mulch covered trails that wind through out the park. It also offers a somber gravel path.
Best place to be close to nature in summer and fall if you are in or near Moscow. The view is really great.
August 17 I saw a moose whit two cubs
Good place to spend time in summer.
Beautiful place for a walk.
Outstanding Garden the foresight it took to organize this variety of trees is incredible.
Beautiful atmosphere, best time to go is summer months and wet days. Aphids are everywhere during the Fall hot days so try to avoid those times.
Love all the trees, ducks and geese. They have trees and plants from all around the world. Great place to take a long walk.
This place is pretty in any weather.
Great place to hike, or just relax, with an abundance of Pokemon Go stops and gyms lol. I have always enjoyed the tranquility here.
Great place for a walk and to check out some gardening ideas
Rightfully considered one of the jewels of Moscow. Theres no other park like it. Trails are great for walking, running, casually exploring or just smelling the flowers. There are plentiful benches and places to rest distributed periodically. The staff work hard to preserve space for the flora and fauna as well as the all the imported and curated plant life.
The Arboretum is absolutely stunning with its fall colours.
Beautiful at all times of the year. Great place for walks
Great place to walk, relax and decompress.
Its a botanical garden. A wonderful place for walking. Pet allowed. The form of this area is liner from uphill to downhill with gentle slop. Visitor can enter the area from either sides. Uphill entrance is closer to University of Idaho. Both sides entrances have free parking; however more parking bays available in upper side. There are some benches to seat and relax but not a good idea for picnic or camping here.In conclusion, I recommend this place for those who want a walking and enjoy nature and of course a memorable photography especially in fall.
Beautiful, peaceful and serine. Great to sit and visit with old friend.
Beautiful place for pictures!
Great place for a peaceful morning walk
I went with my husband and 2 daughters. It was a bit long for my daughters ages 3 and 5, but I made them walk the entire trail because I love it so much! So fun seeing all the different kind of trees, flowers, and plants!
One of my favorite places in Moscow! The grounds are beautiful and the sheer variety of plants is always interesting. The university events hosted here are nice as well!
Everybody should come to Idaho its a great place to live come visit Jennifer and Larry Norton phone number 0000 Mike you cant do that
One of my favorite places to walk around. Great plants and wildlife.
Its gorgeous and open and private
Its amazing to see how much the arboretum has bloomed since my childhood. So much of the pathways are now shaded by lovely trees. Many plants are labeled and organized by continent.
An absolutely beautiful Park right inside Moscow. The gravel pathway leads you through trees and plants from different areas of the world. Great place for a picnic or just a peaceful walk.
Great place to hide and find painted rocks
Beautiful. We just had our wedding photos here. We also did our engagement photos here. The wonderful weeping willows were where we got engaged. I proposed on the bench right next to the bridge that crosses the stream under a willow.
A very beautiful garden and park. Definitely a place to see. Its even got special plants from each continent, showing what that region is like as far as plant life goes
Its very beautiful and simple looking. The U of I does not try and make it look super fancy which honestly with a botanical garden the plants should be able to really be the focus and they are here. They keep it well cut for the most part and the all the trees and flowers there really make it an amazing walk around. Its a great place to take that special someone or family through. It also has two good size ponds that attract a lot of ducks and geese plus some times you can see a King Fisher come by the ponds as well. The whole place is just a wonderful experience that really requires one to go walking through it themselves.
Its a beautiful place to walk or run through. Several man made ponds with seating dispersed throughout make this a great way to enjoy a sunny day.
Love it here, a great walk and great views.
It is a great place to enjoy greenery and small animals sights
Beautiful, well kept garden, perfect for spending quality time in nature. Lots of space, a little pond and a little Creek, all give it a very genuine, cozy feel
Amazing place
Its a nice little place to walk around
Very nice, peaceful place. Beautiful trees.
Enjoy the flowers
Always a peaceful walk when here
One of the most beautiful places in the Palouse.
Great place to take a walk any season of the year. Awesome walk paths and gorgeous plants!
