Crisp hickory leaves flutter through the tree canopy. Geese swoop down in formation to College Lake. In contrast to the pavement on much of the city trail system, Creekside is in a more natural state. Road and construction sounds fade a couple hundred feet from Lakeside Drive to be replaced by chattering squirrels, woodpeckers, and titmouse. Watch carefully for remnants of a 1940s era stone fire circle and BBQ pit closer to the lake. We didn’t pass one living soul on this trail, though the spirit of an unburied Union soldier is said to roam the banks of College Lake.
We have a great time at the Nature Zone.
Always an enjoyable experience.
Three words:Steam engine display!
Affordable family activities. Great instructors, clean facilities. Checkout all their programs you wont be disappointed
These folks go above and beyond to make this communities parks&rec a real treasure
Excellent class in Italian. Knowledgeable instructor. Effectively communicated the class curriculum in a light hearted and engaging fashion. A true delight to be in class each week!
Tamara Parker was very helpful, and extremely kind. Also helped me get stuff accomplished quickly.
Not bad. Would be a great place for kids but they have a homeless shelter next to the park. A lot of shady looking people hang out in Miller Park. Once that gets addressed it will be a good place for kids
Great park for families, earlier in the day/afternoon. The evenings can be a little dicey, but considering its a public park in the middle of Town, with the only public pool, we enjoy most days!
The theater is a wonderful place to have a recital.
Has a pool. Can enjoy. Relaxing. Sometimes there are. Ball game. For. The kids. You can watch.
Like the trails, parks, activities, etc, but dont like the personnel.
They have much to admire in their parks .
Not to bad. Grass and grounds well maintained. Pretty with lot of old trees. Only negative thing...A LOT of Cigarette butts all over the place near pavilions. Gotta love inconsiderate ppl. Maybe put out some ash tray areas? But otherwise nice park.
Great Park clean. Family friendly
The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a nice place to reserve if you need to hold a small business meeting or conduct a class or training.
Lots of programs and classes offered. Easy to register.
It has a great deal to offer familes.
Lynchburgs got a terrific group of people coming up with creative ideas for activities and building and maintaining trails and facilities. I love the downtown trails. The Blackwater Creek Trail is one of my favorite things about Lynchburg.
Wonderful choices for spring...sign up and be enriched!
Nice gem & mineral meeting location
It is a great place to take the kids
Nice place to rent for events...
Great programs. Food Truck Thursday. The Miller Center.
Lots of parks in this small city. Great community centers that are run well and offer scads of activities, especially for the young and old.
Very educational
A fun playground!
Great parks for multiple usage, not just sports fields.
Ive noticed there is a massive lack of benches in the parks?? Why??? Not everyone can or wants to hike trails. More seating please!!!
