Family fun! Pet friendly! We loved it. Fun trails and plenty of water fun. It is a little slick in spots. Wear old tennis shoes or good water shoes.
Its a unique place worth a visit. Close enough to I-70 to stop and have a look.
Really amazing natural formation, but extremely hazardous down by the falls. Two people in our party slipped on the mossy rocks under the water while carrying children. We also found a snake. But definitely worthwhile. Really beautiful, really cool. Theres a nice kayaking stream off of the main water spread.
Great place to take the family.. plenty of room to social distance and can walk down the river a little to swim in deeper water..
Fun little place to take the family. Careful going down the rocks, my little girl slipped and got some pretty good cuts. It seems that for the most part, the ones who want to drink and get a little foolish stay to one side and families stay to the other so it works out. Ive heard there are snakes up there but have yet to see one.
A very peaceful and serene place and excellent for cooling off in the summer heat
I love hiking here. its so nice
Love road trips and adventures. This was fun.
I found this little gem in the 80s as an art student and Its a great place to visit and even do some PleinAir painting or sketching. Its especially beautiful in the fall and please pay attention to the rules. NO FIRES whatsoever except in designated areas with control. Its too beautiful of a place to be destroyed by careless fires.
This is one of those places that once youve been, you dont soon forget. Off the beaten path but well used by locals and KSU students, it offers walking/mountain bike trails, shallow wading at the crossing with deeper water just up stream for canoeing or kayaking. Reasonably clean for the level of maintenance compared to the level of use. Great place to take the kids on a hot day to romp in the shallows or to take a renewing nature walk to get your mind right. During rainy periods, the use is limited due to high water, so keep that in mind. Spring of 2020 was especially wet. Flooding rains scoured the creek bed and created areas of gravel deposition and bank erosion, but thats what nature does. Grab the dog, a bottle of water and a granola bar and get yourself some fresh air!!!
Its a great place for families of all ages, dog friendly and just all around beautiful place to enjoy the good weather. Parking can be a little tricky but its only because its such a great place to be!!!
It’s a really chill spot during the weekend. Everyone seems to come here to have fun and relax.
Its a great place to walk and dip your toes in the water. Just gets over crowded sometimes which leads to a lot of trash.
Was better when you could park on the water
Great place to take the whole family to go swimming.
We go to have peace of mind ... Bonding time w.e ... Love it...
Went canoeing with friends. It was absolutely beautiful. Very relaxing and easy to navigate. The waterfall is a great experience too. This area is perfect for kids. Lots of shade and its enough beauty packed into a small area that you dont overwhelm or exhaust the little ones.
I love this place because it is a wonder of nature worthy of preservation!
Beautiful! Wished we got to kayak maybe next time.
Grandkids had a great time playing in the water. Go durring the weekday weekends are so crowded.
Amazing views!!! Will be back to explore.
Perfect hangout for all kinds of ages!
Home of Deep Creek Falls. We were on a road trip across Kansas to Visit Colorado. My daughter picked a few places to visit to break up the long drive. This waterfall though not tall was the winner . Worth the drive off of I70. Hey Kansas this makes me want to plan a crisscross of the little spots in two years when I vacation west again.
Great scenic spot.
Beautiful place to take the family and enjoy nature
Its slippery but its beautiful!
Beautiful hidden gem in Kansas.
The waterfall is absolutely amazing, the trails are quiet with solitude. Very tranquil place
What a beautiful place to hang out, swim, walk, and explore! It is fun for all ages. One of the best parts is climbing behind the falls under the rock ledge. But the swinging rope into the river is also very fun!
Spent a good time there
Absolutely beautiful and so relaxing, love!!!
Not the best state park Ive been too. The hiking trail itself is rather nice, with good views of the creek, several benches, and a picnic table. However, the trail is also incredibly short and just about the only good thing about the park. There are no trash cans, so visitors have to take any trash with them. Also, for all I know, there might be more of the park on the east side of the creek but I wasnt able to get across the creek, since theres no bridge. The only way to get across is to drive right into the creek. (All I can imagine is that scene from Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, when Phil Silvers tries to drive across that stream.)
Bring your swimsuit and some sunblock. A lot of college kids and alcohol but a fun vibe. Great place to take your dogs.
Swimming here isnt allowed, but people unfortunately do it anyway. It is a nice destination for a drive from Manhattan. Also a good spot to launch a canoe in the creek. Some friends and I were easily able to paddle about a mile upstream before encountering a logjam.
Awesome fishing spot!
Very beautiful place.
Peaceful setting and the waterfall was beautiful
Love this place!!! Nothing like peace family and friends!!!
So easy to get lost here all day. The workers keep it mowed before the creek, but sadly over the creek is uncut grasses, trash and debris. Plz clean that bc broken glass can hurt! However, the side kept mowed has short trails that lead away from the falls to a calmer cove. Trails sneak off so really good for solitude! Bring Off! and a knife for that lol
A pretty historical water crossing. A lot of fun to cross on motorcycles. Even with a fair amount of rain recently, the water was only 6 inches deep.
A must see natural area in northeast Kansas
Nice area. Would be better if they allowed swimming.
Pillsbury Crossing is a low water crossing of Deep Creek that has been used to cross for more than a century. Just past the crossing is Deep Creek Falls, a small waterfall. My wife and I visited while chasing waterfalls in the Midwest. Its only about 6 feet high, but runs the width if the creek and is very scenic. In low water, I imagine it could dry up completely. Note that there are no trash cans here, so please pack out your garbage.
Amazing place to come out with the family just to relax and take some pics or go fishing. There is a beautiful waterfall here as well.
Crowded and the water was rather smelly
We were excited to visit this waterfall but very disappointed, saddened, and angered to see all the trash/litter everywhere. We picked up two bags and could easily have picked up 10 more. It seems to be a party place too as about 25 mud-slathered teens were gathered there smoking, drinking, jumping off the cliffs, and adding to the litter with no regard for the destruction they were causing. It was very sad to me and we quickly left.
Amazing you gotta see it to believe it if you go when the water levels go down it can be an amazing trail
Very nice place, fun to visit with my husband.
A very cool place to visit especially after rainfall
Always a interesting crowd gathered. Family friendly and pet friendly.
It was totally fun and amazing. The girls went off the rope for there first time.
Fantastic place to take the family or just take ur pups out for a walk in the water. Forewarning lots of little watersnakes running around!
Love this place
The water fall is beautiful when it rains..otherwise it is bone dry...
Came with the family and enjoyed my time here, it was definitely special and a place to go back again.
Love the waterfall, check out the view from the bluff too
Nice trail, was expecting more of a waterfall not just an area of water flowing over a foot drop off rocks.
Although it was no ones fault there wasnt any water going across the rocks the place had no trash cans, no light in the bathrooms, and no picnic table! Whats happening here? It used to be clean and fun to go there. Now you cant park on the crossing and the only shade tree has fallen. Even the teenagers were disappointed.
Great for families
A nice little park with a drivable water crossing with one of the few natural water falls in Kansas. There are usually rope swings available, a few small cliff jumps, and you can put a kayak or canoe in and paddle upstream about 3/4 of a mile.
Lovely place that is a bit of a drive from what you normally do in Manhattan. Its great to swim, fish, hammock, or just hang out. If youre planning on walking around remember to wear shoes you dont care about getting muddy.
Nice place, just watch out for Water moccasins.
I used to love going here on the weekends when I was stationd at Fort Riley. A lot of good memories cliff jumping from that place. That was over 10 years ago. Hope its still the same
Its a nice little get away. A lot of trash though. Most who visit here arent exactly the responsible or respectful type. Sad.
Neat spot, but extremely muddy . Very slick trying to make it to the water.
More water this year. Beautiful.
Such an interesting place to visit. A very shallow stream you can simply drive right into and even park. Beautiful place to take photos.
Great place for a family afternoon, best when tgere have been recent rains to the north so theres more water flowing. Beware of parties in the evenings, even though drinking alcohol is prohibited. Parks and wildlife needs to crack down more on this.
Beautiful as always, but they now prohibit vehicles from parking on the crossing.
Amazing place.
Great place to relax and enjoy nature, wonderfully preserved natural area. Nice place to swim float or just kick back.
A jewel of Kansas geology.
One of my favorite places to relax at when returning to Kansas from Detroit. Pure relaxation!!! Tons of memories made here!!
Beautiful clean great place to visit been going there for years
Cool place...hidden away in the Flint Hills!!
AMAZING!
Its okay for a day trip, or a drive the falls are dry right now, in June. Maybe better luck in the fall. There is a lot of trash around the trail area, which was disappointing. There is also a public restroom, a few benchs and a picnic table.
This used to be my favorite place to go but like most other beautiful things in nature humans have ruined it. It’s become very dirty with a lot of trash being left behind.
Thought it was going to be cooler. My kids liked when we drove fast across the water and made big splashes though.
Beautiful this year!!!!
Not enough water this time of year
