Happy they are open! Everything looks spaced out and they enforce masks when you walk around which is good. This is just my OCD, but I feel like the bartender is handling money or credit cards and then touches garnishes, lemons, and cherries with his hands and it just grosses me out. Lol so thats probably just my 2 cents.Other than that, its pretty chill and the drinks are decent.I miss it here for sure. So I am happen that they are open.
Got a spark to get out of the house. Drive up to Hollywood looking for whats good? Parked and found this place. I didnt want to hit a spot that was packed, worked out great. Walked into an upbeat atmosphere. Which heightened my experience. The decor is unique which is great. Grabbed a few makers and cokes. Couldnt help but try the mac. Definitely a fill! Drinks were good! As I say with a pleasant smile. Interesting in seeing it when covid is over
This is a good place to go to when you feel like dancing to some hip hop music. I went on a Saturday night and its definitely more like a club. It was super packed and a little ratchet, nothing wrong with that. The music was good. The bar was pretty difficult to get to because of all the people, but I would come again with a group of friends to dance.
They turned the outside patio into a cool lounge with couches on the stage. Great food, plus 2-for-1 drinks on Tuesdays!
Cute date spot. Good food and the blood orange cider is yummy
Always a great time in this place. Not only is it featured in several series and movies, but you always find yourself having a great time in this place. People tend to be friendly and give you your space. This place has a nice retro vibe that allows for a chill time.I can’t wait to return and knock back
This was the first stop in Hollywood walk of stars. It turned out we should have stayed there for another hour or so. The prices were good and the beer was great. Place was packed and happening.
Small, divey, old, punk, and rock. One of the best dive bars in my opinion in Hollywood, where bartenders can be themselves which is always great. Great spot to start the night, end the night, or both, jukebox as well, stiff drinks, and everything you expect at a dive bar.
I love the BarBack KENNY! He is a super great host
I really enjoyed this place. I had been there once before but couldnt remember the name. This time someone recommended it and I was glad to see it was the place I had been before!
On a train trip to Hollywood we stopped by this tiny bar by the Pantages Theater. Had a couple of great Old Fashioneds and chatted with a few regulars while watching some football on TV. Fun place to have a drink while visiting Hollywood. Next time we are in Hollywood we will stop by again!
Love this bar! Can’t wait to return and knock back a few.. had one of the best nights of my life here. Amazing!
One of my favorite spots in the City. Fun, lively, excellent selection of beers, great music (especially when Ao is sharing his playlist), and amazing and knowledgeable staff keeping the beer flowing.
Awesome little bar in Hollywood right by the Pantages Theatre. There is a big neon sign out front so you cant miss it.Unlike some of the other bars nearby it was very easy to hang out here. Some of the Hollywood dive bars are so dark and loud it is hard to have a conversation, but the Frolic Room was just the right amount of brightness and loudness. We showed up aro
Awesomeness place. To hangout with friends.
A dimly lit divey kind of bar with a local feel. It feels like the ghosts of Hollywood stars keep the place buzzing in a good way. The bar service isnt bad, but can get kind of slow. The food is actually good and the happy hour is one of the best in Hollywood. With $5 bites, you can legit try and share everything! The portions are enough to share or can be enjoyed solo. I suggest Sharing so you can have a variety.Things to try:chicken strips (come with fries, bonus!)RibsNachos (Sorry, I ate them before I could get a pic)The bar selection is really nice too! Lots of whiskey and tequila brands. They also sell champs by the glass, but it isnt that great.
A great bar in Hollywood! I have been here several times, and so far, I had quite positive experiences. The drinks are fairly priced, although on the expensive side. Still, since it is Hollywood, I can understand why it is done. Of course, they have my favorite shots of Fireball Whiskey. Still, without Fireball, I would recommend to taste some of their cocktails They are quite delicious. Definitely, bring a lot of cash, since it is not cheap. However, from my experience, it was quite worth it, to spend that cash!
We need more places like Boardners by La Belle. I love board games and have visited the board game cafe in Glendale. What Boardners by La Belle has over the one in Glendale is alcohol. Its super nice to be able to sip on a beer while you play board games. The servers are perfectly attentive and are also helpful when picking out a game.
Always a great time in this place. Not only is it featured in several series and movies, but you always find yourself having a great time in this place. People tend to be friendly and give you your space. This place has a nice retro vibe that allows for a chill time. Totally recommend!
Open patio, lights on trees, great food, great bartenders.Whats not to like
Awesome place...great place for the best cocktail and food with ambience. I would recommend this to everyone who visits Hollywood walk of Fame!!... I would say the best cocktails I had in LA.
The perfect Hollywood local haunt serving stiff drinks by friendly bartenders who keep it flowing. Great spot to meet locals mingle with industry people or just get together with old friends. Highly recommended
Classic Hollywood Joint. Always delivers. Excellent ambiance.
Old school Hollywood bar and eatery. Food was surprisingly good. Bring a flashlight.
I have always had good experience. One of the bartenders George passed away about two years ago. We miss him very much. George had a lot of love in his heart for his customers. We will always be missed and we will love him forever. Hes in a better place now. God bless him.
Great place, old hollywood style, dark, red, just missing the smoke.Perfect set for a movie or for an alternative date.Strong cocktails.
Best bar in LA. Period. Been here a quarter of a century. Seriously. Just go there Johnny is the best bar back they ever had and Trevor is really tall. You have to go. The only one that matters. Look at all of my reviews. I dont say these kind of things. Go.
Love the history of the bar. Every star in Hollywood has walked through the doors. However the staff was not to engaging and we got up and walked to the bar for stuff with our meal as no one would check on us after serving us our food
Severely disappointed with the space and entertainment provided for the night. Its very possible I went on an off night, because Ive heard decent things about this place, so I am open to going again. However, the experience I had was very lackluster. The crowd / company does not play a factor in my review.Off the bat, upon entry, she said it was $20, and after giving my credit card, I was signing for ~$23. I get it, credit card fee, but you need to mention that. Anyway its unnecessary because it was through Square. The main dance floor was so packed you couldnt even move, and the sound system was terrible. The secondary one had some room to move around and the music was better, but the sound system was even worse.I did like the second floor by the main stage, it had decent couches and space to relax. Every time I wanted to sit, I was able to grab a seat with me and my buddy, which was nice. Also, I met some girls, one of whom lost her wallet. After frantically asking around at the bar, it managed to turn up a couple minutes later, with everything intact. So that was nice. Yeah the bartender was a bit jerky at first too, although she seemed happy when she received it and was able to give it to us.It wasnt the night that was bad, really just the venue. I went on College Fridays, but Ive heard great things about Bar Sinister.Hoping thatll be better!
This place is amazing! I always have a great time and John is awesome, he always make you feel welcome. Also two thumbs up for the cook. This by far the best bar in Hollywood.
One of my all time favorite bars! My boss Billy Burke introduced me o the place an since then I have just made it a stomping ground! Great people, happy hour, food, environment, and patio in the back with a stage be somtines events and intertainment!! Xoxox love you Boarders NEVER CHANGE!!
A very old bar. Nice ambience. The drink selection is very limited and not that good though
Great place to meet very nice people!
Always a good time. Reccommend this sleek dive for a nice beer/shot special and appetizer after work if youre in the area.
Ive been coming to this bar well since the late 80s and still visit every now and again. Its a cozy spot to have a drink or two or three....crowd is pretty mixed, nice vibe, cool deco decor. Just left of the entrance ( if you were walking in) is the entrance to the club side which has different clubs different nights of the week (Bar Sinister and Blue Mondays are / were awesome). Its a chill place with lots of history.
Great place for after work drinks with a really big patio out back that allows smoking. Nice and dark inside. John is a super nice bartender and the kitchen consistently serves up the most perfectly fried tater tots you can imagine.
This is an amazing, beautiful venue, and it has 2 big rooms. Loved it!
Supper nice setting and very nice old fashion with super bar man treatment
Happy hours drinks was great. Amazing Atmosphere. Everything was Well organised. Great drinks selection.
The perfect Hollywood local haunt serving stiff drinks by friendly bartenders who keep it flowing. Great spot to meet locals mingle with industry people or just get together with old friends. Highly recommended!
Dimly lit Hollywood haunt. Good drink prices and pretty decent food. Eclectic crowd.
One of the best bars in Hollywood. Charm character and great cocktails
Goth night, Goth night, Goth night!!! Sunday! Monday! Unhappy Days! Tuesday! Wednesday! Unhappy Days! Thursday! Friday! Unhappy Days! Saturday! A fetish day! Unhappy means happy when youre goth its true!
Awesome place...great place for the best cocktail and food with ambience. I would recommend this to everyone who visits Hollywood walk of Fame!!... I would say the best cocktails I had in LA.
Good dranks solid food -- cheaper bites during happy hour
A cinematic space with a bar staff that was incredibly friendly. grab a booth and chill.
Dark, sexy. Great happy hour till 8pm
It was a great place cant lie it reminded me time back hkme.
The great place customer service is good that mac and cheese and Fries were great one of the oldest spots in Hollywood its a little dark. If you like that
Best bar in LA hands/beers down. Classic LA real bar. Great staff and atmosphere . Youll actually have a blast here, not just spend money and go home tipsy. The club next door on Saturdays, Bar Sinister, is well... Just that. Check them both out. Youll be glad you did.
The perfect Hollywood local haunt serving stiff drinks by friendly bartenders who keep it flowing. Great spot to meet locals mingle with industry people or just get together with old friends. Highly recommended!

Nice vibe but the impossible burger is NOT the real thing. I think its the beyond burger which I hate but a friend likes it so I gave it to him.
Great spirits, food, music and staff is so friendly!!Always a great time
This bar is very inviting our bar tender was awesome! I will be coming here again. Its different, but a fun different vibe. I love they have pin ball machines takes me way back. The drinks were on point and cheap I have nothing but good things to say about this place.
Great bar that is located in Hollywood! I only have been here once, and it was at the beginning of 2016. Still, from what I remember, it was a good bar with a variety of cocktails and drinks to choose from! Of course, some of the drinks were expensive, but you can understand for it is in Hollywood. So, if you do not regret to spend some cash on drinks, definitely visit this spot! It is quite worth place to visit in Hollywood!
Always an interesting venue whatever event takes place!
Venue is a great spot for all ages 21+ and up. Securities are friendly and helpful, venue is cash only for the entrance. Beer and liquor ate fair price, dance floor are spacious and music is great. Dress code chill or encouraged to wear your best gear if your feeling flashy!!
Great drinks and chill atmosphere. Would definitely go again
The best damn nachos and chicken tacos in Hollywood. HUGE portions and exceptional cocktails and customer service. Definitely recommend this place
This is my wifes favorite bar in Hollywood. It has a good old Hollywood vibe. It has a great extended happy hour and the best Mac n Cheese around. There other food items on the happy hour menu are also tasty. They have strong mixed drinks and a few but good beer selections on their happy hour menu.
Great atmosphere, Great bartenders, Great events. Nuff said
Amazing atmosphere, good music, go here often and love it, sometimes its a little too crowded but generally a great place
I love the outdoor stage, you can smoke and enjoy the music.
I go here for Blue Mondays which is a club night! the staff is friendly and attentive and also the music is awesome. They have 2 rooms to party in.
Never seen the line wrap around the block and down the street before. I guess word really got out. Suggest to get there early. Youre lucky if you find street parking. Occassoonally theres a valet at the end of cherokee if youre willing to pay. The venue is great. The dont call it the Vampires den for nothing. Awesome on old school hip hop night on the patio. Great spot for 80s on a Monday Night
Theyve got alot of space compared to your typical dive bar. Good selection of beers and liquor. A full size pool table. Food in the back with a back patio. Usually a pretty good crowd in here on the weekends. Not completely packed so you cant get a drink, but enough people around for a fun atmosphere.
Cuz your mom loves it.
The perfect Hollywood local haunt serving stiff drinks by friendly bartenders who keep it flowing. Great spot to meet locals mingle with industry people or just get together with old friends. Highly recommended!
Was there just once but the place was clean, chill, and fun. Stopped by after a show at the Hollywood Bowl. I want to call it a dive but it was way to classy for that label. It reminded me of nice old school version of my favorite dive bar in San Diego but dialed in
Love this place but I called to asked what price they say $10 and when I got there the lady said it was $12?? I tell her I called and they said it was $10 and she says all rude back its $12
Classic bar, great atmosphere, Sunday all day Happy Hour is $4 for beer, well drinks and appetizers, yay! Parking is a problem, sadly.
So glad this venue has opened its hearts and its doors to my friends/family to play their hearts out and pair them with folks I havent heard before. The staff has been excellent and for Hollywood its well priced, especially if youre polite ;)(they dont overpour but they dont skimp either), bring a smile, tip your bartenders and be ready to dance!!
Love this place. Happy hour all day Sunday
Had fun. Great music
I love this place. Awesome music. Good vibes. Definitely recommend.
Old school Hollywood bar. Vintage feel, dark and chill. Nice back patio.
Neat theme. The thots dont talk enough tho.

Very nice vibe, great service and dope, old school music! Happy big family! John, the bartender, is an awesome! Join the fun!
Best 2 for 1 drinks on Tuesday in Hollywood.
Came down to Boarders for food before attending the connected nightclub, Bar Sinister which I have attended for many years. I had never eaten there before and didnt necessarily expect anything exceptional, so was really surprised by the spectacular quality if the food I enjoyed there!!! I ordered the cod fish tacos & was utterly blown away by how good they were!!! They may have been the best fish tacos I have eaten anywhere!!! They came with a cilantro salsa and, with an additional light dousing of the hot sauce that was presented by my bar tender, I quickly found myself in a state if sublime, culinary bliss!!! Just wonderful!!! From this point forward, when I plan on coming to Bar Sinister, I will make a point of planning to have dinner here before attending the club whenever possible!!!
Good strong drinks, nice ambiance, friendly bartender. Definitly worth checking out if youre in Hollywood.
This is my favorite bar in LA. The bartenders are super grounded and friendly. In my opinion they have one of the beat happy hours.
Step back in time to old Hollywood. Great selection of booze and beers. Best burgers in Hollywood. Friendly staff and crowd. They make one of the best Mac and cheese dishes Ive ever had (insider tip: order it with peas and jalapenos).
Nice staff, especially for Hollywood. Fun night of dancing!
Really nice place to hang out for drinks. Mondays on the club right next door is so much fun for 80s night people. Definitely reccomend it for party people
Trendy, Cool, Welcoming .....KCRW nite(s) wouldnt hurt
Top recommendation for the happy hour food menu.
If youre in the area, its one of the better options.
Good food, good drinks ... link to old Hollywood, Robert Mitchum old hang out.
Great place for after work drinks with a really big patio out back that allows smoking. Nice and dark inside. John is a super nice bartender and the kitchen consistently serves up the most perfectly fried tater tots you can imagine.
One of the old great Hollywood bars. A lot of bars have come and gone in this city. Boardners has survived the test of time. Since the remodel its now very dark. It feels bit like Vegas dive bar with its neon lights. Only one cheap sweet vermouth. You will NOT get a craft cocktail there.
Local bar that used to be a dive, now a much nicer place. Great place immediately off the boulevard for a quieter drink than some of the sports bars and other nearby loud, raucous bars. Theres no tap beer here, but they do have various happy hours throughout the week.
