Over the last 20+ years I have spent countless hours enjoying the quiet fun filled atmosphere of this place. Its fun for all ages. Over the last several years they have made many improvements to the landscaping planted a variety of trees along the impressive trail surrounding the property. The playground could admittedly use some updates but all equipment is still functional and fun. My family and I plan on enjoying this place for many years to come.

The Manhattan Area Amateur Radio Society met at the park for our annual Field Day. We gather and setup in a location to practice emergency communication methods. The event takes place over a 24 hour period the last full weekend in June. Thanks to local operators, we setup a scenario modeling a deployment to a small town. The conditions were: no cell service, landlines down and communications need to be established for local volunteers and Emergency personnel.Several portable antenna towers were erected, a communications room setup on-site. The local area comms were provided by a Yaesu digital repeater, which gave responders the ability to take a picture with their radio and send it to another user.Mother Nature decided to play ball and doused the event with a torrential rainfall and 60mph winds. All the antennas and gear performed and was ready to reach out. Some of the broadcasts are digital, like sending a text message through the radio. Error correction ensures the whole message gets through intact. The thought being to provide health and welfare information from a disaster area to the outside world.Keats proved to be an area with almost zero cell phone coverage, so the event was actually very close to our scenario. The park was a great host and has facilities which can be reserved for events. Bathrooms on-site and a ballfield, multiple picnic areas under cover.

Small park, but beautiful. Love all the new trees that were recently planted. The kitchen/shelter/gazebo is a great place to use for gatherings. The playground, baseball, basketball areas are well maintained. Love taking walks here.
