This is a wonderful venue to catch a concert in the summertime. We saw Idina Menzel here. Lots of people were wearing witch’s hats (because she starred in Wicked). It was fun.
This place was chill. Didnt have to wait long for a Friday night and the price was decent. $11/hr. Only thing that bugged me was the music people were selecting, just wasnt feeling it. Other than that this is a good spot to kill some time.
Greek Theater is as beautiful as it is ...... despite is closed :)
We really enjoyed this venue. Purchase parking ahead for ease and just follow directions to assigned lot. Website stated empty bottles were allowed in, but my empty collapsible bottles had to be tossed before I could come in. We chose to eat at the theatre, which is overly pricey, but given there are no there options close by we caved. I was surprised that beyond meat burgers were on the menu with a GF bun. It was delicious and I was excited to have vegan options like cashew based nice cream. Seating is similar to baseball stadiums and easy to locate your assignment. Overall sound quality was great. Leaving was a little confusing as we had to go up through the hills and end up on Los Felis. Make sure you look up ahead so you know where you are as cell service is spotty at best.
Its always amazing. Even when its closed :) Love it there!
Loved coming to this theater! There isnt a bad seat in the house. Parking can be steep in price ranging from $25+ depending on how close. Ride-sharing drops you off near by and its a quick walk cross the street. Or you can walk a quarter to half a mile depending on parking in the neighborhood. Parking aside, you will enjoy this place and come back for more shows and concerts.
Cinespia at the Greek. Awsome!!
One of the best places to see live music, bands and performances in Los Angeles. It is not a huge place so it is easier to manage. Parking near the event is expensive ($40) so alternative is to park at the off-site parking near the pony riding center which provides shuttle bus (DASH). The $10 fee includes bus pass for each person in the car. You cannot bring in your own beverage and there are multiple entrances so look for them if you see long lines at an entrance. Bring a sweater or jacket if your event is on the evening during fall or winter months.
I really liked this venue! a great spot for a summer concert. my friend and i got to the show about an hour early and managed to find a street parking spot (saved 30 bucks on parking! look out for street signs though because some areas are tow away after 8pm). the venue itself is clean and intimate... similar to the hollywood bowl but smaller. the band was super fun and i would definitely like to come to more concerts here in the future. the only thing was that there were a lot of people in our section smoking weed so it smelled pretty strongly throughout the evening.
Its closed becouse ww fear a bacteria
Awesome little intimate venue, it’s an iconic location for artists to perform, and we had seats in A-Left, 10 rows back and had great views! Chairs are nice, concessions are super accessible (and pricey, $16 for a 24-oz beer), and a nice little picnic area with turf for hanging out before and after. Parking is pretty rough, and leaving is chaotic, so recommend putting on your walking shoes and walking downhill 1/4 mi to large intersection and ordering a rideshare. Would love to return here to see my favorite artists!
The Greek is as good as I imagined, perfect venue for any type of show. Went there for the first time to watch The Chemical Brothers and it was perfect. Only issue is the very limited parking, we ended up taking the shuttle to the venue from a parking lot that was kind of far. I also didnt like how early they stopped selling alcohol (Vegas people problems) ;)
Went with my son to see Alice Cooper; it was our first time visiting this place and we had a very pleasant experience. The sound is great and the views too. The traffic was a bit crazy but thats to be expected. The ushers are very friendly and helpful. Theres many places where you can buy food and drinks inside but we didnt get a chance to check them out, maybe next time. Also, they have a picnic area outside the venue where you can sit for a while before the event or after, while you wait for the traffic to get better.
One of the most unique, cozy venues in the entire city situated in idyllic Griffith Park. Seats less than 6000 people so every seat has a good view of the stage with near perfect acoustics.Parking can be a hassle as its a half mile one lane street to the entrance with people also going up to the observatory. Advice is to park off-site on the other side of the park near Crystal Springs and take the shuttle. Not much residential parking is available near the venue.
Beautiful venue, first time I go there is not too big so yo can have good views. The acoustic had some issues but still enjoyable
I came here for the Joe Russos Almost Dead tour, and the venue is pretty cool. It feels a lot like the Hollywood Bowl, with stadium seating, which Im definitely not a fan of. The location is nice though, and has plenty of parking. You can even get cheaper parking at a lot, and then you just take a shuttle to the venue. There is minimal cell reception.
Had a great time. Parking was easy, getting a drink was quick and finding our seats was easy as well. Incubus concert was amazing!
This venue is simply amazing. Beautiful open air venue, not a bad seat in the house! Food prices a tad high but willing to pay to keep the venue gorgeous!
It was my first-time at the Greek Theatre it was acoustically pleasing the sound was amazing for an amphitheater. I was able to view stars in the sky which is a rarity in Los Angeles. I attended Hillsongs There is More worship concert and there is definitely more than you expect at yhis venue.
Great venue. The food, the atmosphere are fantastic. My biggest negative is parking and driving is very narrow and limited. I had to leave the event a little early because if you dont youre going to be stuck in traffic for a couple hours.
Sat in box seats, dead center. Great table service. Food was very good. Had a wonderful time. VIP parking is so close, its ridiculous. Concert was great as well... Sugarland!
Recently saw the group YES at the Greek and really loved the Theatre. Good food along with a smaller theater made for a good time. The Greek is cozy compared to say the Forum.
The parking was a bit sketchy. Parking in a dirt lot butted up in a sea of cars, but it was the smoothest time Ive ever had getting out of a venue. I love this venue because you feel like youre in the middle of nowhere listening to your favorite artist... Ill definitely be back. I dont think theres a bad seat here!
Great place for concerts. Outdoor venue. Bring a sweater, gets chilly in the evening. Sounds great!!
I have been in Greek theaters two times, one for Yannis concert and the last time for hiking in Griffith Park, you can park the car for free in parking lots there Id there us no concert at that time and take a walk to Griffith park and Griffith Observatory. If you are going there for the concert I think you will be charged around 20-40 dollars, depened on which parking lot you will choose.
Nice experience. Get to see different chinese art everywhere in the theatre.
One of the best theaters in California. Incredible location, awesome history, the best performers and open air seating. Theyll rip your eyes out on the concessions (as per usual with theaters) and the parking is a little nightmarish but overall its a great place to attend a concert.
Very fun environment.Well orginized and great customer skills.
The Greek is a beautiful outdoor venue! We were lucky enough to get in Box 17, and it was just left of center stage. Great view and the service was lovely. There were 2 screens on the side of the stage so the close ups were easy to see!
Absolutely fabulous. Saw Chicago in concert, they are better in person... The horn section is tremendous. They are artists and entertainers... Beautiful music. They are aging perfectly. But the music is ageless.. The Greek is a perfect size for an intimate concert. Reserve a spot for the next concert.
This was my first experience at The Greek and it was awesome! The venue is basically a smaller, cleaner more intimate version of the Hollywood Bowl. We brought a picnic and ate in the park before the show and just walked right in, couldnt have worked out better. The seats were comfortable for the small amount of time we were sitting, the drinks were expensive, but not obscene and best of all, the aucustics were fantastic! I will certainly be looking for a reason to return sooner than later!
I was there for the @robthomas concert and i dont think theres a bad seat in this place, its stadium seating and the seats are stadium seats. Pretty cool place, the food is a lil pricey but expected because well its a concert. Parking was $30.00 and not too far from the entrance.
Finally got to experience a cool show ( Joey Bada$$ and Beast Coast) Amazing venue sounds are crazy!!!
It is a decent and fairly intimate small amphitheater. I saw Peter Frampton and Steve Miller here on 08/11/2018; it was a fantastic show! I will be seeing Arcade Fire here 09/20/2018; I am very excited for this show. The only problem I have with the venue is the public transit situation; the Dash bus was not really reliable for getting me - a disabled person - back to the Red Line.
By far one of the best small venues in Los Angeles with amazing sounds and gorgeous views.
The history of the Greek Theatre dates to 1882, when Colonel Griffith J. Griffith came to America from South Wales to seek fortune in gold mining. Colonel Griffith settled in Los Angeles and purchased the Los Feliz Rancho, which he later donated to the City of Los Angeles in 1896. This three thousand acre gift to the residents of Los Angeles was given with the intent that Griffith Park would be made an eternal place of public recreation.Throughout its history, the Greek has played host to some of the biggest legends in music. Its many stars have included Sir Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Carlos Santana and many more.
Im not really into theaters for concerts, but I did like this one. I just saw the Stray Cats and they rocked it up!!!!!!!This is not a really big theater and the sound was great especially for an outdoor venue. It wasnt a hassle to get back to your seat when going to the concession stands or restrooms.
If you parked in H parking lot they directed you out to the left up the hill to exit down the windy road by the observatory. Its very dark so drive careful.
Great sounds d system, great acts. Lighting and pyro tech is top. Lots of staff to help out. Over all just a top experience!!
Billie Eilish Concert 7/11/19. Our seats were located at (North Terrace R3) view was not bad at all. Our parking was located at the Griffith Park Pony Ride, I would suggest to purchase the $15 shuttle ride online and this will take you to the concert and back to your vehicle. When you arrive they will give you a wristband so you can keep it on and be able to get on the shuttle.- Long lines so be there at least 2 hours before concert starts.-At the venue they have food but be prepared to pay $$$ for it.+ Security was good with no issues and were actually pretty helpful. I definitely would come back for another concert....had a great time.
Wow what a theatre and what a performance by Avril Lavigne. Sound was outstanding. We entered and exited the theatre in no time with little hastle.
It looks extraordinary as always.
Been there for the 3rd time this year. Recently seen INCUBUS. Great band..awesome venue.
Small little venue. Made me enjoy the music more than a huge concert where the crowd drowns out the artists.
This is my favorite place for shows in the LA area. Ive seen The Airborne Toxic Event, Wait Wait Dont Tell Me and Cake/Ben Folds here. There isnt a bad seat in the place and the food and drinks, while expensive are great. Heavy pours and quality food are available and while expensive, theyre better than 99% of the other venues in LA. Only thing that sucks is parking, its insanely expensive, but again, welcome to LA.
Amazing Theatre, great location, a bit of a hike from parking.
Amazing experience and memories. Thank you so much!
Great venue to see a live performance! Traffic can be a lil tuff when arriving, but plenty off parking. Phone reception can be a bit of a task. But from what I understand, if youre an AT&T customer and have 1of their devices(while there) you will be able to get service.
I really enjoyed this venue... very intimate setting. There is alot of hills and walking. We drove up to lot G for handicap parking. It was 25 per car. We were right at the entrance and didnt have to walk far. Pretty quick getting thru the metal detectors. They have a smoking section towards the main entrance. The espresso and coffee there is pretty good. We sat up at the top in aisle W right before the benches. Im 6ft1 and usually my knees hit the back of concert seats.. but I would say I had about 3 extra inches to the seat in front of me. They have drink holders on the back of the chairs... better than on the arm rest. I went to the restrooms and wow it was huge. I would guess over 30 to 40 stalls and everything is super clean. They also had drink holders in the stalls... just like when you go to a hockey or baseball game. It was a mad rush out.. so we ended up waiting in this huge line for the restroom in the parking lot that only had 2 stalls. One of the doors was broke and no toilet paper or paper towels. I dropped my rating for this place because of those bathrooms. The dirt and stuff all over this place. Not very clean... it needs a power washing and new paint. Like how much can that cost? Hopefully they fix it up because nobody should have to go to the restroom in that filth. Im sure you guys make plenty of money to afford a gallon or 2 of paint.
One of my favorite venues outside with a patio area been here many times since my job has a contract with AEG. The Staff is amazing and very nice there is not a bad seat since the venue is not to big several bars and food stations and located next to the Griffith observatory.
Great venue. Historical merit too. Cannot wait to return for a live event.
Went here for the 100th episode of the Walking Dead. This is a great outdoor amphitheater. Seats could have been a bit more comfortable, but otherwise it was great. Parking is a bit confusing your first time there. Be prepared and arrive a bit early on your visits. Lots of handicapped parking for free, if you get there early enough, also.
One of my favorite venues of all time have been coming here since high school just got to see one of my favorite bands of all time King Crimson I was with some of my favorite people the place never fails Great Sound most of the seats are awesome just an all-around always positive experience heck even getting out of the parking lot is not that big a deal
Great experiences here. The staff was friendly, the venue was safe. They hold great concerts, I specifically visited for the LA LGBT Center Hearts of Gold show. Loved every minute of it
Had a good show, gost of the forest. The venue is nice and staff are the best.
Great time at the Greek. Really loved the intimacy of this outdoor theater venue which has great acoustics and comfortable stadium seating. Special accommodation section was the best ever utilized. Provided option to stay in private mobile chair or in comfortable accommodating seating. My family and I attended a celebratory tribute ceremony at this venue for Marvin Gaye. We havent been to The Greek Theatre in several years. (My mom grew up attending performances at The Greek, so our return was very nostalgic for her). During recent years weve been frequenting Hollywood Bowl. However, because of such a hassle free afternoon and the helpfulness and caring shown us by the ushers and the convenient location and great ambiance of the amphitheatre, we definitely plan on attending this summer concert season and other offerings.
Nesteled in the mountains...this venue has delicious food a fantastic concerts
This is a wonderful venue for a concert. All seats are great. Sat in the Terrace section and had a great view & experience. When first coming in be patient for the parking situation but leaving is a breeze.
Better than the Hollywood Bowl, but parking is a nightmare. Recommend parking elsewhere and ubering to the theater. Service can be pretty bad up there so watch out for that. Past that, its a comfortable theater. Great place for shows.
This is an amazing venue, there is not one bad seat on the place, only ordered a water was very pricey but thats to be expected.
Great sound, wonderful atmosphere, a more intimate feel compared to other LA spots. It is cool to go and experience The Greek at least once. I would go back at some point. The leaving was the worst part. We took an uber pool back, but it was fine, we checked out the houses on the way down. The bathrooms seemed far and few between, but were clean. I saw Will Ferrells Best Night of Your Life charity event. Show itself was great, had plenty of fun. Normal pricing for event standards, area was clean, staff were friendly. The venue was similar to that of the Irvine Bowl (Pageant of the Masters, Laguna Beach). Dont forget to bring your glasses!
What. Beautiful venue! If you get a chance to see a concert here ... take it! If you want to see a show and you have a venue choice in the area choose this one. The outdoor setting is amazing. This gem is nestled in the trees. I’ve been here several times and just discovered the parking down below. It’s cheaper. They shuttle you in and out quickly. We were on the road faster than ever before after the show. It’s cheaper and faster than the parking near the venue.
The venue staff are very polite and helpful. Restrooms are clean and have plentiful stalls. The venue is beautiful with wonderful visual and sound effects. I saw Hozier perform and the concert was incredible. The one downside is that there is poor crowd control so there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on. Leaving the parking lot was hazardous due to poor traffic control. Overall it was still a pleasant experience and I look forward to returning.
Great discovery, do not miss it if ever around and a concert happens. The hills behind the venue give to it a special ambience and sound, almost like Delphi theater, at least this is the idea behind, less windy and modern, of course.
Awesome! I believe there is no bad seat in the whole place. Sound was fantastic and getting in and out very well organized and smooth. Took the shuttle, had to wait a bit for the one @ the end but still totally worth the no stressing about parking space.
Pretty neat venue. Went to see Bastille last night and it was a nice experience.
Tom Jones at The Greek Theatre was one of the best concerts Ive see this year. His voice is still pure magic. And hes a true gentleman! What class, what style and what a voice! God bless Tom Jones!
Beautiful iconic venue for concerts. Seating is ample and comfortable with great acoustics for an open air arena. Transport to and fro can be a little difficult with the crowds given the venues isolation, but a great experience in natural surrounds.
Update your seating chart! way!!! complicated to understand. I have absolutely no idea where my seat is.
Saw Anita Baker here in September 2018. Great venue. The sound is awesome and really enjoyed the nighttime concert. Lots of food too.
This place is amazing!!!! Up in the hills such a great venue! I had the pleasure so see a Will Ferrell charity concert/comedy night here. Man did they rock the place. Only reason for the 4 stars is just like any other place food is subpar and very overpriced. Make sure u eat before. Alchohol is overpriced but that we all know. Pretty good on the Rocks margaritas tho!
This is one of my favorite places to go for shows. The cost for food and drinks are a bit pricey, but so are other venues. To see your favorite musicians in this type of atmosphere is priceless!!
One of the best venues in Los Angeles ... in California overall.Theres not a bag seat anywhere. The pit area around the stage is the best! Never too crowded and yet never empty to a point that theres no energy.Getting into the venue is almost always smooth. (Hate to say it because its not very green, but it does seem to go more smoothly with a paper ticket.)Food, beer and alcohol available inside is good, but not exceptional. You probably wont complain, but you probably wont find your favorite craft beer. And though the food is limited, its very good! (Looking at you sweet potato tots.) And the prices are very, very fair for a music venue.Getting to the venue can be a challenge. Parking is tough and expensive. There is a shuttle you can book for a small fee. These options exist, but your best bet is Uber or Lyft (plan extra time to get trapped in the line of cars headed in) or walking (the walk from Los Feliz Blvd. Is about a mile, but if youre at all physically fit its not a challenge and is quite enjoyable).Walking is definitely your best bet upon leaving. Youll wait forever for the shuttle or your ride share, and if youre parked it will take an hour to creep out in the crowds. Walking down to Los Feliz will be the quickest and least stressful option. This is outdoors so dress for that. I highly recommend layers, as Los Angeles can get chilly at night (even during the summer concert season).Grab a ticket to your favorite band and come enjoy this amazing venue.
Great place to watch a concert. All seats are a good view with the exception of some obstructed view seats which your told before you purchase them. Best outdoor venue.
Parking is easy if you buy online in advance, parking lot A&B is recommend. Clean venue, venue food is overrated and overpriced and needs menu update, so eat before arriving. Seating near the stage is good, side seats are good too.
A great place for a summer concert. More intimate than the Hollywood Bowl, even if its not as intimate as it as it use to be.However unlike the Bowl, you are NOT allowed to bring in outside food or drink. But there is ample places to have a picnic after you park and before you enter the Theater. The one thing I would like too see is better public transportation choices.
Another great L.A. invention, the Greek theater offers a mini-Hollywood Bowl experience - this time for Rodrigo y Gabriela. The concert atmosphere was fantastic, the setup overall very well organized. Except that the food opportunities are too limited. At the Mercedes Lounge, having a single person completing all the orders one by one was very nice of her (cannot blame her for the faulty setup), but highly inefficient and an insult to the customers who had to wait more than 45 min for the order to be completed...Tip: Park at a distance, consider shuttle bus or walk ...
Great for concerts. Its such a beautiful atmosphere and not too big so all seats are good. ONLY thing...because its an outdoor venue, the music doesnt sound as loud as indoor concerts.
Great venue for an intimate show tucked away in the wild hills of Los Angeles. The sound is terrific. Getting in and out seems daunting as its buried among several small neighborhoods, but the theater really isnt that big so its not so bad.Really interesting food choices on site that are priced appropriately, though there are plenty of off-site options nearby. If youre in LA or dont mind going to LA, you can get a Hollywood Bowl experience from a venue a fraction of the size.Never had a bad sure at The Greek!
Good hangout spot!
What a great venue! The only problem I see is that the great seats we got are even closer together than a Southwest Airlines coach/ economy seat!Very uncomfortable. Other than that, a great time.
I would give this 5 stars if not for the parking. Small venue, all seats are good. Sound is good. But the parking seems like a money grab, should be included in the price of the ticket, especially for stacked parking which can cause extreme delays after the show ends. Shuttle was sold out, even that has a price.
I was very fortunate to have a guided tour of the WHOLE of the Greek Theatre. From walking on stage, to touring the dressing rooms to the areas reserved for chilling out after the show to the huge infrastructure which allows huge shows to take place. Super impressive structure with amazing history and the line up of shows is always awesome.
Great venue for a concert small and surrounded by beautiful trees. Not a big selection for drinks, beers were so expensive 2 for 30.... eek :/
The Greek is the best concert venue in LA. It’s big enough so that it attracts amazing bands, and small enough that every seat in the house is amazing. Most recent concert I attended was Nathaniel Rateliff and it was sublime. One word of caution is that the parking is a bit crazy. It’s stacked parking (similar to the Bowl) so you just have to be patient
Such a beautiful venue and great sound! Seated auditorium and a small pit area, expensive everything and parking is packed. Park down the hill for free around the area and walking up to the venue is the best thing to do. It’s also easier getting out the venue because you miss all the traffic jam from when the show ends.
This is probably my favorite concert venue in LA. Easy to get in and out of, just the right size so there are no bad seats in the house, and the cleanliness, acoustics, and food are all top-notch. Like a mini Hollywood Bowl without the headaches of getting to it. A tip - use the parking shuttle at Griffith Park Pony Rides! Its half the price, easy, and the shuttles are all fancy and clean with leather seats.
This was my first time at the Greek Theater to see Alice Cooper. My experience couldnt have been better. Excellent show and venue. The only complaints would be the usual, expensive beers at $15 for a tall can and expensive parking at $25 & up. I highly recommend going early to avoid the traffic up the hill or parking at the bottom for $10 and taking the shuttle.
Every time my family and I catch anyone here (usually the Forum so not often), we know its going to be unreal. I havent been back since 2015 either and its better than ever. Honestly the experience would beat the Hollywood Bowl if only I could picnic here
This is a cute, fun venue, and navigation in and out of it is well managed. A lot of places this size can get crowded and become a disaster but they know how to keep traffic moving. I would love to come back here again.
Great venue to see Rev Al Green
Caught Kasey Musgraves here. Great place to see a show! Rock up early and hang out one of the bars. it took us one hour to park though.
Love going to see concert. Good location and easy to fine and yes the is parking.
Great venue... Make sure to bring your flats for walking back to car
Really intimate setting, great sound, sidewalks are very bad, so be careful
Amazing Venue. Great views from any seat and sound acoustics is perfect. The only down side is the parking. I would suggest getting on the shuttle bus that runs every 15 min. Otherwise you will see accidents like I did and be stuck for over an hour trying to get out.
