This place is gorgeous and intricately designed. The Aztec-like artwork mixed with some conquistador Spanish style is rich in history and gives the facility a magical ambiance to explore. The versions courtyards and walkways leave you mesmerized and longing to continue exploring this tranquil museum.

Beautiful is all I can say! This place is small but it has so much to offer. The best part is that while touring the grounds you get to see some of the classes going on or some of the artist working which is pretty cool. This is truly a place you must go see for yourself! As an artist I look forward to taking some classes here as this is a great space and ambiance for creating!

Perfect for the history and art lovers! This is perfect for the girl or guy that does not like to feel confined to the interior walls of a ballroom. This venue is perfect for the couple that wants creative freedom with selecting their own caterer + bartender. Trust me the multiple site locations and the picturesque gardens will tug on your heartstrings.

Truly a hidden gem in Maitland, Florida, the Art & History Museums-Maitland is such a unique spot to get married/ host an event! At Orlando Wedding & Party Rentals, weve had the pleasure of working with this venue for a number of years, and weve loved every single event! The A&H team is always on their A-game, making our job that much sweeter. You cant beat the historic architecture, and the attentive team at A&H!

Beautiful museum exhibit and intriguing telephone museum. Went on a Saturday around 11am to see orange exhibit at the museum.Museum admission ($6.00 regular) entrance was a bit confusing as I went through the studio workplaces instead, which looked amazingly Mediterranean-like though. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. She first asked questions like if I was a student or Maitland resident for discounts. I was neither which was okay. To see the telephone museum, outside of the exhibit museum, I had to let the receptionist know whenever I’m ready to go there. Telephone museum is small but wonderful curation of telephones from different eras. So unique. She had time to even give me a brief tour. I grew-up seeing those public pay phones and the old-school plastic cord phones, so I felt nostalgia. The receptionist even said some little kids would ask what the public pay phones were. Amazing how inventions happen over time and time flies! The art gallery is also separate from the temporary orange exhibit I saw. It’s down right next to the museum. It’s also small but the one I went to had hyperrealism of citrus fruit and other paintings and sculptures.

Smallest museum Ive ever paid to get into. And I thought it was a joke that the entire museum was just pictures of oranges. But it wasnt a joke. The grounds made the trip perfect though. I loved it. So calm and peaceful. It was amazing.

This is a cute place to stop in and check out. It has art, sculptures and a small garden. They also have classes you can check out artists in action or join in. Its also right in your own backyard! There is also a beautiful area to have a small outdoor wedding with a reception hall close.

This is a very whimsical space, built in the 1920s when a fascination with exotic mayan culture played a big part in the roaring 20s. I love photographing fashion sessions, engagement photos, portraits and fashion photo shoots here because of its many interesting architectural elements, the ancient live oak trees that surround it and the history that makes it an iconic Maitland site. For photographers, I would recommend purchasing the annual photography pass which allows you to reserve the location privately up to 10 times a year.

The Maitland Art Center is the best kept secret in Central Florida. A beautiful little gem hidden off the beaten path, the Center is a historic landmark built in 1937 by Andre Smith as an artist colony. It has a wonderful gallery and museum, along with several active studios tucked away in a serene Mayan Art Deco campus. There are great exhibits, art class of all types, and sponsored artists-in-residence. Art classes of all types are offered. It is a perfect location for events - I had my own wedding there.

This place is insane. I live less than 5 minutes from it and it was the first venue me and my husband checked when we were looking around for our wedding venue. And last. I left the place on my phone cancelling all the other appointments because as soon as we walked in, we knew that we wanted to get married there. An incredible an magical atmosphere. Then we met Kelly and she exceeded our expectations from day one to even after our wedding day. She showed us around, gave us many options (prices are GREAT!) and followed up with us all the way. We also booked the Cottage for me to get ready and it was so beautiful and delicate - and Kelly was there when we arrived, and when we were leaving for the ceremony. Some unexpected rain also arrived with me, punctually at the exact same time as the ceremony as about to start (!!!!). Kelly and all their preferred vendors were honestly AMAZING with moving us to the GM building (our plan B) and making sure everything was good to go - that made a whole difference for me, that was in a car, ready to get married and having to deal with that all last minute. They were so great that I had nothing to worry about. Their flexibility is also great, because since we didn´t get to experience our wedding at the Chapel like we dreamed of, they offered for us to go back another time with our photographer to have a session free of charge and keep those memories forever. We had a great experience, I will never forget this place, Kelly and all the vendors that worked with us. Don´t get worried if you don´t know them - A&H staff has hand picked great vendors that will make it all super stress free and have great quality/prices as well. If i could give even more stars, I would.

Beautiful!! So worth the trip! The grounds, carvings, paintings, chapel, fountain, all wonderful. And the staff were very friendly and shared other great recommendations for my trip. I especially loved being in such an artistic living space, not just seeing art behind a case or on a wall like most museums. I walked through the gardens, sat on the benches, watched the birds and the geckos. Peaceful and inspiring. I highly recommend it.

This is worth the stop. The creator of this former artist colony produced a lot of African American inspired art for area churches in the 1930s until his death in 1959. The museum is now owned by the City of Maitland and is preserved well. This is great American art at its finest.

My husband and I got married here last April and the wedding was absolutely beautiful! The venue is so unique and charming and everyone raved about it to us all night. We loved working with Kelly who was always there to answer questions in a quick fashion and with kindness. The venue is small, intimate, historic, and beautiful and one of the best wedding venue options in Florida in my opinion. And there are so many great spots for cool photographs that youll love!

Don’t take art classes here as there is no structure or commitment to training. “Classes” are a social event at best and personal growth is hindered by disorganized classroom settings and students work being discarded before finished, without prior notification. Would not recommend this studio but to someone who is bored and wants a creative outlet!

Went out with some friends for a Saturday adventure, and we found this place. It was such a cool experience! It was pretty warm outside, so not many people were out. There are many large oak trees that provide shade, so we were comfortable. The stonework and art resemble Catholic influenced Mayan themes. Worth spending a few hours exploring nd taking pictures. We also walked through the art gallery. It wasnt very extensive, but there was beautiful art, and representative of the local landscape.
