Its was awesome! Maybe because I got to try out my new kayak for the first time without a bunch of people there.

Very peaceful place when you want to get away from the world. You can fish there cookout there pack a lunch. And u can watch the train when it passes. Well kept bathroom, and playground. You can sit there and just let the weight of the world just melt away. The only bad thing is those birds pooping every where

Loved it here took my kids there and they played on the play ground very quite and wound have gave it a 5 star but grass needed to be cut was very high.

Very peaceful and relaxing didnt catch any fish this day though.

A small hidden gem. I dont think many people in the Lynchburg area know about. A small boat ramp, tables, some ducks, playground, and the river to fish on all while close to downtown Lynchburg yet far enough away.

Would definitely consider it a local hangout. Would be alot more appealing if the bathrooms were updated and the trash cans werent always full. All in all, its a fun place to burn up some gas.

Gets a little crowded at times, but over all its a pretty decent lil park. I do wish a second dock would be installed to enable folks to keep their boats and personal water craft away and clear off the boat ramp.

Beautiful setting but the shower/washrooms were nasty and NO toilet paper. Nice covered picnic area and well shaded. Boat ramp.

Small but cute playground with open bathrooms and beautiful view of Monacan Lake. The playground could be a little cleaner and better maintained but not bad.

Nice place lots of small fish slot limit is 14 to 22 makes it tough to tournament fish but just for day out great

Monocan Park a fishermans paradise rite almost in my backyard..With my grandaughter and a good lunch sitting in my jon boat.then comes a freight train 10 feet from ya.What a feeling

It is illegal to drop in a boat with any wake enhancing device is how the Countys law is written. So its the county sheriffs jurisdiction to issue a citation at the boat ramp since they maintain the dock and boat ramp. Once youre on the water it is DGIFs jurisdiction and all State boating laws apply. You may now show a digital copy of your boaters license. As always a few people who live on the River feel they own the river and can keep the public-at-large out by any means possible. This law is poorly written and I would challenge to say that even a bass boat with a water well would be considered a wake enhancing device. I sincerely doubt anyone is coming here to play on the poorly-maintained playground or use the restrooms.

Always a bunch of perverted old men riding thru and gawkers. nice place if not for that. cant stay after dark to catfish too many trouble makers hanging around. I seriously dont suggest this for a family outing.
