Very Nostalgic! The foyer is beautiful, and I love the arcade machines it adds to the atmosphere of the Theater. The seats are very comfortable, and my favorite color is Red! So 5 stars from me I will be back!

A beautiful old theater with fantastic, friendly staff. The popcorn was great, and the concession prices were in line with typical venue/theater prices. There was a fantastic amount of leg room because the rows of seats are set a reasonable distance apart, rather than crammed together to provide more seating/sell more tickets. I highly recommend catching an event or movie here if you can.

It was perfect. Took the wifey out for date night, watched the Notebook. Great location, with ample street parking. We had dinner at the Mexican place next door. At the theater we got little movie themed gift bags - had a pack of tissues and a little notebook inside. Such a memorable experience.

Awesome single-screen movie theater—newly renovated—has great sound, clear screen, and comfy/roomy seats. Tattersall cocktails and local craft beers on draft are available at the lobby bar, and you can take your drinks with you into the theater. Supper fun to see The Last Waltz. Super interesting to hear stories about the film from the special guests. The sound could have been louder. :-)

A nice experience! Expensive bar but thats expected. They had a few featured cocktails which were good. They have some arcade games. The theater is nice looking and has comfortable enough seating, nothing fancy but it reflects the beautiful vintage feel. Staff were all very friendly. They could consider darkening the lobby a bit on daytime sold out shows, especially family friendly ones. Parents and kids were constantly going in and out of the bright lobby the whole movie.

The classic theatre experience that I remember from my youth! They play a lot of unique films, both older and new. They even have an arcade, which is nostalgic. I noticed they have a cocktail bar, but I didn’t have a chance to buy a drink.

Very few cool places in this city. But this is top 10 for sure. They keep the charm of 50s egyptian type theater. Love it. Great screen. And they play 35mm sometimes which is rad.

Things to know: no cupholders if youre clumsy, slightly uncomfortable seats if you have a bad back (because theyre beautiful old seats), not cheap for an old or rerun style theater. Why I gave it 5 stars: Great staff, incredible drink menu (alcoholic and non alcoholic), great snacks. Very nice restoration, even a bit more oldschool than Riverview, VERY eclectic, great selection of movies they show, even the previews to the movie are time-appropriate, very cool.Places like this are whats fun about living in Minneapolis. Very unique space close to great dining

I went to the Parkway for a movie screening as part of the 20th annual Sound Unseen Film Festival. This is a beautiful old-style theatre right off of Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis. There is plenty of seating and the staff are really helpful!

Review №20

I went and saw Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back here. What an amazing experience! Such a great film and perfect venue. The auditorium looked smelled clean. Concessions were available, including beer. Sound and lighting were awesome. The seating is on a rather flat slope which means there is a small possibility a tall person can obstruct the view, but the seats are staggered and mostly mitigate that. The auditorium is long which makes the screen seem smaller than other theaters. The red velvet seats are a little cramped, especially if you are a larger person. When the doors in the back are opened during the showing, they let light in which was a minor distraction. There are two, single occupancy restrooms in the arcade. Also, theres an arcade. In summary, this is a well maintained older theater which shows lots of older classic films. The front is also a stage where performances are held, so its not just a theater. I loved my time there.

Ch

Only reason I didnt give 5 starts is because it takes a bit longer than usual to get concessions because the lobby area is so small; otherwise, the sound on the theater was great, the temperature was perfect, all the seats were great for watching the performance.

Ahh good old nostalgic theater! Found Parkway Theater through FB event suggestion and purchased tickets through link to Eventbrite which saved time at the theater. First time here and brought my tweens for a showing of Dark Crystal from 1982. Place was filled with mostly my era, who clapped before and after the performance with some giggles throughout from 80s special effects and audience imitations of Skeksis. Looks like they play quite a few older movies with Princess Bride coming in March. Theater had older, likely original seats like I remember as a kid; no super comfy, leather, reclining make-you-fall-asleep seats. :) Small concession area perfect for quick snacks and popcorn and opposite side of entry has a bar for beverages to bring in to enjoy. Small lounge area outside the theater, bathrooms upstairs. Free parking on street. Would definitely come again for a show.

This place is amazing I know it was shut down for a remodel and Im glad they did it. The theater is just stunning with velvet seats and walls. The screen/stage is really large and even the people in the back can see it. They have just basic stuff such as popcorn, soda, and some candy I believe. I reccomend you go to this place as its really nice and welcoming. The tickets only cost 6 dollars.!!!

The Parkway had been updated, from its years as a lowcost movie theater, with fewer seats - more space between rows - an arcade, and bar to make it more than suitable for old movies and live music. Same look and feel of an old movie house, but with a great sound for music of all kinds.

This is, hands down, such a fantastic place - it is a beautifully restored theater showing legendary movies every week across multiple genres. They offer great cocktails, delicious snacks, and excellent service. There is also a small old school arcade to the left of the entrance that is (ostensibly) there for the kids, but I may or may not have spent a fair amount of time in there playing arcade games, too :-) Ill be back!
