Its decent just mind your business the City could do more Metro Council person Donna Purvis Pat Attn:or your Assistant Denice Bentley we deserve it!
Beautiful park on the west side: nice walking paths. Great place to play tennis... The clay courts are awesome and well cared for.
This is a beautiful park. My dad taught me how to ride my bike, I learned how to fish here, SWAM in that same swimming pool. Thats the past, Im no saint, HELP. PLEASE. In my view the parks department has squeezed the budget or just said The Hell With THEM
Great weather.....quiet.....fall colors all around...beautiful
It is a beautiful park with a veiw of the river and very peaceful
Its very peaceful early in the day when I go not surr about the weekend evenings a lot of young kids in the past
Lovely and peaceful while listening to good music and having good company from the parkm
Great place to play either hard court or clay court tennis. Gave my daughter a hour and 15 minute tennis lesson on one of their hard courts today.Peaceful, open court availability to any of the six hard or six clay courts.
A great place to walk and enjoy nature!
I am grateful Chickasaw park has been reopened. My daughter and I had a peaceful walk this evening.
Very relaxing and comfortable park.
Peaceful and quiet just a good walking place to go to I love it
My favorite place to hang out with friends and bbq
Pandemic, the parks are open. Needed to exercise by walking the park trail, seeing new updates to the park, feeling the sun and enjoying the ducks at the pond.
This was the only Park Blacks could go to. It is still the Park used the most by Africsn Americans in Louosville today.
Tennis courts are available! Clay and hard courts. No cars allowed. Great walking path.
The new workout equipment is awesome
REAL NICE WORK OUT EQUIPMENT
I hope my fellow Louisville West Enders, especially the brothers and sisters of our beautiful and beloved Chickasaw & Shawnee neighborhoods, where we as children use to run up and down the neighborhood streets, roller skating and flying kites in the spring, riding our bikes all over the neighborhood and to the corner candy and hardware store, that was located across the street to Zegarts Pharmacy, which was located across the street from Clemons Beer Depot and Convenience Store, which was located across the street from Cooks Food Fair and Meat Market. That was years ago, before America lost the last of her innocence. Though those businesses have long closed, the West End is still as beautiful as ever, with her big swing porch houses and well manicured yards. I have been all over the U.S., and there arent many African American neighborhoods like the Louisvilles West End. I hope everyone whos fortunate enough to live in this area of Louisville realizes what a jewel of a park Chickasaw is. I grew up a couple of blocks away from this park, and I have yet to find anything close to it anywhere else. It was designed by a man by the name of Olmsted. The very same man who designed and built Central Park in New York City. Mr. Olmsted also designed and built Shawnee Park, which is located one mile up the road from Chickasaw, and is 10 times bigger than Chickasaw! Another awesome park to hang out in! We are so lucky!
Nice place to take the children and to go to feed the gesse. You can fish as well out of the pond.
Pond was much cleaner than previous years. Lots activities. Good place take family and unwind.
Not a park you would go to unless you had family in the area ..
Nice just need a little cleaning.
Very nice and quiet. Great place to run. Probably should do some light maintenance work on their jogging/running trail.
It is a great park to enjoy your Sundays
Nice, peaceful, lots of shaded areas
I like this park but its not a favorite. I like going to Chickasaw Park in the early morning and when Im there, Ill be so disappointed in how the picnic area is trashed, WHY?
The awesome park!!
One of the best parks in Louisville
This is one of two parks that Louisville does not care about.
I love this park.
I really admire the people who keep tennis courts going with weekly clubs (Tuesdays special) and got past city budget cuts with their interest and work. There are only two clay courts in city, Im told. Dont know where the other is or if it is still open with budget cuts. We dont play. But contributed what we could to help. Not much but It was appreciated. The waterfowl on the pond attract us and others to park, feed and watch. Walking paths for folks including dogs on leashes. Park has some history. Used to be called the little park. (compared to Shawnee). Check out the plaques by North entrance. Wave as you drive through (slowly). It will be returned by regulars. Feel good.
502 W£STERN LOUISVILLE
Takes my babies too this park great vibes nice days people be out just hanging listen too music cooking washing car about anything thats says good vibes
Nice park
I love walking the walking path!!! Its sometimes blocked in one spot and i have to walk in the grass but other than that its a great place to walk!!! I have shed about 100 lbs in this park over the years!!!
Always good. People bowing, playing tennis, basketball and enjoying the sunshine
Phatest park to go to on an pretty Sunday
Great place for family gatherings or just a walk in the park
Love playing tennis at Chickasaw! A local even stopped by to check on us. Dont experience hospitality like this at any other courts in the Ville.
Summer Summer time I love it even though I almost died do to my own stupidity, tried to get down by the river and watch the water flow tripped fell busted the side of my face to the white meat on a tree, there is a GOD.... Cause I was dead... friends came & found me... 3 blood fusion later I a woke!!! Im blessed...
This is the park very close to home. Its very clean and has several playgrounds, pavilions, nice paved walking track, tennis area, and nice beautiful pond to watch nearby birds, ducks, and some other animals too.v
Great park to relax in. Let kids play at the playground. Great tennis courts as well
Brought back childhood memories
The tennis courts are amazing and the bathrooms are clean for a park.
Love it. A beautiful place
The fishing is horrible there. Its almost like fish and wildlife gave up on that place. However it seems like they have some kind of community fair on the weekends which was awesome to see.
Beautiful. Great for thinking....
I grew up in the area of Shawnee Park and Chickasaw Park. I take my grandkids to them both frequently. They /we have a ball. The upgrade in the childrens area is awesome. Were able to relax and have a great time. These parks have been given a bad rep because of ignorance. Which you can and will find anywhere. Dont allow their ignorance to stop you from enjoying yourself with your family. We all know crime does not discreminate. Its everywhere. Its how we respond to it that matters.
Quiet peaceful no gun fire. Nice people.
Nice place to ride through and chill out!
Good family hang out park!!
Very peaceful during business hours. Gets hopping after that.
Everyone off to their self ! no intruders
A park thats pleasant with pretty inspiring sections. I truly enjoy my stopping time relaxing and breathing the comforting air. The breezes are satisfying when cool or warm. A beautiful place for rest stops.
Ive living in this neighborhood for 30 years its like no other place in this state. The wooded area, clean air, and the hospitality of the people are A-1.
We had a great family reunion. The rented space was very nice and we all had a fun time.
Friendly atmosphere
This location is a great slice of the waterfront and has been undergoing recent improvements, but needs help in getting cleaned up.
Great place to have birthday party an family reunions
My go to place, to walk, meditate, just be....
Love this park wish the city would open the tennis courts

My fav place........This one was NOT good. Outerloop was DIRTY paper all over place and all, ALL, all my chicken tenders were LINED WITH GRISSLE!!! Frustrated on ALL U CAN EAT NITE!
We had a wonderful family reunion here. We rented a space and it was a great and memorable day.
Great place to cruise feed the ducks clear your MIND
Great timeGreat atmosphereNo bs
Nice clean friendly and a lot of things to do
The park is undergoing construction
It was peaceful.. Police were patrolling everywhere.
This is the best park in Louisville! The tennis courts are absolutely outstanding, with six clay courts and six hard courts (all for free playing, with lessons throughout the year), the pond is lovely, and it is an overall beautiful place. The park is great for everything!
My favorite place to hang
Needs to be cleaned but peaceful and my go to park
Family fun. Clean got ducks ponds
Right next to the river.
Excellent play area for children. Also the duck pond is interesting. We plan to get bird seed and have grandson feed the ducks.
Clean but needs some road work
There really isnt much going on here. I at least wish there were more access to the river. A lot less trees would create a lot more scenic view down by the river.
Great park to relax at..
Just riding through
This car line is to much and to long !
Great place for family and friends to hang out and enjoy each other.
Perfect place for our family Reunion
Had fun with family at the park. However, they need soap in the rest rooms. Restrooms need an. upgrade.
Nice place to walk your dog.
A family park with lots to do
Love it.layed.back page to relax
Beautiful paved walking/ runnig trail, easiy to count miles, but on rainy days the trail become flooded in a couple of areas, which at times can be avoided by walking in the grass.
This is the prettiest park that Louisville Kentucky has to offer but its not I dont want to say the word safe.sorry
It was very hot down there yesterday.
Pleasing, with renovations/improvements on the way!
