I got an an opportunity to see First the Winter along with Elsa Lee here last spring. Fun place to go watch a show. Good food, the server did a good job of getting food and drinks to everyone during the show.I was impressed because from what I heard, they don’t normally allow new bands to play here but they made a great choice. I look forward to seeing other concerts here when things get back to normal!
Went from weekly brunch visits to 2 pick up orders in the entirety of 2020(bc covid). Still the same amazing folks taking care of you, still the same amazing food and drinks. Please keep picking up food, they are an Uptown staple and for good reason!
Drinks are a bit pricey but good. The food is fantastic! I really wish that they served fries though. Ive spent a lot of time at BLB almost three decades now my 27 year old son an his friends hang out there. Weird.
I was here when I was a child. 78 79... It has come into its own. I love this place. Food is awesome. People are awesome. So relaxing and comfortable. The camaraderie is excellent. Bowling is so much fun. Give me a shout. You will not regret it.
Very friendly service in a really cool space. Great beer selections and simple (in a good way) menu. Worth a stop to check out.
My wife and I had a great take-out breakfast from BLB last weekend. We both had variations on (I think) the Eggs, Meat & Potatoes breakfast. I had two eggs overeasy with veggie sausage & my wife had the scrambled eggs with bacon. Each breakfast had the awesome, thin-sliced fried potatoes, which seem a bit healthier than hash browns but are still great. A nice touch is that you can add veggies a la carte, e.g. broccoli, red peppers, & onions - which we did. Who else offers that? I drove a couples miles to bring it all home and it was still all warm n tasty. Will be back soon!
If you want good service on the side walk dont come here. The server was talking to her friends for 10 min while I waited.Such bad service today
Just stopped for a beer and loved it! Epitome of cozy. Wonderful service.
This is the best place that you could ever choose to spend any amount of time. Great food, great drinks, lanes, outdoor seating, and a theater unlike any other. I’ve never regretted a second that I’ve been in the BLB
Awesome food. Great service
They had great social distancing set up. The back patio was really nice. We got the egg quesadilla and burrito. Both were amazing. We were a bit disappointed with the bloodies as they didnt have a lot of depth to them. Our server was fantastic though, the atmosphere was great, and over all it was a very good experience.
Great service and good food. Very nice beers
Monday night date night is a great deal. Bottle of wine, dinner and bowling for two at an affordable price. The bowling alley is okay. We had issue with pins resetting and Im not sure theyve oiled the lanes in a while. The theater is small and a bit old, but they do a 50/50 split with artists, so theyve got my love.
Tasty food, friendly service and great prices. Some might say small; I prefer to call it cozy. Lots of great food options, including vegetarian options. And if youre into chili, you gotta try theirs. So good!
Fun staff, good food, and good beer!
My wife and I traveled from downtown St. Paul, and it was worth it. Funky, fun and festive. We had a terrific meal, beer and wine. Then bowling. My wife, who never bowls, started out with 2 gutter balls. Shes one of those slow ball throwers with lots of English. Then she went on to score 3 strikes and 4 spares for a total on 165. Incredible! She was giddy. Thanks to all for all of the fun!! Well be back.
Good place! Good beers!
Smallish bowling alley, cozy theater space, really good food and drink. I really love bowling here- its old fashioned, you score yourself, but thats all part of the fun. They usually have unique shows that are done very well in their theater.
Wonderful space for adults. Music, live theatre, bowling and alcohol. Didnt feel like dancing tonight, but Im sure that it would have been a safe place to do so. Had a good burger and would now feel comfortable to explore their menu - not large, but a slight variation on predictable. Saw a very good sketch comedy show, but with live theatre, thats not a guarantee. I had 2 different servers; one in the theatre was great, one in bar, not so. However, the one major complaint - drinks too expensive. Its hard to enjoy an evening out when the tab inflates so quickly. First time there, so maybe they have a rewards/regulars incentive that would make me repeat.
When I go to a bowling alley, I expect to be able to order pizza - so that was a disappointment. Then, there were no fries to accompany my burger. Ill give it to them, the pretzel bun was pretty decent. And I guess the ancient paper scorekeeping method keeps the bowling price down. Absolutely and positively did not like that the shoes are not cleaned before the next use, you just put them back on the community wall. And most definitely did not love the communal pitchers of water that are out to serve yourself!
What a fun place! I went on a snowy wednesday at 11. So obviously not their busiest time, but it was a very nice experience. Server was quick, coffee was great, not burnt, smooth and frequently filled. French toast was yummy and had very little wait. The restaurant has a lot of activities but I just went to see what it was like. If I was in the mood the bloody Mary selection looked like it would have been great!
Good food and drinks. Attentive and friendly staff.
Ive been here many a time but Im new to reviewing things on Google and Im here to say I love this place!! I went here tonight for a fun night with my boyfriend and some friends and it did not disappoint. Well be back!
Neighborhood staple. Great Bar staff. Cool place. Love the sidewalk bench for people watching (once the weather allows)
Great hometown bar. Cold drinks served by Angels.
One of the things my wife and I enjoy while on vacation is finding a nice & unusual place to have breakfast. I saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives TV program.OUTSTANDING! A not to miss place to eat in Minneapolis. Part bar, part restaurant, part bowling alley & part theater. My wife and I had the days special and werent disappointed. Great food and ample portions. In case you are wondering, overstuffed omelette with flat cut home fries and pumpernickle toast.
Tasty food, good beer list, pretty decent prices! Plus a cute bowling alley. Just out your name in when you sit down for dinner, the wait is going to be a while.
Cheap date night is a blast here! you get to go bowling.I have probably had at least half of that menu items and I cant find a single flaw in the cooking or quality here. The service is always cordial. I have to get the wings almost every time I go there so tasty. Simple yet traditional menu items with a twist of awesomeness!
One of my all time favorite establishments. Been coming for decades! The sunniest breakfasts in town! AAA+
This place is a great date night spot! The food is unique and the bowling is old school, no TVs keeping score, just good old fashioned pen and paper!
They manage to do a lot of stuff really well under one roof. Food and beverages are good. Both the bowling alley and theater are... cozy, but a lot of fun.
Cool little tavern with some bowling alleys. The Rachel I got there was awesome, and the beer was good. Bartender was awesome too.
Quick, ultra friendly service that made me feel bad if I tipped less than 20%. The breakfast food was just as great which was beyond my expectation. *Im still dreaming about those breakfast potatos*. Oh, and the 2-for-1 Bloody Marys is what will wake me up every Sunday. BEST BLOODY EVER.
Good people; good food. However, a bit pricey. We were also rushed off our lane with little warning to make room for league bowling.
Interesting place my friends and I came to play some bowling. Lane 4 is basically inoperable and must be reset 1-2 times before all the pins will stand. Customer service is more or less a foreign concept here we mentioned the lane maybe 5-6 times. The 5th time someone went to check and then finally let us switch to a lane that worked better. This place has a decent atmosphere and the food smelled good. The whole waiter for the lane thing doesnt really work here. Not a bad place
Good variety of tap beers and great service !
BLB is a Minneapolis institution for a reason. I have so many memories here bowling with friends, going on first dates, and passing through for a quick drink before other LynLake shenanigans. They have great cocktails, lots of beer options, and delicious food. If youre never been, you gotta go!
Fun place to just hang outat! With indoor/outdoor seating, plus a bowling alley, plus a concert space, the vibe of things going on is seconds to none here. I especially appreciate the multiplicity of local taps. - Also, all the staff Ive met (so far) are super nice people :)
I have fallen in love with Bryant-Lake Bowl! Quaint and authentic feeling spot with a small bar and seating area in the front and vintage-style bowling in the back. The beer is reasonable priced and the pretzel was good. Bowling is by the game instead of the hour, so the price can climb fast with just 2 people playing, but we had a great time. You have to score by hand which I kind of loved - even though I hate math. Servers continued to come to us while we were bowling, so we were able to continue ordering drinks without interrupting the game. A definite must-try!
Food was good. A little cramped. Server said she liked my genes
Enjoyed breakfast here Sunday Morning. Very cool atmosphere and vibe in this place. Loved the look of the old bowling alley as well will have to return to bowl. Bloody Marys were delicious, food excellent as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive, enjoyed our conversations with the gentlemen doing dishes that has worked there for a long time very cool individual. We will be back!
Adorable spot to eat, bowl, and catch a show. If you are attending- they do serve inside the theater as well as in the restaurant. Options for just about everyone to enjoy.
Was at the Bryant Lake Bowl for the annual Toys for Tots fundraiser showing of the Star Wars Holiday Special. This happens one night only every December. It’s a good time watching an awful movie. While I was there I had a chance to eat. I tried one of their burgers and it was terrific. Not the least expensive place to eat in the cities, but you pay for the ambience, nostalgia, as well as the food.Service was fast. Limited parking in their back lot, which is past the building behind it. Look for the signs.I’ll be back when I’m South again. The nacho platter my friends were having was amazing looking and I’ll be trying that next time.
Cant say enough about a place that had a patio, a cool venue, bowling and great food.
Only 8 or 10 lanes. Great environment, have to know how to score bowling though, because you are given a score card, not a screen.
Been going here for over 24 years . Great coffee, nice staff, good food . Win!
Old fashioned and In a good part of town. great attention to guests and great food!
Great service and ambiance. The theater space is great and offers quirky fun shows, and the bowling is good vintage fun.
Been here dozens of times.Never had a disappointing breakfast.Just the neatest place to sit and enjoy being alive.Wait staff is always attentive. This visit I had the veggie hash with two eggs over easy on top. OMG what a tasty meal.My wife had the granola pancake and a cup of fruit. Quite delicious. Check the photos I posted.Forget those suburban apostrophe restaurants.Get down to the Bryant-Lake Bowl!!
This is a fantastic place for a date or outing with friends. You can do some bowling, eat food, get tipsy if thats your thing, and see live theater all in one place. Im a big fan of Tipsy Kangaroos Naughty Puppet Revue, and theyve had other super fun live shows, like literary trivia and an 1800s romance themed improv show. Check out their show calendar. Ive never been disappointed. Its a super relaxed atmosphere. Nicer than a dive bar, but I still feel comfortable saying swear words. 5 stars.
This is an awesome place to hang out at night. The food is awesome, and it has a unique, casual atmosphere.
We love Bryant Lake Bowl! Ive celebrated birthdays there and also enjoyed their date night with my husband, on Mondays! The staff is the sweetest and the bowling is old school and so much fun!
If they ever added electronic scoring, improved the lighting, or cleaned up the old benches, the place would lose all the charm and character which makes it so much fun. A fun atmosphere and good drink selection make this a great place to hang out
An intimate venue with food and drink available during the performance. I appreciate that they are open to providing more experimental programing. I have been surprised by so many and have enjoyed them all. Highly recommend this venue.
Great food, great staff. One of my favorite venues for shows.
Lifesaver! Up Down was packed and we wanted a group to be able to talk and hang out while playing a game. This place is it. Ive gone on dates here (they have a deal for a date night), Ive gone bowling late night, Ive seen theatre here. Love BLB&T.
Bryant lake bowl is a really great venue to see theatre productions, or music, or comedy shows, or all of them at once.Enjoy great food and drink while doing so. And if you still need more stimulus after that, you can bowl a few games at one of the finest lanes the city has to offer! Thanks for listening
Great food, friendly staff, and they have a good date-night deal.
Attended a private Christmas party here. The theatre was a little cramped, but served our needs. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Decent beer selection. Food is good. Lanes are trash, I enjoy scoring myself but lanes are probably oiled bi-weekly. Definitely a hipster hangout.Edit: reply; really? Because 25% or more lanes were out of service, the approach was sticky. I understand that bowling is clearly the novelty part of your business, but they are barely usable.
I always have a good time here. Plus their food and drinks are great.
Fun and intimate bowling! Great service, drink and food!
Great service and food for breakfast. Really good coffee, well. Recommend.
I brought a large group(14) to go bowling here. Showed up early(6:30-ish) to figure out bowling for after 7pm. I was put on a list and they placed everyone that showed up after me onto lanes, when I had the top spot on the list.My friends were treated rudely by the staff when they were trying to order beers/food.Eventually they told me that I could get on a lane in 45 minutes. I left with my friends to go to Up-Down. My friends and I will never attempt to bowl here again.
Cool place but charging $10 to bowl where I also need to write my own scores? Pass. Also if its busy service by the lanes slows significantly. However ill still come here for drinks and company. Always a busy place for bar food and entertainment.
If youre into vintage, and you like bowling, this is the place for you!! Old school 60s bowling alley. Only eight Narrow Lanes. Good beer selection from bar. Friendly staff. Nothing mechanized so study up on how to score for bowling as its all manual. Would have been awesome if the old projector tables still worked.
Great time at Party in the Rec Room! Lorna was great as usual!
Excellent place for some cheap bowling and a wonderful time. Great food and drink selections. Manual counting and playing has a way different feel to the game
I was a big fan. Today was very disappointing: we got there at 4.10 with 5 kids who wanted to bowl. We waited for 2 hrs, had drinks and chips, bowling was impossible!
Very nice place and make a really good duck Burger
This bar is a casual neighborhood pub without being either a dive bar, too hipster, or full of Uptown dudebros. It has a decent beer selection, friendly and competent staff, good bar food, and a comfortable atmosphere
So fun! Great place and keeps everything classical
This place was great. The food was really good and the atmosphere was so unique. I loved it
Great service and good. Good talk in the theatre. Dinosaurs!
Fun place!! I loved bowling, especially because you can drink during! The new outside seating is perfect to grab a drink and people/car watch.
Amazing place if you like food, drinks, bowling or live entertainment in the attached theater!!
We came here for a show in their side theater. The food is fantastic and the service was great! Eating in the theater though was a little tough as the tables could only accommodate a few glasses and MAYBE one plate. Other than that, a great place for fun and food!
Their date night deal is absolutely amazing! 2 entrees, 2 drinks, plus a round of bowling. Its a fun/causal place with good energy. Check it out!
Went to see a show! Nice small venue.
An uptown icon, great food & simple drinks, epic bowling
Kitchsy and fun. A great place to bowl for cheap on weeknights
Had a great show there small old dive kind of otherwise I dont know much about it or its food but if you like bowling or hanging out with your friends locally that could be a place you check out
Great breakfast. For many years. I dont bowl or go to their theater so I cant comment on that.
My first time there in years, but had a great time!! My wifes company party there was fun. See they have plays there now too. Many people walking around the area enjoying uptown life! Go there and have a good time!!
