Great open area for taking the dogs, can easily walk over a mile and a half and let your dogs swim. It never gets boring. Make sure your dog has a strong recall as this is not fenced at all. Its sad seeing people lose their dogs.
The East Branch Forest Preserve is actually divided into two separate areas. One - for walks, picnics and fishing - is accessible from Glen Ellyn Road, while the off-leash dog area can be accessed from Swift Road.
Its a nice forest preserve with a nice trail (about 1 mile) around the big lake. Pretty area
Its our favorite park. My dog loves it.
Excellent park. Beautiful view and great for the obedient dog run.
Very peaceful walk around the trail
This is a beautiful outdoor area with walking/running trails around a large pond.
It has some lovely trails and, despite having no fences, is well off the road.
Quaint, nice size for the kids. Away from the busy road.
Nice grassy trail around the lake. Less than a mile....
My Butkus loves it, and the water too!
This place has its own unique beauty
Love this place. Very peaceful
Great small lol trail for dogs. Just be careful with the ticks tho.
Water features. Great open spaces.
Amazing dog park. The amount of space at this place is impressive. Your dog will love it. And its enjoyable to walk around as well
Great place to tire out your dogs
Very beautiful today.
Great trails for you and your dog to explore
Plant flowers and add stones or cool rocks for path and wildflowers for trails something to make it look more beautiful!! Help keep the lake going somehow too its shrinking size since I moved here 10 years ago . People compete for the spot in front maybe level out the place and make room for more visits
Our pups live this place! Since its so big theres plenty of space for running and romping, and they can play with the other dogs and move on. We have had really good experiences so far with the other dogs weve met, and the people are nice too
Beautiful Spot, lots of area, water for sight seeing & fishing, clean, nice paved drive & parking spaces. Info post, maps & brochures available. Very nice Preserve, highly recommend, will return!
Beautiful forest to walk off lease with my doggie.
Very small FP. Not much to see.
My dogs love this place. So much room for them to run and meet other dogs.
Always enjoy walking the dogs around lake. They love exploring around all the little areas.
Best Dog park in western suburbs. My two labs love it here. Trails, ponds, picnic tables. My dogs go home exhausted. Plenty of other dogs to play with. The reason I give it 5 stars is my dogs love it here. So worth getting the permits . See you there.......
Never been. Google asks me to review it like 10 times a week so heres hoping this is the end of this nonsense. Im sure its a lovely place though.
Love the view. Great place to fish and a good picnic area
Our furry baby loved the lakes and all the paths
Great open space for you and your dog
My dog loves this place. Gets home out roaming. Just make sure you have good recall, as this 60+ acre off leash park is un-fenced.
Nice park to visit with your friends or family
My dog had so much fun the water is great for dogs to swim play and chase each other
If you have dog with basic obedience training that likes other dogs, no other place in dupage county is better.
Its was fine
This place is wonderful! There is a beautiful scenery that makes for an enjoyable experience. I wouldnt want to relax anywhere else but here, everything is just so calm and peaceful. Without a doubt in my heart, I proudly say, I love this forest preserve. :)
Great place to camp out or picnic.
I am a big fan of Forest Preserve system.
Wonderfully peaceful and clean, lovely place to visit
We had a great hike here for our cub scout den meeting even though it was cold we still saw quite a few birds and even a beaver swimming outside its den
One of the absolute best places to take your dog for nature hike or dip in 1 of the many ponds. Not a good place for drinking or pot smoking, The tree cops hide in different areas to spy on people for this reason and Wait for you to leave so they can pull you over and sieze your vehicle. This brings them a ton of extra revenue.
Off leash dog park is great for any size pup. It has a a gravel trail you can follow or you can also follow the dirt roads closer to the lake. Theres big open areas for the dogs to run around in, docking areas to train/work the dogs in the water. Permit is needed from the county, ranger often stops by to check permits. The entry is not gated, if your pup is not on a good recall definitely keep him in leash for the parking lot.
Very nice lake and small hill
I love this place and my dog loves. Its not fenced in unfortunately so make sure your dog is good with recall and good off leash. It does get muddy in the spring and when it rains but I like that. My dog and I love to walk in the puddles and get muddy and just have a good time. Lots of little trails to walk and LOTS of space. Sometimes there are those big birds in the ponds and its fun to see dogs bark at them. There are also a few places where its like a beach. Sand/dirt into the water. Really recommend this place.
Nice trails, nice people- great place to enjoy the first few days of nice weather!!
Love the scenery, silence, and nature.
The preserve was very clean and presentable
Good place for a calm and relaxed stroll. Love to take the kids for a nature walk. Also, they have picnic tables for a quick bite.
Its a nice place to take your dog to they will like it a whole bunch
Caught big fish here even a turtle
Good play for fishing
Love taking our dogs here. No fences open land, swimming for the pooches. You cant go wrong here.
Serene. Clean.
Visited the off leash dog area. Easy access from the parking lot. My dogs loved meeting new friends and going in the pondm
Huge, unfenced, off-leash dog park. Two ponds (one very large) for water sports. If your dog is well socialized and you can trust them not to run off, you will both have a blast here. Permit from Dupage County Forest Preserve required.
Love the off leash dog park (60+ acres). I take my boys (basset hounds) every weekend.
Clean. Dog friendly. A lot of nice paths to walk on. A lot of regional appropriate vegetation.
I love nature and this is one of the many forest preserves where you can enjoy nature!!
Always enjoy walking the dogs around lake. They love exploring around all the little areas.
Easy parking
I take my dogs here a couple times a week. Great offleash park. We love it.
Plenty of space, water, and FRIENDLY dogs to socialize with! Dont let the $40 annual permit dissuade you - its worth it! Our little guy gets excited miles away when he figures out we are going there.
Visited for model rocket launch. NIRA did a great job for the Cub scouts rocket launch. Missing star for no running water or bathroom. Only Porta Potty.
Wonderful place to run the pups off leash. Lots of great natural substrate trails to explore. Just watch out for mud if its rained recently.
My boys have been going to Disneyland for 4 years. They will never go to another park and be as happy. 345 days a Year.
What an amazing place to take the dogs! Trails, ponds, other dogs. Puppy heaven. My dogs came home exhausted. We drove an hour from far north side of Chicago. Totally worth it.
I come here regularly with my dog. There are 10 acres of off leash dog areas to explore so each walk is never the same! Best off leash dog area in the vicinity.
Good swimming area for dogs
Great place for off leash dog walking. I have been several times and have enjoyed myself each time.
Best dog park. Just buy your card and enjoy! Please dont forget to pick up after your furry loved one.
Such a great place to take your dogs. Ive got both big and little and between the paths and large yard like areas with and with out pond access (lots of the dogs love to go into the water to swim or chase toys) it is a wonderful place to let your pups get some much needed exercise and socialization. My newest dog is about 5 or so and a rescue who is still learning commands but loves other dogs so its a good experience for him and the majority of the owners there know dogs and how they behave and have good pets that just want to play or run around. There are doggy pick up bags and garbage cans throughout the area and its well maintained In so much as a forest pre sure should be. There are of course occasions where people who just dont get the concept that shouldnt be there but over all its amazing
A great set of trails with ponds for the dogs to swim in.
My dog loves it there, lots of trails and areas for him to swim and explore
Nice walk in the Park
Giant, enormous, huge. I dare you to walk all the way around it. You and the pup will love it!
Good place
My dog loves this off leash dog park. Its full of brush with trails and trees to run thru. He also likes to swim in the ponds to cool off. What more could the poddle monster want.
Large grassy fields with space for your pooches to torment each other, water for the swimmers (including a few beaches), and various paths to match whatever your desired length of walk is. There are some picnic tables/benches if you need a rest (I dont recommend bringing a picnic... Or doing special occasion photos here, for that matter), and the paths are either gravel or natural terrain. This used to be a come-one-come-all place but now you need to get a permit, which is stupid because we already pay for the land with our taxes. But they have their reasons....If you want to go for longer walk that takes you along the perimeter of the land, caution, there is a water crossing (though not very deep and narrow) so wear boots. There used to be makeshift bridges there years ago but the park district decided to discourage use of that back portion so the birds could have a quieter habitat. Damn tax-paying birds, because they felt so bothered -_-At any rate, the dogs love it here and it is a good walk. There arent typically too many issues with aggressive dogs (partially due to permits) but of course there is always the potential for some risk when you get a bunch of animals together (and sometimes stupid owners). I offer my caution about going without a permit, the forest preserve police are frequently here and have no mercy.
Good place to go
The place was calm and peaceful, with a great abandoned barn which adds to the view. Amazing place to let your dog run without a leash.
Great place and lots of neat areas for my dog to explore.
Beautiful dog park. Trails and lakes. So peaceful!
Nice parking space. Not always crowded. Porta john is a plus. Problem is. The place can get really wet. So 4 stars
Fantastic get away you really feel like youre not in a forest preserve .
Off leash Dog park. Big area for dogs to run, hunt, swim and have a great time with other Dogs.
This place is great, lots of room and a few ponds. Note, this is not fenced.
