Point of Honor is a beautiful Federal home built in 1815 by Dr Cabell who was a physician to Patrick Henry. The tour was excellent and they have done a fabulous job restoring the home. Great view of the James River from the second story. The rooms are enormous with lots of large windows and intricately carved mantel pieces. The dining room and the receiving room are particularly nice.
I was excited to be able to make the trip and I hope to see them soon and it back for another event in the future. Thanks for all your hospitality and being a part of your family. Rodney.
Learn what Honor means at the Point! Beautifully restored early american home an easy walk from Downtown!
Closed due to Covid. Great view.
Came to their fall festival today, had a great time, the grounds are beautiful and the exterior of the home looks great, unfortunately the wait for a tour was a little longer than I would have hoped but Ill definitely come back for a tour! The vendors and activities today were really family friendly. Im excited to return!
Its a historical house like many others. ($6 admission, so we didnt tour it, weve seen enough of these!) But the grounds are nice to stroll around on and its a nice view of downtown Lynchburg. The fellow at the Visitors Center/Gift Shop was friendly and knowledgeable.
I had a great time exploring our history. Tours are a must. Check and see how our forefathers lived. Very interesting.
This is just a staple of historical place to visit in Lynchburg Virginia if you wanted to fix some of them like interactive museums you can even see some fireplaces split up someone cooking and learn a little bit about our local history and an area that is actively being restored but houses mansions and other types of historical development in the area this is downtown to as convenient location and you can easily stopped by and asked me before going to breakfast or lunch with other plants so its a really great place to stop on the weekday or on the
Good atmosphere. The actors Adam and Eliza were on point! This was quiet a profound experience.
Love history and the tour guides are great with questions and helping you really visualize the way the families lived. Day at the Point is always a hit!
Cody was a fantastic guide and we enjoyed touring the house.
Beautiful historic building overlooking downtown Lynchburg! Be sure to notice the carpet in the foyer that is really made from heavy duty oil cloth, which was handpainted to resemble tile! Just gorgeous interior!
Point of Honor is a well known historic landmark in Lynchburg. I highly recommend visiting with the kids so they can see American life as our ancestorsexperienced it.
Beautiful place. Lots of history
This house has a long history and charm to it. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The state of the house is amazing and the side attractions are worth the visit. A must see stop if you are in the area.
Lots of fun and loved Watts popin and chiilin kettle corn
What a beautiful place. Im new in town, but this was first on my places-to-see. The property is immaculately maintained, and everyone from the gift shop to the docents was incredibly pleasant. I think it was $6.00 for a tour; my guides were patient and knowledgable. Everything in the house is time-period, though most is not from the original families. Still, theres some interesting local pieces on display. Cant wait to come back with my family and show off this local history!
I loved the tour, our tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly!! I’ve done this as a field trip with students and with my family and enjoyed it both times!!
Nice and clean. Great prices.
Interesting and educational. Our guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here
The guide was very knowledgeable and patient while we asked questions. The tour was short and to the point. I wish we would have been able to walk through the kitchen and have that as a part of the tour, but the tour a great value for the price.
Great place to visit. Great piece of history.
I love going to Point of Honor for all of their public events. Very well organized.
Beautiful setting for Pride and Prejudice
Beautiful antebellum manor with tours and a museum shop.
Definitely a must see if you are in Lynchburg. Lots of history here and lots to see in the area. The events they hold here are also loads of fun for the entire family
Short tour but interesting!
Awesome place to see. Love history preservation.
Point of honor tells a lot of our citys history on that or was always a landmark. It hosts a lot of local events, has a great bookstore, and can host meetings and parties. The grounds and house are remarkably well preserved, and quite beautiful just to walk around.
Great place to go and learn about Lynchburg rich history and tour a beautiful piece of real-estate
