Escape Rooms are a blast and I’ve had the opportunity to participate in these in person, but was a bit skeptical of what the online experience would look like but Tony / Lock & Key did a great job of making the Escape Room virtual and running it as a seamless experience. Our team had a great time, it got us all collaborating together as well as competing with our peers on the other team. The hour went by in a flash and at the end I marveled at what a great experience it had been. Thank you! Would highly recommend the experience.
This was my first [virtual] Escape Room experience. I didnt know what to expect going in but myself and our entire company had a fantastic time. The team at Lock and Key Escape rooms were prepared to help and the technology worked very well. I would recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys solving problem!
This was my familys first escape room and it was a blast. Super fun and it was challenging but not to hard where it was frustrating. They give timely clues to nudge you in the right direction but not give anything away. The staff was super fun and friendly. It was a great time. Highly recommend.
Our work team at CARE Counseling just did the virtual puzzle room and it was such a good experience! I highly recommend it as a great socially distanced, but totally connected, team event during COVID! Thank you!!! - Andrea
As a group of 7, ages 12-71 yrs, in mid-January, we experienced the Impossible Mission escape room. It was fun and challenging at the same time. It was a great way to celebrate our daughters 31st b-day. - The Lindau Family
Had a super fun time at a work event. Puzzles were great, and well themed. Staff was very helpful. Made my first Escape Room experience very enjoyable. Thank you!
I had a huge blunder when reserving my son’s party. I showed up with 9 people, ready for my 7:30 time slot, only to learn, I never actually confirmed the reservation Instead of sending us away, Lock & Key honored my request, had an employee stay late, and found us an open room!! It was the best gift for my 14yr old and his friends all had the best time!! We escaped the Santa’s List Room which was challenging and such fun this time of year.I will recommend this business forever and will be back with other groups to enjoy trying to escape their other rooms! (Hopefully, I will figure out the online reservation process before next time)Their generosity and understanding go far and our group felt so honored and cared for.Thank you so much for being incredible business people!
Fun room, we ended up solving the puzzle in a roundabout way without solving all the clues in order, but it was a fun and challenging time for our group. I think we had a Groupon, so you can save some money that way if theyre still advertising with them.
It was a lot of fun and clean! The worker was professional and personable. Thanks for the fun!
We havent actually gone yet, and I dont often leave reviews, but I wanted to leave a raving review for the customer service right away. My family was scheduled for an escape room tomorrow, however, something came up causing us to need to reschedule. I didnt know the policy regarding rescheduling, so I used the chat function on their website to inquire. Tony was very sympathetic and quick to get us rescheduled with no problem at all. We are bummed we wont be doing the escape room tomorrow, but looking forward to what I expect will be a great experience in January! Thank you!!!
Ive done somewhere around dozen escape rooms, and recently did Quest for Excalibur here, my first one from this company. It had some neat puzzles, most were well designed, if a bit average. A couple were pretty unique!Overall, a good room, it could have used a bit more ambience and set-dressing, but for me the puzzles are the most important and this room did a pretty good job on those.
Staff is super friendly! we did the professor jones room and it was challenging and fun! a great use of time!
8 of us decided to do a room while we were overnight in the cities to catch a flight. 2 rookies, 4 amateurs and 2 pros and we thoroughly enjoyed the Locker Room. It was challenging but fun and the clues in most cases were very original (not ones I have experienced in my 25+ escapes...). Thank you for the great time, we hope to be back soon!
An absolute blast! No spoilers! So all Ill say is if you like puzzle solving with your friends, this is the place to go.
Great fun. The guide provided good instructions and a fun scenario. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. It was my first time at an escape room and would recommend to anyone! We did the Excaliber room. Fantastic for a group up to 10. I would recommend no less than 4-5 in a group though. We hope to go again soon!
Did the Excalibur room with a large group - fun puzzles, friendly and helpful staff. I would go back again to do another room, and would recommend it to friends.
Really fun hour fun with 6 people!! Especially if you get stimulated from solving puzzles!
Really fun time for the family! We were on our toes
Fun time for everyone! The puzzles are interesting and at times a bit complex, but not too complex to solve in the allotted time. Having 2 people in our group that were a bit hesitant about participating, they admitted that they were surprised how much fun they had. This is the second room I have visited here, and I want to see what the other rooms have to offer. I would recommend rhis room to people of all ages and abilities. A good time will be had by all!
This was a really fun experience, glad I had a group to do it with otherwise I would not have finished!
The escape room was fun to do with a group of friends. We did the medieval themed room. It was nice that the room had a lot of different tasks to work on at different times. But in my opinion the puzzles were all really random.
If I could give zero starts I would. The room itself was broken and different pieces of the room were opening when they shouldnt. The employee came in at the end and said she thinks we escaped but wasnt sure how the room worked. I love escape rooms and this one was frustrating and a waste of money. We didnt receive a score or take a picture. We were thanked for coming in and then dismissed.
Creative and fun clues. we did the Indiana Jones themed one, which I loved. The staff was patient and friendly, and we were a big group with teens and young adults so can be a bit much for businesss but they were great.
It was fun and difficult but then we had a difficult room or everyone was under the influence.
So super fun! My first experience was great! Its good to go with at least 4 people. Ten could get to be too many. We had a group of 7 and that worked out well. The guy running it was very nice. The clues are challenging, but not impossible, thats why its helpful to have a few brains in the room! There were three different ones to pick from. We did the professor one. Its like real life Agatha Christie!
I went here for a friends birthday and it was so much fun. It was more challenging than I expected but it kept it interesting. We were able to solve the challenge and I was impressed with the experience. I think the directions and clues could be a little bit more clear, but overall it was a really awesome time!
Very well done! Highly recommend to anyone, whether this is your first escape room or your 100th. Absolutely loved it.
Super fun experience! We did the Excalibur escape room and had a blast! 1 hour to find your way out! Can you do it??
The employees there were very understanding of our special reservation, promptly answering emails. The rooms themselves were quite difficult for two people, but the employees provided help for certain puzzles, and also gave helpful hints to completing the room. Well worth the price they were asking and a great date activity.
Our group had a great experience at Lock and Key Escape Rooms! We had a reservation for about six people. It was very reasonably priced compared to a lot of the other rooms out there. The host greeted us when we arrived and our reservation started right on time. Our room was a play on the Indiana Jones movies and was a lot of fun. Great puzzles and something for everyone in the group to work on. We were able to solve it with just a few minutes remaining. It was a really fun night for our group. Id definitely go back to play their other puzzle rooms!
Really fun and awesome experience! I would recommend this place to everyone. I did a work outing with my fellow co workers and we all had a blast! We would definitely go back and do it again. =D
I loved this place! It was nice that we were not actually locked into the room, which helped me relax a lot more as a new person to escape rooms! I envisioned a dark, locked room with strangers and tons of math- but this was quite the opposite and a ton of fun. The staff was generous with their help when our group got stuck and it was a blast to have a flashback to my childhood with the Indiana Jones references. I would definitely return.
Great experience were able to accommodate a large family group with a wide age range!
Great escape room. A bit more linear than I prefer, so at a few points everyone was waiting for one person to solve a problem. However, from a team building standpoint, forcing participants into those bottlenecks can encourage better cooperation and the Everyone work together. Now everyone split up. rhythm keeps things fresh. This is largely a personal preference. It also makes it so that group size is not as much of a factor. The production value was great. You really feel like you are on an adventure.
We did the Camelot themed one for a friends birthday party, it was a load of fun. The staff member was super nice and the production vales were high.
Our group of 6 had a great time helping out Dr. Jones! We used the activity as a team-building event for our work-mate hooky afternoon and we enjoyed every minute of it! Everyone was able to participate and work together. It was fun and entertaining for all involved! Highly recommended and Ill be back!
My wife and I have done over 60 rooms, and we thoroughly enjoyed their Quest for Excalibur. The set was fun and evoked the setting, the puzzles were clever, with a mix of logic and thinking puzzles and well-hidden technology, and the gameplay was fluid and fun.
In the world of big, corporate escape room companies opening the same sub-par rooms in every city they go to, Lock and Key is a breath of fresh air. Creative puzzle design and family business values make this a great place to come play whether its your first room or your hundredth! Absolutely loved Prof. Jones Office and cant wait for the Excalibur room!
Its a nice place to spend time with friends if youre up for solving some puzzles. It cost $30 per person. So it can be pricey.
We have played two games here and had a great time both times. There are a variety of different puzzles to solve, and the rooms have a logical progression to them.
I love escape rooms and Lock and Key Escape Rooms did not disappoint. It was challenging and fun. A great way to spend an hour with friends. Im planning to come back!
A fun time! Escaped from Santas workshop in the nick of time. More challenging than I expected, but Alex the Elf was ready with hints when we needed them!
I ave done three of their rooms, and had a blast with each one. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
Came with a group of 10 and we we had a great time! Challenging yet fun puzzles, and we knew the person running it and he was very kind about it all! Great experience for anyone!
My family and I did the Excalibur room and had so much fun. The puzzles blew our minds!! Super friendly people there, and an awesome set up that was both challenging and fun for everyone.
My third time doing an escape room and by far my best experience! Great puzzles, great staff! Highly recommend. The Professor Jones room is very clever, challenging and perfect for a large group.
Lock and Key was the best escape room I’ve ever done. A group of buddies and I got together and decided on a whim to try to find one and this group was super flexible with the timing and got us in on that same evening. We had an absolute blast inside of the room and really had fun debriefing with the person running the room afterwards. There was plenty of challenge in the room and good leveling in terms of people who have never done it before and those of us who are more experience. I have already and will continue to recommend this to anyone looking for a fairly priced escape room in the Twin Cities. For us it was definitely worth the money and I can’t wait to see what new rooms they come out with so we can go back and play again!
Lock and Key has some of the best puzzle rooms I’ve ever done!! They are clever and well themed. I also appreciate the fun and creative staff who walk you through the process so well regardless if you’re brand new to puzzle rooms or well experienced in them. Try out Lock and Key, you won’t regret it!!
I did Dr. Jones office, the experience was awesome. The way to start was great and not obscure, and the puzzles were the right amount of difficulty. I really enjoyed the way it was set up, versus how in Riddle Room, a different place, you were thrown into a room and lock boxes were everywhere. You had no idea when to use what. Here, you understood when to use certain things and knew which combinations went to which locks.
Awesome place. Excalibur room is the best. Thank you.
Not the best escape room in the twin cities, but our group had a good time. Employee was friendly, but the overall quality of the room was lacking. Pieces were broken or dirty, not as “immersive” of an experience as some of the other options in the twin cities.
My family and I had been wanting to try an escape room for a while and this was a perfect one! We thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles and the staff were so friendly and great, creating a wonderful experience. It was a great price and we loved every minute of it!
Super fun. Dr. Jones room was interesting, the set-up of the room was much more elaborate than I expected, and the puzzles were clever. Will definitely be coming back for the other rooms.
Great experience. Unique challenges.
We had a great time at lock and key escape rooms! It was honestly more fun than I think any of us were expecting having gone in not really knowing what to expect. We were very impressed!
We had a lot of fun. You can choose the level of help they give you or dont give you :)
I was truly evident that the owners of lock and key want to deliver a great experience for their customers. They put a great amount of effort into the story and all the puzzles added to the fun. Would highly recommend this escape room and excited to see where they go!
Super fun. Went with two adults and two teens and we had a blast.
If you are looking for an escape room or puzzle room in Minneapolis, look no further then Lock and Key Escape Room. It is an excellent team bonding experience and creative group activity! The puzzles are fun and youre in for a couple surprises. Highly recommend!
Went here on a groupon, and did the locker room escape room. Its their easiest room so I do not recommend it for anyone whos done an escape room before, its incredibly easy. Great for a first time though.
Good puzzles, friendly staff. Will be back to do the other rooms.
We played the Indian Jones room. It was a lot of fun, solid quality room. Definitely worth it.
Lock and Key was my first escape room and it was a lot of fun! The puzzles were challenging enough but definitely solvable. The room was really entertaining and interactive! On top of all that, the staff are hilarious and very friendly. I would definitely recommend going!
Lock and Key Escape Rooms is a fun experience for all ages. So many levels of skills needed to solve the clues. Great team building exercise or if you just want to have fun!
Extremely fun! The host was engaging and fun to speak with, and it was just challenging enough without being frustrating. Creative ideas, too.
Had a great time in the Professors office. The fish tank was especially clever.
This was the third escape room Ive done and by far the best. There were only a few people in our group that hadnt been to an escape room before, so although they had fun, they didnt know the difference. Those of us that have done them before were super impressed. The host can really make or break the experience and ours was very good; he helped us when we needed it without helping us too much and making it not fun. The room itself had lots of cool electronic type events; without giving anything away, it is the kind of thing where you pull a secret lever and suddenly something else in the room changes. Highly recommend it. The theme of our room was like an Indiana Jones type thing, but I know they have other rooms, so we will definitely be back!
Great experience! Challenging but not overwhelming puzzles. Fun time had by all!
Really a fun time. try to get a group of 10 people that you know.... going with other groups could be hit or miss.. luckily ours was great.
It was my first time in an escape room and it could not have been better. It was so fun! An interactive experience that had my jaw literally dropping. I want people to go so I can talk about it because I dont want to give anything away! I cant wait until they construct more rooms. They can take my money now.
We had a great time! Will definitely go again!
We had a GREAT time at Lock and Key Escape Rooms. Fun team building opportunity for me and my staff--we even escaped the room just in time! We will be back again!
Great experience with clever questions and fun atmosphere! Dr Jones is wonderful and I cant wait to try the other rooms.
We had a great time as a break away from the office having fun solving the puzzle on how to escape. Highly recommend as a team building activity or a fun event to do with friends!
We had a blast! One of the better rooms I have been to. Friends with hadnt been to escape rooms before and now they are ready to plan the next one!
Great fun, great puzzles, helpful clues right when we needed them
This was so much fun! We had 4 people and that was perfect.
Went here for my birthday tonight and had a blast! The website said closed on tuesdays but I called and asked if they would open for a group of us and Alex said he would! The room was everything we expected and our leader sarah was exceptional! She got us hyped on the intro and let us loose in the room. She helped when needed but let us figure it out. Can’t wait to book again! Highly recommend.
We had a great time. The staff were wonderful!
The themed room was so well done!
Super fun and well thought out puzzles. We had a blast!
I highly recommend Lock anf key rscape rooms! We did the championship locker room during my best friends bachelorette party. It was an absolute blast! The puzzle was a perfect difficulty for beginners.
Fun to work together to solve the puzzles. I would love to try the other rooms they have!
Loved the locker room! It was so much better and trickier then i was expecting! 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Well thought-out room, with a couple of great surprises! Thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Definitely would recommend going to Lock and Key!
We made it out and was a great time
Freaking awesome 12/10
Today was my third visit to an escape room in the Twin Cities. Although it is a short list, Lock & Key was the best so far!
I have been about 20 different escape rooms in the twin cities and this is the Best one
Fun. Fun. Fun. Fun. And very reasonable.
Quite fun
Amazing experience! Very awesome owners- very creative rooms - can’t wait to come back!
Had a great time. Even the 2 that werent looking forward to it, enjoyed themselves. Recommend.
It was challenging and fun! Would definitely return.
Soo much fun definitely will be going back! Great service!
Went for 13yr old Birthday party and was Huge Hit!! Will be back!
