I have only had one experience at Bootie so far, but I literally danced to some amazing mash-ups for about 5 hours straight. When it was all over, I was asking for more! The main floor is where the big party is. If you really want to cut a rug, I would suggest dancing on the stage at the front of the dance floor. Conversely, you could dance at your own pace down on the main floor. Either are good!

Up and coming Club with a mix of a young and older crowd. The bartenders are great and attentive as well as the rest of the Staff. Super engaging atmosphere. Dance floor can get a bit crowded. Layout of the club is inviting and cozy.

I seldomly go to nightclubs with my friends, but this one made me feel comfortable and safe. They also have affordable drinks and food to offer.

We used this place for our event and it was fantastic. Beautiful place with three bars downstairs. Beer is fairly expensive here so keep that in mind when ordering for yourself and others. The interior is fantastic with comfortable seating in the back and an excellent stage area. It was just perfect for our event.

I was in LA, on a first date. He saw the sign in the window that said Cajun food: his favorite. I was hesitant, but wanted to seem more adventurous than I am so I agreed. The door was dingy and I couldnt see through the heavily tinted windows. I assumed it would be a little shop with a couple tables and chairs, kinda like a deli. What I stepped into was another world. The front door opens up to an opulent bar. The most beautiful bar I have ever been in. It looks like a movie set. Then past the bar there is a long winding hallway that leads to the restaurant.

This place was SO MUCH FUN. At first I wasnt sure about the mash-ups but once I got used to it I fell in love. This place does need better ventilation though considering they pack in a billion people who end up sweating balls for hours on end. I wasnt too sure about the burlesque show that went on the night I was there. I am all for a good show and as a straight women I can really appreciate a girl that has the guts to go up on stage and show her goodies and bits but it just felt really low class and creepy. I watched for a few minutes and then it became painful so I ventured into the top room where there was more electronic music playing and many cool people to dance around with. I would definitely come back to Bootie next time I am in SF!

Ive come here for a number of occasions and the atmosphere is always fun. Their food menu is good and everything is super tasty. Its pretty hard to find GOOD Cajun food in LA and this place is definitely number one in my book. I love the variety and their small spins on certain dishes.

No need to impress anyone here! As I recall, when I came here in September I was makeup-less and wearing an ill-fitting sweater. I had the best time ever. Just enjoy the mash-up music, have fun and dance any way you want, and act a fool!

My friends and I had a great time at this club. It was Sunday evening when we decided to go to this club. We got fascinated by the beautiful crowd of people who go wild dancing on the dance floor. We like the drinks that they served the margarita was not too watery and not too strong as well. Also, the drinks were not too expensive. The DJ was so handsome. He plays a good variety of music. We will surely visit this place again.

We have been there a few times with friends and family and have loved the ambiance and the selection of wine here. They have an amazing selection for wines by the glass and by the bottle.

When I first walked in, I thought it was the front bar... but a hallway leads you back into a room that gives a NoLa ambiance! Had a few beers while waiting for my lunch special of blackened shrimp po boy. The sandwich was good, the bread light and fluffy with a good helping of shrimp on there. The side salad was very good as well.Overall really enjoyed the food, drinks, service, and ambiance here and would stop in again.

First time at this venue and was kind of surprise about it because Im use to just go there after the nightclubs close and what can it be? 6 years ago since I visit that place and funny thing is first time I was sober and went there haha.However, fast to getting in and the service and bar wasnt bad.Only reason I went here was because it was my friends birthday and it was live band we checked it out.The drink was average price like most of the venues so nothing to complain about accept a great time! So you looking for chill place on a monday this is place to go but not to bring a date

Interesting experience! The live band was entertaining for sure. Then there were moments of pure ecstasy upstairs with the top floor DJ, Beastie Boys vs. Gnarls Barkely and Missy Elliot vs. Blondie.The mood upstairs was quite, um, intoxicating. After the live band played though, downstairs on the main floor got a little less fun. Stuff like Livin On a Prayer vs. Stand By Me just wasnt danceable to me. But overall I liked it - dont get me wrong!

If you are looking for great music, great looking people and an awesome place to dance in the bay area -this is the place for you.

I adore this place! This is officially my favorite club in SF! The music is great and so is the crowd. The different dance floors are awesome and provide variety and change of scenery all in one place! The themed nights are great too! We spent last new years here and we all had a blast! Also, having an amazing pizza place attached is perfect for when you need a mid partying snack. I also love that they give out mixed CDs to the first 100 people. There is a stack of Bootie CDs in our car at all times. I HIGHLY recommend this club!

Bootie: mashups and drunk people. i like the guy with the bunny ears (youll see him soon enough if you go). mashup is like metallica versus estelle: better than you think. i like mashups because most of the songs by themselves are tepid and hackneyed, but improve with heavy bass, alcohol, and drunken friends to dance with. i especially like the barmaid at the absynthe bar, and the crowd is fun. bootie is a perfect term because it evokes images of buzzed pirates dirty dancing shaking their well-formed butts, which is a good starting place to explain the joy that is bootie sf. 2nd and 4th saturday, goes til 3. dont wear clothes you mind getting a little sweaty.

I’m a regular here, and for good reason.The staff is caring and considerate.I’ve seen people really lose themselves inside and instead of calling the police or an ambulance they take time to allow the party goer to collect themselves.I’ve worked as a bouncer before and I must say that this practice goes above and beyond expectations.Trust me when I say that it is a safe place to let loose.It is definitely my preferred night-out venue.After the main club closes at 2, BARDOT opens upstairs and allows you to continue partying until 6am. There are not many establishments set up in this manor which makes this club a gem.I highly recommend.

Has after hours thats why its so expensive. One of the few after hours thats advertised (for obvious reasons) and SO many men. The ratio is all off. Im a woman and arrived around 2am on a Saturday. Huge line. Crazy cover fee. And was approached by several men immediately I had to say Im sorry Im just trying to dance and enjoy the music with my friends and they were relentless. Just a grimey feeling despite the beautiful venue! This place is not worth it at all for after hours I bet during regular hours the place is great. Ive been to way more inviting and peaceful underground after hours and this was men being pushy and the drinks were weak to boot

Cool place to hang out and have a drink. The bar is connected to the Avalon so can get crowded when there is an event. A few different rooms with comfortable seating and friendly staff.

This place was great! One of my vocal students performed there for an event called School Night and I was backstage warming him up. Security was good, the sound system was good, and the crowd was lots of fun! I will definitely recommend this place as a venue for more of my students to perform! ️

Pretty cool venue. Nice size theater. Not too big not too small. My one gripe would be small food selection and I got VIP which was nice and rope and seats but was further back. I think I was expecting the best view in the house. All in all great venue with a great staff.The event I went for was a Bon Scott tribute. Dean Delray, Marc maron and bill burr did stand up comedy then they play Ac/dc songs. One the funnest and funniest nights I’ve had in recent memory. Although I’ve been told this venue tends to host more DJ and club type events.

Well, this one is definitely my favorite nightclub in LA. (I feel like I should mention from the very beginning, that I live in SF, and my clubbing standards are high. When in SF, make sure to check out Audio, Halcyon, 1015 Folsom, and The Midway (at least!). Now, to be honest with you, LA’s dance scene seems quite poor to me. And nevertheless...) I guess that practically all major EDM events take place here. The sound system is outstanding, and the space itself is very, very nice. If you’re really into electronic music and looking for a decent nightclub in LA, check out this one first. Also, you might find Sound on Las Palmas Ave somewhat cool, too. Both are worth visiting, and if we’re talking sound quality, you’ll enjoy them equally. However, I can say that the most interesting DJs would normally play at Avalon. Anyway, tastes differ (I’m all about progressive, minimal techno, and psytrance) so try out these two and decide for yourself... Okay, this is the most extensive review I’ve written so far so let’s wrap it up here. When I travel around the world and have just a few nights in one city, I have to rely on other people’s recommendations and reviews online, that’s why I’m so eager to help you make the right choice and be in the right place at the right time. Now, once you’ve checked out these two nightclubs, I’m pretty sure that you’ll become a regular either at Avalon or Sound. Have a GREAT night out!!!

Great venue. Clean, beautiful interior. Amazing sound and lighting system. No troubles at the door to get in, and a very liberal dresscode. Crowd is relaxed and friendly. Very close to the metro as well, which is a bonus. Looking forward to going back for more shows.

Unprofessional doorman. I understand he has a job to do. But at least have a little people skills, as your one of the main job functions is to speak with people. Excellent venue for seeing bands. Very unique setup for viewing the band from all sides. The sound system always sounds so damn good here too which is huge and something I dont take for granted anymore. Theres an easy to reach bar right behind the stage and several bars. Usually a DJ in adjacent area. School Nights on Monday night have some pretty amazing bands playing for free.I think this is one of LAs best smaller venues.

Honestly I think its my favorite club in Hollywood/la. Decent size, plenty of bars and an awesome aesthetic. Used to be an opera hour or a play house which gives it a very unique vibe. Sound system is also great but you have to be dead center of the dance floor which can suck if its too crowded but hard to have perfect sound everywhere so thats that. Beyond that the acts make the club, I enjoy the booking but thats all personal opinion

This is such a cool historic building! They used to host the Oscars here and they have pictures all over showing off the history. I was able to walk around and enjoy the fact that Jerry Lewis and Lucille Ball and the Rat Pack all partied here!

I was fun on New Years!$100 bucks entry was a little weird but it was the start of a new year.Coat check was available, that was very convenient. The Vibe was approachable and light hearted. I would never go again but I won’t ever forget it.

Wow, what a place for music and dancing with my beautiful soulmate all night. I was blown away by a power greater than Bela Lugosi as Draculas nightforce. By the end of the night, not only was I clapping! But my balls were clapping as well!! Will be back asap when our baby sitter is available.

AVOID. I would give it zero stars if possible. The security guys were very rude when we arrived. They were extremely racist and actually were very close to legit physical harassment. Mind you I had been there for 20 seconds. One white guy tells me that he needs me standing in a line on the other side and I just stopped for 10 seconds to look at my phone so I can call my friends and another white man comes attacking me from behind and touching me to tell me to move. I would totally complain and do a lot more but they are not worth my time any more than this review.

It is a nice nightclub, I have been here once in 2016. From what I remember, the ambiance was quite friendly. There were plenty of space to sit down and enjoy the drink. Interesting place. Super weird vibe, some sketchy looking individuals but still a fun night. Drinks slightly overpriced but the sound and visual system is top notch. Lots of open shenanigans going on but the staff was really cool

DJ Ruff is the best. He brings Amsterdam and Ibiza to you in LA under one roof. I feel privileged as a dancer to enjoy such an amazing artist and world renowned producer. Not to meantion Avalons longest resident DJ. Its always history in the making!

This place is ok. Saw to many fights break out and drunk people. Theres really no dress code and they DO NOT CHECK PEOPLE AT THE DOOR. Didnt really feel comfortable. I give it 3 stars only because the DJs I went to see were awesome.

Regardless of the place. The staff there is very unprofessional. One if the wanna be security girls. Twisted my left wrist because I refuse to listen to her demands of Drinking the water . This happen 11/30. . Having her escorted me out after I pored the water on her for her lack of treatment. Discrimination is what I felt and will sue for this . Whatever her name was . All I recall were those glasses that made her stand out . Should not have ppl like this working gm there . I went to the Avalon during my west coast road trip. I called ahead to request bottle service and bottles were not overly expensive. It was definitely reasonable compared to other clubs. I received great service from management and staff. Since I was alone on my road trip, the staff and management tried their best to make me feel comfortable. I also met an aspiring actress here. Lol

Pretty dope venue, great sound systems and lighting. Went to an event here and had a blast despite the time restriction. Turns into a bumpin nightclub after 10(?) that is pretty cool.

What an incredible venue for a concert. We specifically came up from San Diego to see one of our favorite artists perform here and we werent disappointed.Tip - If you dont mind standing, try to get up on the second level next to the sound booth. You wont have anyone blocking your view of the stage and will have a little more breathing room than if you were down on the first floor trying to get to the very front.The couches are also a really nice touch. Good to take a break on but not obtrusive in anyway.

Ive been here twice in the past. Its fun with freinds. Cover fee was like $20 and the outside line has a wait. Check online deals for discounted admission tickets. Just come before 12 midnight. Its open until like 5 am but they stop to sell alcoholic drinks at 2 am.The venue is very big. The big room on 1st floor has the main DJ and lights and people dancing. They also have a few rooms upstairs with an smoking lounge. DJ music. The crowd is diverse, some young teens and older adults, couples. The vibe overall is good.

My friends and I had our phones stolen out of our purses at this venue during their Gasolina event 12/27/19 and we overheard many other people saying the same thing. Regrettably, I will not be coming back to this venue because of the lack of safety and security. I’ll miss the Gasolina nights but it’s not worth having to replace my phone again.

I cant think of a cooler more intimate place to see a performance! On top of that the ambiance is spectacular. I would recommend checking it out whenever you can, but especially on Monday nights for School Night!

I love this place I been here so many times for private events and parties and it’s always wonderful staff is amazing sometimes the bartenders don’t understand English but it’s all good.

Infected Mushroom xmas eve. Awesome show. Huge club. Great sound. Very strange crowd. Eighty percent Chinese. Kind of a reverse take on the Jewish Christmas tradition (more so because IM are Israeli). We were in a nich by stage right. There was a garbage can behind the proscenium. Chinese girls kept going there to throw up. Old drunk Chinese guys kept trying to break into clumps of young dancing Chinese girls to dance with them. Kind of creepy. Lots of smoking in the VIP lounges next to the dance floor. Anyway, had a great time and would go back again.

Avalon Hollywood is such a unique experience to the saturation of venues here in Hollywood. The Palace as its former name is the longest standing theater venue here and what wonders does it provide. From special events, to nightlife its always a extravagant experience. Fast lines, professional environment, concert lighting and a sound system that provides 360 coverage of the its environment is just one of the few wonders here in Los, Angeles CA. Looking forward to whats to come from the Avalon Team and its experiences it provides.

This my second time coming and let me say its fun and all. But my two friends got really sick from drinking an adios. This happened to me a year ago and just from me witnessing my friends getting sick happening to them worried me. We will not be coming here again. Its a good club but I dont know whats going on with there drinks.

Great night club for people loving electronic music.

Avalon has a solid sound system, unique ambiance, and a lot of history behind it! The vibes/crowd is great and the venue is just beautiful. Ive been coming for about a decade and it is definitely an integral part of LA.

This was a fun place to go where everyone in a group could likely find a place to enjoy themselves. With 3 different dance areas with different music, you could choose what looked most fun. Multiple different bars, seating areas and more. They played good music and had a fun atmosphere. The cover was $12 when I went, but I would recommend a visit!

My “go to” when I feel like wilding out on the dance floor.. always has epic artists playing and the ambiance is super vibey... 5 stars all the way! Will definitely be back for some more grooving.

It was my first time going to this bar/dance club. It was kinda cool for the music it was retro and fun. The drinks were far expensive I got two rum and cokes the bartender gave us two small cups made the drinks then said that would be 20 buck. Well I am only going for the music not for drinks or food.

The waiters are bad like no joke bad and this was teen night so its crazy because they make money of the drinks they sell. My debit card had so many transactions because they double charged and one even had a horrible attitude. The manager is really cool do but the waiters rob you sorry to say. I love this place but iam going to have to drink before going now.

$20 entry fee and it wasnt that greatDJs were good but last call at 1:15 after paying that much...would recommend other places

Gorgeous Art Deco inspired venue, pristine restrooms. Air conditioning is a bit cold.

I was here for a friend. Her brother had his 19 yr old birthday party here. Its an 18+ nightclub. The music is great. The drinks are heavy handed and pricey. But all in all it wasnt a bad experience. If Im gonna go to an 18+ club Id rather check out something else though. Or not even venture that way.

Nice place, good entertainment the day and night we went. Easy parking. Right next door to the Avalon Hollywood. Good location. Hope to come back soon!

I read the negative reviews and there completely lying. I’ve been to this place so many times. I’m so happy with Avalon and everything they do. I’m always coming back for more and more. Avalon is heaven if your looking for it.

Well have you looked at the pictures and duh its Hollywood for starters California number 2 number three but actually most importantly yes I was there for the weed tube launch party and what an amazing night that was in people that I got to meet

Probably my favorite club in LA. The main stage is wide and roomy, they have multiple stages, the staff is courteous, drinks are reasonably priced, and they have a cool smoking room patio(when they actually open it). They also open another room and bar upstairs that doesn’t close till 7am! There’s a really cool promoter that works named Nik. They are what other nightclubs should strive to be.
