Very peaceful. We walked the trails and saw honey bee hives, nice trees and flowers, and some burrows. At the nature reserve we spent some time with the different owls, falcons, eagle, iguana, snake, etc. There is also a cute turtle pond out front. If you are able to help, please bring cash for donations. It helps them feed the animals.

Wonderful little gem of a park! We explored the trails and so an abundance of wild life. The nature center is only open on the weekends but even without it the park was a dream. Saw around 5 species of turtles in the pond including the large and in charge alligator snapping turtle. All are used to people so they swim right up to you on the dock. The marshland bridges lead you to a marina to catch a view of the main bridge and soaring birds including the osprey. On the way back we came upon a playground with swings and a zip line. Very safe and just enough thrill. Would definitely come back next time we are in the area.

Great little gem with some uncrowded trails and lots of wildlife in a small space. The raptors sanctuary is perhaps a little grim—I understand that the birds have been rescued and have various physical limitations but they are blatantly not very happy in their hot cages. Also the many, many turtles in the pond, while fun to look at, probably don’t benefit from being fed out of plastic cups by visitors (and many plastic cups are discarded in or near the water.) The animal welfare aspect of the park leaves a bit to desire. That aside, the park is a change of scenery and a good place to go for a walk.

My family needed a place to kill some time while we waited for our hotel check in time and we came across the nature park while doing a quick Goggle search and decided to check it out. Im so glad we did! The park is absolutely free to the public and theres so much to see and do! The nature park does accept donations and there is a small little gift shop where you can purchase some little items and all the items are priced amazingly well so it definitely doesnt break the bank. The nature park also hosts birthday parties for an amazing rate as well! I highly recommend anyone check out this park. You will not regret it.

My little, just turned ONE and Ive been bringing him since a few months old....he is in awe of all the nature surrounding him & he loves to swing... & Im pretty sure he wishes he was a tad bigger so he could play more on the playground I wish I could post videos because pictures dont do it any justice! Completely free parking, free entrance and a playground with Zipline and boardwalk in the bay. Watch out for snakes. We saw one but I think it was a yellow rat snake. Do you have children or just love cozy settings to view nature. Well..check this park out! Its small but, mighty. It is a nature habitat for animals native to Florida that have been injured. Your children can view and feed turtles, hawks, eagles, snakes owls. There is a small play area (with a zip line for children ). The trails are surfaced with a rubber recycle blend which makes for a easier, softer walk. There is an outlook/pier that provides a view of the gulf inter-coastal. And best of all it is sponsored by local corporations and it is free! The Narrows is a magical Florida treasure.

Sarge is an amazing piece of freedom. Deal with it.That said, this place has so much to offer for so little of an ask. Beautiful trails, birds, views and time. Driven by the weather and occupied by classes, go there in the off hours and enjoy a peaceful walk and a polite staff.Look at the wide variety of birds they have on site and lose yourself in the gaze of freedom as Sarge locks her eyes onto you and stares in a gaze of pure American Spirit. Her stance will make you fix your posture and her colors will make you scream Im not worthy as she struts through her rehab site. She greets you on your walk through the territory, hoping to catch a glimpse of those fat mermaids grazing in the water. When you leave, she nods in approval as you walk back to your car, leaving nothing but your footsteps and taking nothing but new memories.#FreedomOn

My mother-in-law lives about 2 blocks away from this park and we finally, after 2 years, stopped by one evening. It was awesome!! The owls, the hawks, the turtles... I couldn’t wait to take my daughters up there to feed the turtles. Watching the soft shell turtle is one of the neatest things I’ve ever seen. It looks so prehistoric and they’re big! It was truly one of the best experiences we had while visiting the area. The walking paths are amazing and the birds and manatees at the end of the pier were just remarkable. Nestled right in the backyard (literally, for some people who live next to it!!) of the Largo area is this super cool nature reserve! Its not a huge expense, but it definitely IS a great little habitat nature reserve & walk. Its completely free to visit, but donations are strongly encouraged & I certainly recommend whatever you can to donate is fair, but even if not, theres no cost. They feature a really cool turtle pond right by the entrance, stocked with a TON of turtles that you can feed. You can purchase their feed from the front desk for a very small fee, I believe its 50 cents a cup. More than enough for the kids to enjoy feeding the turtles with. They also have a really nice bird sanctuary with owls, and even a bald eagle. Indoors are a pair of kestrels, snakes & other assorted nature exhibits. The rangers & volunteers are always happy & willing to explain anything about any display or exhibit.Parking is a bit sparse, but thats about the only takeaway. McGough is definitely worth the visit, especially for little ones!
