Beautiful, love the Shawshank and Martin Luther King monuments

My children love this place, at night its beautiful!

There are several beautiful buildings. The area could be a little better maintained and more curb appeal could be present, but it is still beautiful, depending on how you view things. Not very busy for being a Saturday, but peaceful and relaxing experience.

In just a small area of downtown there is a lot to take in. If you go, plan on going to the square and across Park Avenue. Take your time lookng.

This is a well known park for the movie ShawShank Redemption as the main character sits on the bench marked in one of my above pictures. This park is down town and has 2 parts to the park. On the other side is full of active locals and visitors alike. It has a fountain and picnic tables thats surrounded by the city buildings. Parking does have handicapped and you also have to pay a meter to park up close. There is no public restrooms yet full of monumentals honoring many...such as Martin Luther King Jr.!****Animal friendly! Peace in the middle of town...

Stayed in town for one night on our way home from vacation. We walked around and had dinner in the area and after a couple drinks found ourselves walking around enjoying the beautiful views of the city. What a lovely clean up kept park. Would definitely visit the area again.

I enjoy it mostly on Sundays not so busy just peaceful and it gives you chance to notice all the establishments for the weekdays to venture into

The only thing worth going down town for is Athens Greek restaurants, but you dont hang out down town.. Who wants to be asked for a lite or 1$ when they are trying to have family time... Rather go to Clear For, Pleasant Hill, or Mifflin

Very enjoyable, although not particularly peaceful due to the traffic being so close. We usually pokemon go there, which is a blast on community day events as players tend to gather there.

Its fantastic to host events at the gazebo, host a daily free meal around the fountain, the site for the Korean War Veterans Memorial and Brooks Bench from the film The Shawshank Redemption.

Its was behalf Islamic society of Mansfield Ohio distributes food at central park its most important to the last Friday of Ramadan for the food drive

I go to the park almost every day. Its especially nice in the summer and spring. Lot of stuff going on at the square.

Regardless of the litter, I love this park. Met some interesting people and got to worship, hear the church bells ring at 4pm every Sunday, and prayed for the city many times. Looking forward to next summer when I will return, God willing.

Quaint shops. The carousel is lovely.

The gazebo was decorated with lights during the Christmas season. It was beautiful. The park has xylophones for children to play. Its fun to see the children playing the xylophones.

I come here mostly to eat, but you better be there by 11:15, or theyll be done by the time you get to the front.

If youre good at avoiding the rain, Id say its still a beautiful place...but just not dry-butt-friendly most rainy days... Lol

The kids that go there ruin it for others! Theyre rude and disrespectful to other children and adults! It should be posted somewhere that Children need to be accompanied by an adult under a certain age or something! All those parks are terrible!

Yeah, we have a central park too! Its a great place to take a little break from your workday and enjoy the sunshine for a bit.
