Off-leash dog park that is NOT fenced in (thought it was when we went, but just didnt read the website closely...my bad!), but quite spacious. Our dog can get a little mono-focused and wander/sprint away so we found a secluded area back by one of the lakes and let him off leash there. He had a blast.Right as we were pulling out of the parking lot the DuPage County Forest Preserve Police showed up. We had bought a one day permit, so we were all good even if we had stayed a little longer. Just putting this here to let people know that they DO enforce the permit rules. And honestly, just buy the permit. It helps the Forest Preserve with maintenance and upkeep.

Very excited to finally check out this off-leash dog park. Its huge with many side trails to explore. Our dog loved the freedom to roam trails. The water still has algae bloom so no swimming, but its still a great area to take your dogs.

Got a bit lost in here once, riding my bike and thinking the bike path loop was a thruway to get to Army Trail Rd. This was before the days of using my phone as a GPS of course. Did see a park ranger here once overlooking the place. And, funny of all, never suspected this place being a dog park because I never saw any indicators (people with dogs or other evidence) that this was a dog park. With that said this place sounds fantastic for dogs.

Great off leash park...some of the trails are harder than others to navigate but still loads of fun for your pups. Lots of water for your dog to swim. Some places have green algae but you can find spots that do not.

Easily the best dog park in the greater Chicago area, and possibly the Midwest as a whole. East Branch is a massive, beautiful chunk of land with everything you could ask for. Wide, clear paths for easy walking with plenty of narrow paths through the brush to the sides of thats your thing. Plenty of sizeable open areas great throwing a ball. A large, clean lake with countless access points for your pup to take a dunk into. Incredible scenery and wildlife that youll never get tired of seeing. The park is heavily trafficked on the weekends and in the summer even more so, but despite that it is always well maintained and its large enough that you could go a considerable amount of time without seeing other people/dogs of you didnt want to, especially if you stick to the back half behind the lake.

This dog park is amazing - I had no idea there were such nice dog parks. The park is very large and has several small lakes with multiple beaches for your dog to play at. The area is mostly prairie with several trails winding through it for you and your dog to explore. There are both peat-gravel paths and dirt hiking trails with a few benches and waste-bins.Make sure you bring a towel as there are ample opportunities for your dog to go for a swim or simply roll in a puddle.
