Absolutely fantastic! Interactive, exciting, extremely well restored and the guided tour was simply phenomenal. I never expected to stumble upon such a gem of a museum/historic-site here, thank you very much for todays early afternoon of knowledge and fun facts and for all the answers to our questions. Time well spent! Highly recommended.
I love the history in this place. A photographer’s playground or a good place for a photowalk. I walked around snapping shots with my daughter and she enjoyed the walk. Whether taking pictures or just taking a walk, this is a neat place. It’s one of the more interesting places in NJ. Also, notable that it seems to be apart of a National Historic Park. I love National Historic Parks.
Drove here from south Jersey only to find it was closed. Bummer. Looks really well maintained. Speedwell Lake was open, just across the street, but parking was atrocious.
The volunteers Staffing the buildings were very knowledgeable and very friendly. The gentleman who described the procedures for Manning the Cannons was extremely knowledgeable almost like an encyclopedia. The Civil War reenactment was well done.
Great place to bring your family on a nice day! Staff is friendly and the buildings there are old but in good condition. Very historic and very nice.
The telegraph is without a doubt an important invention and this place being its birthplace makes it worth a visit. The museum was very informative and showed the evolution of communication technology since the invention of the telegraph. While the telegraph is mostly associated with Morse, the museum also highlights the lesser known Alfred Vail, whose contributions are as significant. The entire historic complex is made up of picture worthy buildings, one of which is the home of the industrialist Stephen Vail, Alfreds father. There are docent-led tours of the house but the museum is mostly self-guided. You can book the tour at the Visitor Center. Make this your first stop if youre visiting. We were here for two hours.
Historically educational and great reenactment.
Great historic cooking and eating class!
Great place for those interested in the telegraph a d history in general.
Awesome place where you can learn about fascinating history.Well done!️
Very cool, never knew how much early industry was in Morristown.
Great little site. Very well upkept.
I nice little bit of history here. Nice displays and the staff is knowledgeable.
A very nice place to bring the family to.
You have to go to the Gift Shop to start the tour, wondered around for quite some time before we learned this (as this is not usually where I am interested in going first or last) we got a nice tour and there were lots of interactive things to look at in the mill, very educational and interesting place!
A bit of a disappointment. The buildings seen to be suffering from lack of upkeep. The buildings were mostly closed on a Friday in late September so there was not much to see. Go to Washingtons headquarters nearby instead. A much better experience.
If you walk up from Patriots Path youll notice a large pond behind the building.
Such a great place to bring kids and adults! Gives you a peek into our history!
Must see,Birthplace of telegram
Neat place to walk around in and learn.
Peacefull
Woman who lives at this site was rude and threatening. I might go back after shes moved away. She blocked my car in to shout at me.
