I think they do a great job of booking awesome performers here. When I see a musician I adore is coming to town, this is the place that booked them. I know I can always look at their line up for great shows. They could do a bit more to revamp the old movie theatre setting and make the environment a bit more fun. I would add that while I was injured and using crutches, the staff were extremely accommodating and made sure I had elevator access all night long - I really appreciated this. On two visits they did this for me and were very patient and helpful about it, even if I just wanted to step out to smoke. Always amazing music and great performances here.

Ive seen Yelawolf twice(3 if you count the one he walked off stage with exhaustion)and IT WAS AWESOME. The acoustics are amazing, the staff is accommodating and friendly, and the drinks are pretty reasonable! Ive never been to a venue like this and the way the floor to stage is set up, there isnt really a bad spot in the house! Terrific venue!!

Skyway has the best sound system Ive heard this far for a smaller venue! Lots of space, was able to get up to the front for Good Charlotte and Sleeping with Sirens. Temperature was perfect not too hot or too cold. Very logical way to check people in. Age check, security check, and then ticket scanning.Definitely will be back!

Great multi-tiered concert venue. The unique design of this venue offers fantastic view of the stage regardless of whether you are on the lower level or up on the balcony on the second level due to the manner the venue is sloped. There are a number of bars both on the concert floor and in the lobbies of the first and second level so long lines are usually not an issue as there is someone able to assist you.Lines will usually form outside for ticket screening so its highly recommended to bring a jacket during colder months in the event you have to stand outside for a short bit prior to entering the venue.

Flew out here for a convention. Got invited by my buddy for the shows you had going on. Great venue. Hopefully you will make the entrance and outside a little more appealing. Also no ADA for any hearing loss. That is concerning so I had to take out my hearing aids for all shows. Please fix this if you are not sure how, let me know and I can help you out

The Skyway is a movie theater that has been repurposed as a music venue. It has kind of a cool industrial feel because of it. Its a bit dimly lit and looks a bit grungy, largely due to the carpet in the entry way. It seems like a fair number of metal groups play it this venue so the aesthetic kind of works. I have seen The Sword and August Burns Red here. Being a former movie theater you have to walk outside the concert hall to find the bar and the floor is slanted. The slanted floor can get tiring to stand on after a while, but it helps with visibility so that is a plus. Its a nice size to have an authentic live music experience so all in all would recommend.

This was our first visit here, and EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE STAFF that we interacted with....WERE ALL AMAZING PEOPLE!!!! They ALL treated us with kindness and caring and made us feel wonderful....like we were kinda family. SHOUT OUT FROM JEN.....to the STAFF...To the new girl, the new guy, the sweet man with the arm tattoo, the chick who ran the mini beverage station in the concert area.....I CANNOT THANK U ALL ENOUGH.....without you, I would have NEVER gotten to meet Christopher Hall of Stabbing Westward...7/28. NOW U GUYS SHOULD KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! Ooh... Forgot the topless male bartender n his partner...girl in the Ouija dress. TY ALL FOR EVERYTHING. EVEN DOWN TO THE TRUE REAL EXCITEMENT THAT YOU EACH SHARED WITH ME LATER ON AFTER I TOLD YOU WHAT HAD HAPPENED!! We recommend this place ...to any and everybody!!! This was Trappers first ever concert..and he met the first band DEPOTEK....while they were going on stage...and I bought him their CD....and later they signed it and chatted with him for awhile!!! (they are an AMAZING local band) we both had experiences that will never be forgotten...MUCH LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!! EXCELLENT!!!!

The acoustics are very good for concerts, and as far as location it is fairly convenient. Unfortunately, since this used to be a movie theater, the floors are sloped add an angle that makes them very uncomfortable to stand on for the duration of an entire concert.Drinks are severely overpriced, but since you are downtown, that is pretty much to be expected. Did you get some good venues in there that are worth watching, what was my arthritic knees and feet in the shape they are in, Im afraid I just cant deal with standing for the whole show.

This place never disappoints, the venue is nice and big. There is a great balcony area to watch the bands from, there is really no bad spot to watch bands at this venue. The floor is slanted which makes mosh puts interesting, but besides that I always have a great time whenever I get to see bands play here. Good venue, friendly staff, and the acoustics are not half bad either.

The concert I went to was amazing but the venue was not. There was a very long line to get in, whether you had tickets or not. And where they had you enter the building was not the main entrance but some weird side door. The people checking tickets werent helpful and the set up of the venue was ridiculous. They were way over sold for the space they had and quite a few people were stuck in the lobby listening to the concert without being able to see it. The only thing good about the concert was the bands. Hopefully none of my concerts are there again.

Its a damn good place for any show. Main stage has a slanted stage so you can see no matter where you are. Then the upper stage is nice if youre not into the whole crowd scene. Plus multiple bars and places to hangout away from the stage. Not mention the cheap tickets for whoever you want to see. 20-60$ typically. Would recommend to any one looking for a good one night show

At first I thought it just a fluke, but after 3 shows I realized: Skyway sound quality is always terrible. For trivium you couldnt hear bass guitar nor backup vocals. For Animal as leaders you could barely hear Javier Reyes. This venue wrecks amazing bands via terrible sound quality.

Review №54

First the bad. So the organization of this place is so under par. A couple of the staff are awesome but some of them could give a rip, and it shows. Dont bother paying for VIP if youre looking for a VIP experience, especially before the show. Nobody seems to know whats going on, the entire operation was running an hour and a half behind when we were there for Theory of a Deadman. Also dont wait until after a show to use the bathroom. Bad idea, I promise. That being said, it has general admission (floor) and upper level seating. The cool thing about this place is that, I believe since it used to be a theater type venue, the floor is slanted toward the stage. Now, this is awful for a persons back if youre standing for the show, however people in the back can see just as well as people in the front. And if youre in the front, youre literally in arms reach of the performers. Also cool. They have a great bar, much of what youd expect, typical prices for downtown. They have outside seating for smoking and enjoying a beverage as well.I wasnt sure about parking prior so I got in touch via email to ask about that. They were quick to respond and suggest parking ramps. Theres literally a ramp connected to Skyway. So yeah, not a top notch venue but a cheap concert experience and we got to meet the band. Im thankful to skyway for that opportunity.

Probably my favorite venue in Minneapolis! The parties here are always a blast. Typically theres EDM (dubstep, techno, etc) shows hold here. The music isnt my personal favorite but I always have a great time because of the bass, drinks, vibes, lights, and atmosphere! Aside from that, Ive watched performances by Logic, Lupe Fiasco, Machine Gun Kelly, Mod Sun and more. I absolutely love this venue.

Skyway is a sometimes great place for concerts. It has several stages, the one main big stage and then an upstairs stage that is more of a smaller area. I have seen several concerts there and the staff is always really helpful there. the main venue has 2 levels, a floor level area and an upper area that has seating. The bottom area is a great for dancing around but if you want a more calmer vibe you can stay in the upper area if its open, which for some concerts it is not

The lounge as you enter is set up very strange and is dark. The bartenders were helpful but not very talkative even when not busy. The venue is also set up very weird. Folding chairs sufficed but the place was clearly not designed well. The show we attended was fantastic but the venue did not contribute to that. Last, the long-haired, beer belly Kurt Cobain look-alike that works up front is horrendous. He is dirty and smells. He has zero customer service abilities. If anything, he is the exact opposite. He clearly dislikes people and is beyond rude.

Excellent, small venue for a variety of shows. Ive seen Rancid, Rise Against, and Good Charlotte here - all at reasonable cost. General admission only. Being this is an old theatre, if you choose to stand on the main floor, keep in mind the floor is slanted toward the stage. Otherwise, the balcony is another excellent option.
