0 out of 5 stars. Because we were misguided by the park employee while trying to go to the Hollywood sign. The trail she told us to take did not bring us anywhere near the Hollywood sign and we wasted an 3 1/2 hours of our life hiking over this entire trail and didnt make it to the Hollywood sign because parking was $15 an hour and our time would had expired by the time we reached the Hollywood sign.
At night time you can see deer, just dont get too close or you will scare them away. In general the city skyline is beautiful at night from here.
This has been on my Bay Area bucket list for a long time and I am so happy to have finally made it! The views were stunning, the trails wide, and most of it was even stroller-friendly (although it isnt paved, so an umbrella stroller would be tricky). My boys loved exploring the Sutro Bath ruins and the gift shop in the visitors center, and three generations were all smiles the whole time. We all loved our hike, and I only wish I lived closer so I could adopt it as my running trail!
Great trails, plenty of parking, but these trails (while comparatively easy) are not suitable for those with mobility issues. There are inclines and steps almost everywhere. Very scenic views but there are some dangerous areas where people go off the trail.
Great place for a Hike. The trail is clean and well kept. There are some easy routes or you can challenge yourself on some off path trails. We saw plenty of people of all ages and families. Bring water as there are no services on the trail.
Great walking trail for all the desert terrain (from an Atlanta native, it is cool to see). The views are also great. Be sure to bring water with you if you are going to be there a while.I went there to see the Hollywood sign, but it wasnt clear the best way to go when you get there for that. Maybe this wasnt the best place to go for that, but that is where Google Maps took me. It would nice to have a Hollywood sign this way sign :-)I enjoyed the walk though!
Its probably best to check the weather before you head over here because a little fog can make the visibility disappointing. I got lucky with a clear sunny day and a beautiful view of the Golden Gate bridge! This is definitely a place I would take visitors to see the beauty of the bay area.
Easy to hike. There are several trails that split to make it longer or shorter. Small trail at the bottom of the park thats handicap accessible. Bring your snacks to have a picnic at the bottom with friends or family or just enjoy a nice walk/run/hike trough the canyon trails.
Very popular placeParking was full we parked on st..Place needs some take care
Son wanted to see the HOLLYWOOD SIGN, so here we go. Very busy even at 5am, lots of walkers, wildlife (coyote) but definitely worth the what seemed like 20 miles up a huge mountain. People are friendly (even with this virus) we had to ask a few times if we were going the right direction. Its definitely a must go
Great place to go see the Hollywood Sign. Wish I had more time to do the trails
Fabulous place, great view, looks to absorb in one trip that will leave you in awe.
I dont know where I was the night before, but I definitely remember walking off muni at civic center, heading towards my apartment.... when I noticed something was fishy (both in sight and smell).
Some of the best views of LA. A bit pricey at $15/hr for parking. But worth it.
Definitely take your mask. Signs all over the park and its just social courtesy. Water is needed due to the current temperatures if possible carpool.
I had the best experience at the Griffith observatory under the Hollywood hills.
Nice place but never seen a place like this run out of pancakes.
Beautiful views! The Hollywood sign is actually 4 miles out
Great over look of part of los angeles
Great view, very short hike (steep though).
Moderately difficult, can get really hot. Bring enough water and enjoy the views!
Amazing place to hike, you will not regret this hike no matter the trail you select, just make sure you know which trail to select. You can head to the Hollywood sign, or head to Dantes view. on a clear sky day you can see all the way to Long Beach and the Valley. For parking, you can park near the Greek theatre and walk till you start the hike or take the bus to the start of the trail.
Parking is free until 10am. Enjoy this amazing hike!
Great place to go hiking
The parking is somehow confusing. The machines doesnt work correctly.
Great place to go walking, hiking or to walk your dogs. Beautiful scenery going up to the Griffith observatory. If you are planning to park close to the observatory entrance be prepare to pay 10 dollars an hour for parking. If you park close to the Greek theater parking is free. Other than that it is an awesome place
Great view of the city and the Hollywood sign
Beautiful view. Definitely worth checking out.
Wonderful trail for hiking. Lots to offer people whether an avid hiker or just out for a stroll. Amazing views definitely worth coming here and watching the sunset.
If you plan to go there in the morning get there early. The trail gets pretty busy. And the parking is free before 10:00 a.m.
Loved it up here around sunset
I came here a while ago with a group in school it was really fun. I died but it was worth it! The sights are beautiful.
Enjoy a good walk.
We make our own trails
Nice place to view the city
Best trails to burn fat
Beautiful historical walk
A great hiking track with very nice views
Uh this is not the Hollywood Sign. The Billionaires who live on Mulholland drive near Mt. Lee Dr have influenced google to send you to Griffith Park instead. Oopsie daisy!
Best place to jog
Best place to visit in Los Angeles trip... beautiful sunset.. Hollywood sign view and downtown view...try to go like around at 4pm so you can stay bit late and enjoy the night view as well...must visit place.
The views are immaculate!
Very good experience.
Nice place beautiful views
Beautiful views
The hiking up near Giffith is honestly better than the museum. The trails are really extensive and capture some of the most iconic scenery of the LA area.

A nice place if you love to walk
Parking is very difficult. But as a visitor loved the view.
Great views
Great place to hike! Beautiful vistas.
Great place to hike, walk or run with spectacular views!
Technically this is a trailhead. It serves that purpose well enough. Big parking lot (come very early for a spot), drinking fountain, trail map. The trails themselves are incredible and cover dozens of car free miles with varied terrain and unbeatable views in all directions.
Tiring day!
Used to be free parking before Lalaland
Nice
Perfect place for a family hike, team building, run or to just get away from all the LA BS.
Beautiful
Love Griffith Park
Amazing scene, I cant wait to return.
