A really sweet place to visit. The staff care about the animals. There is a blind little owl theyve been caring for for 27 years! Took us less than an hour to tour the property. A nice easy thing to do with kids or animal lovers. There was hardly anyone there and their covid precautions were on point.

Best Fathers Day in quite some time. I loved being able to see and read about all the different birds of prey. I am glad there is a place like this to help people understand these awesome creatures and their role in the natural world around us. Everyone that has a chance should go and visit this facility. It is well worth more than the admission donation. If you are looking for a good cause to support this would be worthy.

Really nice place. Its on the smaller size, but its well priced and the people that work there help injured birds. The money is very well spent. They have a variety of birds on display and most of them are in the open on perches and can be seen. We would definitely come back and visit again.

We stopped by and were unsure if wed stay, considering it looked like a residential back yard (from the street). DO NOT LET THAT DETER YOU!The location was gorgeous. The folks here do a ton of work for injured wildlife, and provide sanctuary for those who cannot return to the wild. The staff are phenomenal, and we want to give a special shout-out to Beth and to David for volunteering to stay late to answer our questions- David is very knowledgeable and shared some fascinating perspectives from working with raptors. Our other shout out goes to the gentleman who welcomed us to the sanctuary (I believe his name is Moshe). The overall experience was a surprising highlight of our entire Florida trip. Because of our interactions with the birds and the staff, weve already sent a donation, and will be encouraging our network to do the same.Enjoy your visit- youll leave feeling great!

Really great place. They use their space well. You have a house with enclosures surrounding it that makes for a lovely walk. All the birds are beautiful. They have a few opportunities to enjoy getting to see the birds without being blocked by fencing which is super cool. The staff are helpful and super nice. They have a small vet tech outer building and a pretty big lake gazebo. The only thing that I was sad about is there looks like a large building where the birds get flight exercised and while you cant go in youre to be able to live stream it from a TV but the setup wasnt working. I definitely would have liked watching it if given the chance. The best part is the frequency and variety of birds staff will bring out to the front on a glove. We saw 3 birds up close this way. For any bird lover this is a must. Owls Hawks and Eagles!

Folks, this old world has hidden treasures everywhere. All you have to do is look! And sitting right in your backyard Orlando is this gem. You will experience beautiful birds you would not otherwise know exist because of their habitat. These folks care for and rehab raptors brought to them by caring citizens who find them injured out in the world. They provide a safe environment for them and, if and when the bird is healed, release them back into the wild. Some of these creatures though, are permanent residents due to their injuries. This is a great learning experience for children and adults alike. It will help you appreciate our world a little better. Visit them, you will not regret it.

What a great place to visit and learn about birds of prey. This rescue and rehab center has been around since the 1960s and does an excellent job. Admission is not much and the proceeds go to the well being of the birds. Some birds are rehabilitated and released and some others are permanent residents. Sometimes they get to go out on educational programs too,

This place is a real hoot! All puns intended. My girlfriend and I visited this center yesterday for something to do thanks to groupon. The volunteer at the front was very kind and happy to see us. He explained the self guided tour and how the sanctuary works. The place was clearly old, but well kept and the grounds were clean. It was rather small, but that makes me happy assuming they return more birds to nature then keeping them haha.It was neat seeing all the birds they had, from eagles to owls. This place has been around for a very long time. The last time I visited was with my Nana when I was 9, its one of my favorite memories with her. It was great to see this place still doing what it can to help our local wild life. Fun fact: my parents and I had a Red Tail Hawk who was injured and fell in our backyard when I was a kid. No one would help us till finally we found this place and they came out to rescue it since it was an endangered species. His wing was injured, my mom told me yesterday they kept him since he couldnt be returned to the wild. So I wonder if he was the Red Tail Hawk I saw in one of the enclosures. Its very neat what this place does and I really enjoyed my visit. When you get half way through I suggest take a walk on the bridge to the lake. It was very nice to sit at and in the water there are Lotus flowers growing. They were so pretty. They give you a booklet that explains the birds in the enclosure. Great place for families and kids. Expect to spend an hour to hour and half if youre one of those people who stop at every enclosure and take it all in.4 out of 5. Nothing super exceptional but excellent what they do for the birds and that they allow the public to visit to get better knowledge of their environment.

First and foremost, it must be understood that this is not a zoo. This is a rescue and rehabilitation facility that seeks to return these amazing birds of prey to the wild, safely house those for whom this is impossible, and educate the public about these wonderful Aves. The facility houses a wide variety of birds of prey, and is highly informative about them. They are able to supply live fish for them, which they hunt for from pools in their enclosures, from the nearby lake, and it is a sight to see. The entry fee is a great value, especially to support education about and conservation of these animals.

Disappointed. I had rescued an osprey that cut its wing on a truck and when I called, the woman said they close at 5 and since we would just be able to get there, they could not save this beautiful bird. I stayed for hours waiting on animal control until I could convince a vet who was local to see him. Not sure how things worked out as the vet closed and I have not heard anything. The osprey was doing well except for his wing. I hope he made it. No help from these people.

This place is not only full of beautiful birds its also full of people that vaulenteer or work there not for the monetary gain but because they saw a real need to step in and do a part in saving the wildlife that human beings take for granted and are consistently destroying their habitat, their home. These birds just like all wild animals dont have a voice, they dont get to protest or defend their homes, its so sad what we have done to our planet and with little concern to the balance of us verses wildlife, we win-they lose, we are ignorant to the fact that in the long run the earth will balance itself and when its us against mother nature we will lose. Im proud that their are small groups like this doing their part to help, we all need to become aware of the problems we as mankind are causing so it is important to bring your children to places like this to educate them. They need to know what is being done for the birds, and what they can do to help. If only we could really educate our youth, not to become consumers, not to only be cogs in economy machine, but really educate them to live to make the world a better home for all beings that are so blessed to be born on this oasis in space. This Earth does not belong to any single being or group of beings, this Earth is a ark for all Life, Life is precious, life should be cherished and Loved, all Life has one thing in common, plants and animals, are all trying to survive, I think we all deserve more than that, we where born on Earth which is the perfect place for us all to Thrive! Please watch Thrive on YouTube also watch billions for change and ask yourself what can you do to make the Earth a better place to live for someone or something else. I personally pick up trash when I am waiting for someone, or when I have time off, its not much but I think about how clean it would be if 1% of people did that, it would be great if the few people that do throw trash out their car window would wait and use a trash can at the gas station, and who knows, maybe seeing me pick up the trash inspires someone to change that bad habit. The point is to ask yourself if everyone did what I am doing what would the world be like? If it would be better then do it, if not then dont. Its time we all take responsibility for not only ourselves but all Life and the environment we all share. I admire everyone here at The Birds of Pray for taking responsibility for these beautiful beings of Life. Thank you all for doing our home planet this service.
