We live in Ottawa, Canada and Milwaukee is the only ice that we can get to “easily” for long track training. This will be the third time in a year and we will be here another two times before the end of 2019. Great facility and very helpful staff. We will be back!

I love this ice rink. I came here on vacation and I can’t say enough good things about this place. The top floor is absolutely spectacular! Im really glad I checked it out and gave it my review! This is an awesome place to have some fun with the kids. The ice is also pretty good but our group doesnt really go there often because there are lots of other people and lots of excitement. There are also some really good burgers on the menu, though.Seriously, dont go there when youre supposed to be at work. Its very popular with high schoolers and if youre younger than them, youre not allowed in. People are mean to the staff and basically not nice to anyone they meet. Other then bad people, this place is awesome and fun!

To skate: Good ice quality on both ice rinks as well as the speed skating ring. Most of the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, while sharing their passion for any of the sports on ice.The only complaint is the journey required to get to the bleachers. You must go downstairs, through the double doors, back up the stairs, then walk between the boards/benches and inside of the speed skating rink.

Took our youngest son to go skating here for his first time and he had an absolute blast. It is a bit confusing to get around the facility, but once you know where youre going its not bad.The facility itself is great. We were only able to stay a short time, our son was getting cranky and tired, but it was wonderful. The public skate rink is the speed skating oval, and there are two full size rinks inside the oval, for those that dont know much about skating, thats a very large area to have open to the public.Prices are reasonable and Im aware that they offer 5-packs as well for a discounted entry price. Kids under 3 are free as well. The rental skates arent bad, not the greatest quality but rentals never are, if you go regularly definitely pick yourself up a pair of skates on your own.Overall a great place, only reason for the 4 -stars is the getting around and going up and down stairs. Only other thing, if you rent skates for the $3.50 they hold your shoes for you at the rental counter, if you dont rent skates, then you have to pay for a locker or leave your shoes out and the lockers are coin operated. I just stashed mine under a bench cause I didnt have any quarters but be aware that even if you bring your own, they dont tell you about that til youre already downstairs and laced up.

A great place for a walk or run. My wife likes to go here and stroll the track with our baby. Strollers have a lot of rules so its best to baby wear if you plan on bringing your baby with. Nice atmosphere and good place to get the blood pumping.

Definitely an amazing place for ice skating purposes. For public skating, the giant ice track (usually for speed skating practice) is opened to the public for about $8 a person which includes skate rentals. I found it cool that you can choose to switch out your standard figure skates for hockey skates. In the middle of the ice track, there are 2 hockey rinks. There are multiples of hockey games that go on throughout the day from kids to older adults. You skate around them on the ice track. There is also a small snack bar under the skating area with pizza, nachos, hot dogs, sodas, and slushiesI give it 4 stars instead of 5 though because they do not resurface (Zamboni) the ice very often at all. At other skate rinks Ive been to, the ice is resurfaced every hour or so. At the pettit ice center, the hockey rinks are re surfaced often, but the public skating rink was not resurfaced for multiple hours!I got there at 3pm, and skated til 9pm. The ice was already heavily scraped up when I got there, but was not resurfaced until 6pm.This meant skating was rather bumpy. And for beginners, it was pretty easy to hit a chipped up spot and fall.Good luck to all who go. I had a fun time.

An
Review №13

My favorite place to skate! Always love getting to go on the oval, just wish the zamboni would come around a little more often (every 3 hours seems a tad too long). Id recommend getting there right when they open for the best ice.

Ga
Review №14

This is not a great place to practice for figure skaters during public skating hours. The ice does not get coated enough and it’s unsafe because it’s way too bumpy. It also dulls out your skates faster. Since the ice is a big oval you don’t really have your own place on the ice to practice on since people will get in your way. I don’t intend on coming back here to practice.

Great place to skate but what a nightmare renting skates. Staff dont care what they hand you and skates arent kept up very well with miss sized laces and skates that should obviously be replaced. The kids that work there can be irresponsible and neglectful at times. Once had to get attention of staff from phone after long period of time and there was a line. Other time 3 kids were back there joking around and ignoring customers.

I have been to the parking lot in front I have worked on the side of this building I have never actually walked inside. I give it five stars but I dont really know if thats true! So I figure for all the hassle that Google has given me about me having been to this place I might as well give it 4 stars

Enjoyed family skate with my five-year old son. Met a couple of families up from Chicago. One huge oval (400 m) with two international-sized hockey rinks in the middle and a running/walking track on the outside. Theres also hockey, figure skating, speed skating, curling, therapy skating, individual/group lessons, leagues -- something for everyone. Coming from NY, the prices are great (we pay over $20 locally for 1 adult + 1 child for one meh, crowded rink). Bring your own skates or rent for a small fee. Lockers available with coins. Vending machines and a small cafe for snacks/fast food in the basement. Skate shop and hockey shop on the ground floor. Nothing fancy, but a remarkable facility, which I try to visit every time we go to MKE. Tip: Its cold on the ice, so bring a sweater or jacket + gloves/mittens. I was very glad we had snow pants for my little guy
