Nice little downtown park, theres a nice playground for kids and a stream to look at and some picnic areas. Theres a special needs playground which is unusual, so thats cool. Good for dog walkers but not big enough to get much exercise for yourself, though there seem to be big expansion ideas in the works. Nice and shady.
Our First time here & its an amazing park. One of Lexington Countys hidden gems. Beautiful park layout with lots of shade. Very clean with lots of benches and tables with covered tops. Very safe and secure childrens paradise tucked behind the Lexington Municipal building. Very clean restrooms with water fountain. Highly recommend to all parents.
A beautiful jewel of a park in downtown Lexington. Paved paths for strollers, creek access, creek falls overlooks, playground w/ swings and more. Under the towering Loblollies you have an ‘old growth’ feel. Lovingly maintained and planted (did I even see a demure Japanese Maple?). Get thee to Hylton Park!
Beautiful little park with nice places to sit and read or relax under shaded trees while listening to the gurgling stream. Within smelling distance of local BBQ, this place makes a great little picnic or lunch spot.
As a recent in-mover, I was looking for a place to take a walk and experience the flora and fauna of South Carolina. First, a decent amount of parking. Its not only for kids, but for adults. I experienced new trees, lizards, squirrels that I dont think exist in PA.
I go here now since Gibson Rd park is closed. I walk my dog. Nice that it fully covered by trees.
A nice park to walk in with some locations to sit and enjoy nature. Great handicap playground.
It is a hidden treasure in the city. Well shaded, easy to follow paths, quiet and pet friendly. A childrens play area. Small and cozy park
This park is a natural jewel right in downtown Lexington. One of many in this city, which sets Lexington apart from asphalt and concrete deserts like West Columbia.
Nice place to walk. Quiet, and peaceful away from the playground. Well shaded.
Serene area with plenty of trees and well maintained walkways. A creek with small waterfalls complete the tranquil setting. The park also has play areas for the kids and covered areas for picnics.
My favorite park in Lexington. Its great for a or if you want to spend a few quiet moments in the serenity garden.
Love this place!! Good for fotos pick nick family one of the playground specific for disability!!
Really good view. Just took maternity pictures there and they turn out great!
Very peaceful. Uncrowded. Quiet.
Beautiful, shady (and by shady I mean there is lots of trees and shade..LOL) park in downtown Lexington....They have trails, picnic shelters, playground equipment, and swings. The little creek that runs through the park is lovely. My kids always find lots of wildlife here to marvel at....frogs, fish, bugs, etc.
Ate lunch and let my toddler play on the play ground. It could use some work the are a few worn out parts but we enjoyed the slides and swings
Park is great for kids, its behind a police station so I assume its safe, I chopped off 1 star due to the ground being very unstable on one side alot of roots and drop offs, the equipment could use a little upgrading but kids enjoy it you just have to watch them, obviously. Its fully handicap accessible and the view is nice, been there many times never had a bad one.. at the park that is!
Nice park very shady with a lot of trees.
This park is beautiful and unique! There are two play structures and plenty of swings for all ages go children. I love how it’s tight in the middle of downtown yet with all the trees it feels like a little oasis. The police station is right by the parking lot which provides and additional peace of mind. I have kids ranging in ages from 12-2 and they all enjoy what Virginia Hylyon has to offer. This is the best park in the area by far!
Good place to go for exercise with walking. There are a lot of hills to walk up. Really gave me a workout.
They are doing a lot of improvements. Nice little quiet park, new plants and flowers, pathways, and bridges, playground for kiddos too!
This was perfect for families or dates. It has a nice walking path and park.
We go to the park often and we love it for a walking exercise. However the walking trail is in need of repair as roots from trees have formed large cracks in the walk path. Be careful especially with little ones.
Very nice place for family fun.
Its nice but needs some improvement
Visited it for the first time and loved it
Nice place to bring the kiddos for a couple hours
Needs to have better drainage around the play equipment. It hasnt rained in 4 days and there is water standing under the swings and at the bottom of the slides. The toddler play yard has water and mud standing in the slide and pine straw and leaves built up on the platforms. The swings need to be replaced they look filthy.
Usually love this park. But with all the construction, it was hard to walk through. Paths are no longer joined and the new ones are not finished. It will be great when finished. Loved the new parking and bridges. Really nice because the walk is completely shaded.
Awesome park, very beautiful. If it has just rained its great to take a stroll but if you are bringing little ones to play then you may want to let the sun dry some of the playground off.
Wonderful park. Lots of play area. Small waterfall/pond area to get your feet wet. We have my daughters birthday party here every year and she loves it! Its my all time favorite park in this area. They keep it very clean too, which is a huge plus!
Very nice place
Great place to have a picnic and enjoy the outdoors. Safe and family friendly
Beautiful park that also has swing sets and a playground for both children and children with special needs. Part of the park is being redone to make it even better. Flower galore! Many paths and gazebos. Benches for resting. Little waterfalls and rivers. Cute, quaint, and a nice place to take little ones or just contemplate.
Family fun for kids, paths are nice and park is clean
What a wonderful green space right in townlook
My kid and I always enjoy coming here. Wish it was more updated a few areas but still very beautiful with all the nature
Beautiful park. Plenty of equipment. They also have a special needs section! They have picnic tables for you to use. We always take our lunches and have a picnic. The one we used was right by the creek it was so pretty!
Awesome pleace to walk, picnic, walk trail, social distance!!
Took my granddaughter, like the new improvements ️
Very beautiful, very small, very hard to find on google maps, great playground equipment for kids
The variety of things that this place has to offer is amazing and its right next to the police department so it feels safe. There is even a special needs play ground. Amazing
Great place for us to walk our dog. She loves going to this place
This is such a beautiful park..... Its like a hidden gem tucked away in Lexington!!
Its a nice shaded park but theres construction going on so part of it was blocked off so we had to take a small loop around the pond. Once construction is done Im sure itd be a nicer larger area to walk/run.
They just keep inproving this place. Very nice park for kids and adults. Walk ways r beautiful.
Great park in the Lexington area. Good for walks or taking the kids to go play!
Great little park. Cant wait to see what its like when its finished.
I took my six year old grandson. He had an absolute blast. I was impressed with the cleanliness and the upgrades that have been made recently. Lexington can be proud of this jewel right in the middle of our wonderful town.
Great for the kiddies !!
For kids, not much of a trail at all.
We always love visiting VHP. The fact so much is shaded is great when its hot out. There are lots of walking paths. Pretty creeks and ponds. The playground is great for little and big kids. They even have a swing set for those with disabilities. We always feel extra safe being near the police department. Also love how close it is to nearby restaurants and the amphitheater.
Hidden gem. Great family-friendly place for picnics & birthdays. Awesome playgrounds
Fun play grounds nice walking areas. Children loves the water and park areas
Very nice, clean park. There were many families there on the Sunday I visited. Playgrounds, streams, tables, and a party gazibo to rent. Very nice setting.
I absolutely love this park. Ive been coming here since I was a child, now its time to take mine here. I love the updates to the park!
Nice park, lots of others families. Love the improvements and what they are adding on that makes it more nature-y.
We love walking this park and playing.... can see turtles, frogs and cool little waterfalls
Very nice park. Shady and nice play area for kids. I was a visitor passing through. I love the many trees and little stream that runs down beside. My daughter said what a cool place it could be for a small outdoor wedding. It is right in town.very beautiful and nice walking paths.
Its shaded and very clean. I love taking my daughter to play here
We love this shady park in the summer. The new take a book/leave a book library is a nice feature.
This is a great place to take children to play. We were there this time for the LCPD Fall Festival.
Beautiful since the gardens were added. We did homeschool there today and it was perfect.
Love this park. So many shade trees to keep it cool from sun. Great place for kids and covered picnic tables. Also restrooms and drinking fountain.
Overall its a very nice park. We try to get there fairly often. It has lots of shade so it stays cooler during the summer but its a little buggy. The walkways could use work as well and the playground has damage due to the flooding a few years ago. This park needs upgrades done but has tons of potential if they would just keep up with it. The flowers and ferns are beautiful there at least. I made some jewelry with them
Its a great get away but not near as nice as some of the other state parks sc has to offer
If you are in Lexington stop by here with your kids. You will be happy with this new discovery
This park is beautiful. Great for kids and adults. With several picnic areas
A delightful surprise. You wouldnt know a park was there driving by. Its absolutely gorgeous. Peaceful walking trails, creek, trees, playgrounds for all ages. Great for artists. Lovely pavilion for parties with very reasonably priced rental. If you still play Pokemon Go, its a good place to walk around.
I love bringing my kids to this park because it offers amazing shade from the brutal sun, has slides and swings for any age (toddlers to big kids), and has a walking path along the creek. There is also a smaller area at the (Hwy 6 entrance) with swings for children that are unable to access the playground - it has a swing that can accommodate a wheelchair, a swing that a child can be laid down on, etc.. There is also seating around the playground and along the walking path. You can also reserve covered picnic tables or the larger covered area with many tables for birthday parties or events. It is located behind the Lexington Police Department and just a short walking distance to the Icehouse Ampitheater and the many shops and delis on Main Street.
Its a beautiful little park and they have made some beautiful improvement as of late. More improvement is coming. My kids say its their favorite park.
Kids play equipment is nice to have but kids play area needs some work. City is doing great job with remainder of park.
Great park! Always shaded and never crowded. There are several covered areas for lunches or even parties. We have been coming for years. I will say they have really let go of the walking trail... No fish and the waters gross. But still a great park! One of the few that has plenty of swings and monkey bars .
The park is very nice overall. It is clean and provides a lot of shade. However, the playground equipment is old and needs to be updated.
Went to the Kids Day celebration there. Great job by the event coordinators .Kudos for many reasons, including the number of by participants, theirs giveaways and the people serving in the booths. Also wanted to note the layout of booths was amazing. There may have been multipes of one thing but they were spread out far enough to enjoy everything ( particularly the bounce house items). Granddaughter had a blast and was sufficiently worn out. GREAT EVENT... Looking forward to next one
Awesome and clean. Lots to do.
Such an awesome park. Well shaded, swings and slide equipment, monkey bars. Lots of benches for adults. Rest of park features creek, small pond, paved (but bumpy) trail, gazebos and covered bench area.
In the middle of Lexington a quiet place to sit down and think
Absolutely beautiful. Feels super safe.
Not great for a walk, small park and rather hilly. Doesnt seem to be in good repair but they are working on it. Town theater and main streat nearby seem more interesting.
I love this place!
A lot of the slides are tearing up and/or cracked, some of the parts are missing so we just avoided those. They got some questionable decking overing the waterfall it looks nice at first but up close its not up to code. Slides have holes other things are just so rusted they break while children are playing
Very nice..glad to see the improvements near the creek appear 2b finished.
Beautiful morning in a beautiful park here in Lexington! Nice short paved paths thru the trees, sweet creek.
Shady, great for hot summers, in the center of the city
Nice tranquil place
Very peaceful place. Kids love the playground. Very clean and well maintained.
Took good pictures with friends and family good place
