The energy and passion of the people working here, looking after these wonderful creatures is enough to lure you into their world. Add to that, the numerous public engagement programs they have on the menu, and an aviary full of gregarious blue jays and doves, and you have a few hours of free serotonin therapy. See yall soon!
OBS is an Awesome place! There are plenty of trails to enjoy nature, birds that would not survive in the wild are lovingly cared for on the grounds and the staff is super friendly! I recommend it 100%.
The staff/owners were kind and courteous to all visitors, fares were less & appropriate..It was a sudden unplanned visit there, Maybe we had high expectations with the place been named as sanctuary. They should consider naming it as a bird rescue center rather calling it a sanctuary.. Our kids enjoyed the visit, still we covered everything in less than an hour..
They have plenty of different birds to see, big and small. They also have an aviary you can walk through with a small cup of seeds. Feeding birds is very nice.
My son and I had a great experience here! The best part for both of us was feeding the birds
Nice place to view rescued birds. Also nice eay to walk short trails near the Clear Fork river
Beautiful location, tremendous presentation of nature, very educational Children and Families
Very nice place. Loved the birds and the walking trails are great!
Short drive out into the beautiful countryside of Mansfield to this awesome place! Fun play area for the kids to play and climb, trails and up close looks at several different types of birds. Really enjoyed that it wasnt too big so it was enough for young children to throughly enjoy without being overstimulated or taking hours to go through. Definitely recommend very low cost and friendly staff!
Such an amazing time. Feeding the song birds was a once in a lifetime experience!
Its a little off the beaten path, and pretty small. But its cheap and a neat way to see some birds up close that you normally wouldnt. Feeding the birds is fun also.
Nice place to take kids to see the birds and walk around...
I love bird and I love large birds. It was sad to see them in cages but each cage explained why. People are terrible thats why. I had a great time. It was very cheap as well. All the money goes to care for the birds.
Great place giving injured birds a home and well taken care of
Excellent bird displays. Well maintained, easy to walk trails
More for little kids but still cool
Small. Knowledgeable staff. Up close to huge birds. We enjoyed ourselves.
I love this place! Only thing I wish was it was open more regularly
After not being to the Ohio Bird Sanctuary for over 15 years I was pleasantly surprised on our impromptu trip. My two young daughters absolutely loved the song bird enclosure and feeding the birds. There is a small picnic area to sit, birds to see, and even a small play area for the kids. There is a small fee of $3/adult and $1 for children but well worth it in my opinion.
Great place!! Friendly staff!! It is an inexpensive outing for your family to enjoy.
I was transporting a screech owl and everyone was SO nice and helpful. On top of that the place is just beautiful. An oasis for bird lovers!
Very friendly staff!! Beautiful trails to walk around on!! Great little play area for the kids!!
There is no words honestly to describe how wonderful this place is ... not only is Gail incredible, but all employees & volunteers are equally wonderful. The programs that are offered for kids are so invaluable.Thank you all for what you do...your passion for not only the birds, but nature & visitors shows in everything you do!
We have a soft spot for places that care for injured wild animals. This place is a gem! When some birds cannot be returned to the wild, they have become living education. Seeing an eagle or a hawk up close (relatively) is amazing. The song birds aviary is so much fun to visit with an extremely inexpensive cup of food for them to eat from. This also boasts many trails to hike, has a childrens learning/playroom, and a small gift shop as well as a bathroom. The workers are friendly.
Interesting place nice to see birds you wont see everyday
Nice place to visit for a quick stop. Entry price was cheap.
The Family loved it. Will be back!
The Ohio Bird Sanctuary was a nice place to stop by and check out different species of birds. They had a good selection to look at including, hawks, owls, falcons and bald eagles just to name a few. The birds areas were well kept and they were active enough to be able to see them eating, talking or eating. During the time we spent there, there was a live demonstration where an employee came out with a live Barn Owl and talked about the bird and its habits ad habitat. There was also a picnic area where we sat and ate our packed lunch which was out in the woods within listening distance of all the native birds of the area.
Always have a great time here! Its great seeing everything Ive built and worked on
Nice place, clean. Animals are well taken care of
What a hidden gem. I dont know how I have lived in the area for as long as I have, and had never been here. Went with friends to a night with the owls event. Great commons area, beautiful grounds and well maintained aviaries. The staff were very knowledgable, and took great care of all of the birds in their care, as well as the grounds around the facility. A hidden gem in Richlan County. Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.
Beautiful birds, and they set the leg of a starling my wife and I are rehabilitating for free.
Good people helping sick animals, go check them out
Wonderful and interesting to learn about the birds.Perfect day with grandchildren.
Small but worth the trip! Rescued birds, some you can feed! Nonprofit.
Very nice staff! Beautiful place!!
Good people doing good things.... Donate to them. I did.
Great Place to take the family. My kids love it!
Wonderful facility with well-cared-for rescue birds.
This is an amazing place in our area. A local treasure for sure!
Beautiful natural area where all bird species are cared for and shared with everyone.
For a dollar it was ok but if you dont live some what close I personally dont think its worth it
Cool place. Greeter very knowledgeable.
A gem in the middle of nowhere. Amazingly it is free and open to the public. Really loved the walk-in aviary where you could get up close to the birds and even feed them!
Such a Fun place. We loved looking at all the birds. Staff was super friendly and professional.
Pretty awesome selection of raptors! And you are able to handle feed songbirds in the aviary.
The birds were awesome. So was the staff. Grandkids loved feeding the jays and cardinals. A great experience.
Glad I came, brought back memories from my field trips when I was in school
Its peaceful and tranquil, the staff are eager to help injured or young birds fallen from the nest. They heal them or let them mature and release them back into the wild if possible. A truly wonderful place to visit.
Went to a wedding here, BEAUTIFUL!!! Walked the trails and checked out all the birds the next day, great place!
Has many birds you can interact with! The aviary has plenty of different birds that are people friendly and you can feed from your hand. Definitely worth going to!
Feeding the birds was fun
Well priced, but kinda small!
Took my granddaughter there. The lady that greeted us was very friendly and took extra time to explain to her on a level she could understandably the work they do there. She had such a good time and has asked to go back again sometime.
It is magic. You can see real owls, hawks, and eagles up close for free. You can feed smaller birds by hand. You can learn about birds from the rangers. They have an education center, kids can get a great experience. They actually help heal injured and sick birds from all over Ohio.
Such a great place to visit!! If you have children highly recommended! Take your significant other on a date feed the birds!!
Beautiful area! Saturday at 1pm, we were able to hear about an owl.
Took my kids, ages 12 and 14 to visit. They really enjoyed feeding the birds in the enclosure. Looking forward to going again
Nice place to go and get some fresh air and learn about the preservation of our wildlife. Do beware of driving there in the winter as the roads are quite steep!
Great fun having the birds come to you and feeding them.
Nice place small good for kids
This place is amazing. The aviary has very friend birds with a little feed that you can buy at the front desk you can have birds almost eating out of your hands! There are several hiking trials all around. Its fantastic!
A serious hidden gem. The small charge to see the eagles and Hawks is worth it. The songbird area is great as well. Walking trails and plenty of educational bits around the park
Super friendly staff! They love and care for all the animals there and love to see people enjoy them too!
This is a great place to take the kids
Several species of birds to see. I especially enjoyed the owls. Its short but well worth the 3 bucks.
So many great raptors!!
They have a great display for such a small place. The bird feeding is great for kids and the trails are nicely maintained.
Great things they do to save these birds.
A hidden gem in Richland county. Not really close to anything other than Clearfork reservoir but worth seeking out if you like birds and nature. Been there a couple of times and really enjoy it.
I stumbled upon this place browsing on Groupon. I was able to get a family membership for pretty cheap so my family and I did a little road trip. Its very inexpensive to get in even without a discount. There are several rare birds in enclosures to view along a path. Theres also an enclosed bird feeding exhibit which is kind of neat for all ages and a playground/picnic area. If you have kids this is a pretty neat place to spend a few hours. We packed a picnic lunch and we all enjoyed the outing.
Wonderful place! Grandkids love it. You can interact and feed some birds!
Its peaceful and beautiful, not too big so the hiking is great! Not to mention all the awesome birds you can view for a small fee.
Nice peaceful spot for a walk with nature. The birds on display are amazing, they have classes and camps for kids. The staff is friendly.
Great way to spend some time outside and get up close to some local bird life.

Beautiful place! Daughter went to camp this year and she has had so much fun!
Great place for bird lovers and anyone. Fun for my kids 5 and 7.
They do a great job of rehabilitating birds that are injured in the wild. The staff provides excellent educational opportunities on site and at local schools. Event facilities are available as well as memberships and volunteer work. Young and the young at heart will find it to be a great visit. You will see a variety of birds large and small. Everything from eagles to hawks, owls and even small songbirds and chickens.
For a small local area conservation group the OBS does a great jobThe sanctuary has several live birds on display as well as a lot of educational materials which are mostly hands on. I have enjoyed my visits to the site.
Very much enjoyed ourselves and we enjoyed having your friendly cat join us for lunch.
Bring your children here! It’s fun for just adults too. There is a crow that talks. That’s right. Crows are smarter than most of us realize. There are walking paths and all sorts of educational opportunities. The pricing went from donation to a small fee not too long ago. It’s worth it. Support the birds!
Description of why each bird is there, which is neat. A peaceful place to visit.
Excellent place to see and interact with native species. The birds are beautiful and well cared for. The staff are certainly dedicated to the work they perform. It was a real treat to tour the facility and experience the hard work and efforts by so many bird enthusiasts.
I saw an Eagle!
Great fun and educational a good place to take the family the kids loved it
