Beautiful place to take your family and friends. Great road access with decent parking available. Green belt area for picnics and being near the water, very cool little place next to the waterfall. Also serves as a trail head for a network of Lynchburgs finest trails miles of trails that take you downtown or all the way to Boonsboro.
A nice area to take the family to look at the waterfall and have a nice water view without having to hike to get there. The walking trail is really nice and well. I dont feel super comfortable walking it by myself, but Ive done it without any issues.
So beautiful right near our downtown loft! Feels safe, and like were in the mountains right here at home.
It is a great place to grill outside next by the creek and enjoy a nice view of nature without having to hike at all. I would recommend for small events or to show your friend from out of town one of the little hidden jems of Lynchburg.
This is a nice little park with some grills for cookout. Its a place with the great little view is quiet spread out and peaceful. It connects to two one of the city trails and you can go for a nice little walk straight from the park.
A nice chill spot in the area to relax. Saw few folks fishing here too so might as well bring my line next time.
Peaceful place to go for some quiet time
Nice loaction for fresh air
Hollins mill park is my favourite urban forest area in Lynchburg. It has a number park, where you can enjoy berbeque. The stream right beside the park provides the perfect setting to test your fishing skills while the berbeque does its job. Or if you prefer, you can bring in your canoe and enjoy the stream. Multiple hiking routes provide you great options for hiking or even cycling. And to top it off, the stream jumps over a wide man made waterfall giving it a great view.
The waterfall and tunnel was awesome.
Overall fun. The water bank near the waterfall is trashy from people fishing in it.
This is quite literally my favorite part of Lynchburg. Im not sure why this place is such a secret with all that it offers, but Im glad it is fairly unheard of since it stays quiet and calm. With a waterfall, tunnel, and a bridge, there is no lack of exploration within this park. All the trails are kept well and I could easily spend hours walking/biking this park.
Well maintained, nice trails.
Great trails beautiful place
Absolutely gorgeous area. Great for walks and picnics. Dog friendly.
Cool spot. Fun place for a noce walk through trails.
Love this place great trails
Beautiful and peaceful. We took our kids and they loved it! Definitely recommend visiting!
Excelent park for the family a really good walk awesome scenery
Beautiful creekside scenery
The water wouldnt drain out when you turn the shower on but it was still nice could had been better
This is just a view from the train, which will certainly pass by at some point, although, multiple freight trains are more likely throughout the day and night, except for the twice a day that the Amtrak Northeast Regional makes the last stop, (or the first stop), depending upon how you look at it... the Southernmost of the NE Corridor route.Enjoy..!
I love this peaceful place. You must visit and walk trails. I lost over 50 lbs. And still going
Great water fall
This is such a beautiful park. If youre looking for great views while hiking, give this place a shot. The fall and underpass is breathtaking, and the number of trails to choose from makes Hollins Mill a sight to see.
Fun place to play. Pretty trails and lots to do.
When the water is not muddy, the waterfall is beautiful. The trail will take you to phenomenal places. Whichever direction you choose where trails merge, you will be immersed in natural beauty.
Beautiful trails and places to take photos
Very pretty, small park with a cute waterfall thats great for walking, fishing, and picnicking.
Love this park! Great trails. Semi-new canoe launch. Waterfall. Geese there seasonally. Its a wonderful place to enjoy Lynchburg nature.
Nice little park. The geese are pretty but have messed all over the place so that detracts from the over all experience. Even with that we had a nice time. The facilities are limited.
Absolutely beautiful. Got some great photos.
Loved it. Small park but real neat!!!
Such a beautiful walk! Lots to see, some uniqueness trees and sightings. Easy, open trails, plenty of paved paths, so biking is an option as well. And (pretty sure) its posted no swimming/wading.
It looks like a beautiful park but not after extreme flooding. We just had the timing off. A great place to stop off during a day trip in and around the area.
Well maintained and always improving. Great scenic and easy trail access. Part of the Black Water Creek trail. Great area with tons of open space, charcoal grills, potable water source, restroom, picnic tables along Black Water Creek, and kayak/canoe landing.
Love this park! So serene! The atmosphere really lends itself to positivity.
Great relaxing place also great bike trails I ride at least twice a week
The tunnel trail was vool.
It was a great place to go because there was alot to see
Good place to bring the kids to n fish
Very peaceful
Been coming here for years, love this park
Fun hikes
Very pretty scenery. Great place for a picnic.
Perfect for a bike ride, hike, or walk. Beautiful and peaceful.
A nice simple place along trails for a gathering of friends
Park itself is ok but the trails it connects to are great!
Water (duh) is very high right now!!! The waterfall looks & sounds amazing!!! Stop by to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of it!!!
The family and I love to picnic here.
Nice clean park! Great to take the kids to walk or play.
The park seems like a great place to go throw a frisbee or even set at picnic table and watch the water. But beware the geese they have droppings EVERYWHERE . If you are allergic to down I wouldnt bother even stopping except maybe for a quick glance at the water/fall and keep it moving
Cute little park with a decent waterfall view
The waterfalls are pretty and the trails well maintained
Soo beautiful... It will take your depression away and you can stare at it floating away.
I love walking down the trail and looking for this beautiful waterfall. Many of my memories are of the place and its relaxing to reminisce about them
Gorgeous and right out of the city limits of Lynchburg
Love this park... especially enjoy the waterfall and paved trails. Grills and picnic tables available.
Quiet park right outside the city
It was cool but a lot of goose poop so you really have to watch your step, which I think is a pain. Otherwise its nice.
It was beautiful, secerne, and tranquil,a true place of beauty.
Very nice for pics
Great, peaceful area with a pretty waterfall.
Good.....
A nice park with access to the Blackwater Creek Trail, a kayak/canoe launch site, and picnic tables and grills. There is also decent fishing for sunfish, small mouth bass, and catfish. The problem is the trash in the creek. Its sad to see SOOO much garbage floating around and laying on the banks. A greater effort needs to be put into the maintenance of the park.
Sad what happened with the flood of Aug. 2018 and the damage done.. But still a beautiful little spot to stop and take life in.. Thank you to the folks of Lynchburg, amazing job on maintaining the parks.
Such a beautiful and peaceful place...especially so close in the city.
Easy access, easy walk, well maintained trail and park. Great scenery
Didnt go too far on the trail because the bugs were getting outta hand
This was a very beautiful place to take pictures in front of a waterfall. Has picnic tables places to fish. Very nice.
Splendorous views and trails to walk along!
Love this park
I loved this place. Went went walking through the tunnel. I had a great day there with my daughters.
Pretty waterfall, convenient location, and nice for picnicking. I brought my kids here to eat lunch. We sat at the top at a picnic table and enjoyed ourselves. After eating, we walked for a bit on the trail. However, after walking down the trail for a while, the water began to stink really bad...theres a storm drain for excess water during times of heavy rain and it was around that drain pipe system when it began to stink. It smelled like sewage really bad although Im not sure why because the drain is for excess water, not sewage. But after walking past it for a little while longer, we turned around because the smell did not subside. Other than that and coming across a dead animal on the trail, it was nice. The waterfall and path across the creek were my kids favorite things. Plus, the kids spotted a blue heron in a tree which they thought was really cool.
Nice little place for a picnic and a walk or ride .
Great trails - connects all the way down to the James River, to the Black Creek trails and even to the awareness garden. Great bike path as well.
Nice place to go and walk or bike.
Cool place to walk around
Hopefully BWC will be freshened up & fully restored soon!
Love going here. Beautiful place to visit or bike ride even a little bit of fishing.
