We live behind the pickleball courts. You people need to set some guidelines,for the people who are utilizing this facility. There is constant cussing and vulgar language used. There are children and older citizens, who pay taxes to the city Lakewood, do not appreciate this unnecessary behavior. If you as the provider can not or will not control this behavior we will start calling the Lakewood Police and reporr this misconduct.

Friendly staff but facility is older.

Working out here is great because you can get in a run or lift to start your day and get going. There are lockers for daily use and communal showers if you dont want to go to work or back home all sweaty. Parking is a challenge due to the size of the lot.

Ive been using the facility for several years and I have never been disappointed. I like that it is not crowded and always kept clean. I recommend GMRC!

Mostly everybody doesn’t follow the rules in regards to wiping down machines After use,especially all the personal trainers. I have encountered dead skin to sweat on the machines that I have to wipe down and off.

A great, well maintained, clean rec center. They have a wide selection of aerobic machinery, weights, basketball courts, racquet ball courts, pt programs and so much more. Also, the employees are always amicable and willing to make friends. Along with all that, they have affordable membership prices considering all they have to offer, and the memberships extend to other recreation centers and pools in the lakewood area.

After being approached aggressively by an older man named Art & having an employee named Jordan stand between me & Art while he was yelling at me & aggressively walking towards me... I am extremely disappointed in this recreation center. After my workout, I attempted to complain to management but was met with a condescending attitude from Sarah Livingston. Its funny how an Individuals attitude changes when cameras are turned on. After Sarah called the police, I simply told the officers what had happened & they replied, Theres a man with an ax running around... we have more urgent matters to handle. I urge people to stay safe & report these types of matters so something can be done.P.S. Art didnt even sanitize after he used the machines.

Normally I have no problem with this rec center but today January 7, 2019 I had a pretty terrible experience. After walking by the racquetball courts there were 4 white men who were discussing real estate in Ohio and one of the men said to the other Who would want to live in Ohio? Then other replied Only blacks. They were all laughing until I asked are you guys serious? I then tried to get one of the staff members involved which was a waste of time because he told the men making the racist comments in the future if your going to joke like that make sure no one hears it. I couldnt believe the employee said that instead of saying we do not tolerate that type of behavior here.I cant honestly recommend Green Mountain Recreation Center to anyone as a good safe place to be.

Beautiful clean facility with friendly staff. As RV travelers, we like to find places like this for exercise, pickleball, or just to take a nice long hot shower and wash hair. We have marked it on our travel route and will be back! $5 adult single day, $4 kids/students/ seniors, $3.75 military.

Great facility when I was growing up and I still continue to come back to play weekly basketball!! It hasnt changed all that much, but their equipment is updated! Great community facility that is heavily involved with the immediate area. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and some have been working there for at least over a decade. Entire facility is well maintained and they just introduced $3 Thursdays! Memberships are a 1/4 of the price than your typical gym like 24/Hr and the atmosphere is 10x more inclusive. If you live in the area I recommend this rec center or any other city of Lakewood managed facility.

I didnt visit the fitness equipment area but the pool was quite nice. Its just a 25m pool so there are longer, nicer, pools in the area but this was clean and had useful hours. I would visit again.

Pool is for the swimmer with lanes. Not a kid pool. Lots of weights and machines. Basketball and racket ball plus many classes available. A great value.

I did two classes and liked both. One was easy cardio and mat exercises and the other was stretching. Most participants were seniors since classes are mid morning on weekdays.

Anita, sounds like you never even got in that day. Try again and youll find very nice laid back people at the desk. Rarely crowded, most times the equipment you want is not busy. But be fair...Id you go and they deserve a better review, make sure you edit your post.

So I dont understand people ..So my brother is honorably discharged from the military ..he served our counrty with his life for all people of color!!!!..so when he hear something racsit and it offends him..and then the men that were speaking that way arent held accountable and...then the employee are not even disgusted by it!!! Is unexcusable ...then!! To top that the police officers are not helpful but exuseing the 4 men that were being rascit is a freaking joke..this is what is wrong with people in this world..!! Looking at people of color like we arent nothing !! Im Latina and proud..and just because are skin isnt white doesnt make us bad or wrong..your rec center is wrong for allowing that behaviour!!! And we are hard working and good people!!!

I joined this gym to play racquetball. It has 4 good courts and one of them is glass! They are nearly always available (though around 5pm its good to call ahead, especially on bad weather days) AND they provide racquets and balls for free for you to use at their gym. Its a great place to get started with the game, and once youve improved, they have leagues to join. Id recommend GMRC.

My friends and I were arguing about movies and cursing quietly and not around children, and they restricted us to most activities available, the staff is rude and there isnt a wide variety of things available to do. If you want to go to a rec center with nice employees, a big pool, and a more wide variety of things to do, go to wheat ridge or Apex rec center.

The chlorine levels were too high in the indoor pool, first degree burns on my face and shoulders for days, other than that nice gym

They keep the smaller areas like the cardio room way too warm. Only 2 fans is not the best choice, especially when its busy. The treadmills cause a lot of static build up and can be very painful. When machines go down, they are usually down for a lot of time. Other than that its what youd expect. They should set some rules for the swim teams in the locker rooms, they can take too much scattered space and make impossible to have any privacy.

Good all-around rec center with basketball court, pool, gym, cycles and racquetball courts. Nothing appears to be very new, but its all in good shape. Ive only been there a few times, but its never been overly busy and the price is reasonable.

Great place to swim, run, and workout. Its not the fanciest place in the world, however, it is kept clean, the staff and other members are always friendly, and it is never crowded. I would recommend this as a great place to workout to anyone that lives in the area.

I go here three times a week. The staff is great and nice pool.

I use the rec center primarily for lap swimming. The pool is a nice 25m pool. During swim team season, lap swimming can be a little limited in peak hours, with just one lane open, but it still never gets too crowded. When 3 lanes are available the rest of the year I usually have a lane to myself.

Quiet most of the time with good quality cardio and resistance machines, however there is a lack of room in the free weights room as well as far too little equipment in regards to extra barbells, plates, etc.Great place to go if youre a casual athlete or just looking for a place to spend excess energy, but dont expect outstanding equipment in regards to weight lifting.Staff is friendly, and there is almost always space to get what you need done.

Loved coming here as a kid... Always had a decent arcade for a bit of messing around, the pool is decent too.

Small facility... We were there for a highschool swim meet and there is little space for the kids swimming let alone the spectators. Staff is wonderful, facility is well kept and clean.

This information is completely inaccurate. This Google listing says that the center was open until 10pm tonight, but when I got there, it was closed. Then their cleaning staff literally laughed at me for showing up after 9pm, and pointed to the door, which says 9pm—as if I should have been able to see their door from home when I was planning my trip. The Green Mountain Rec Centers own web page does say that they close at 9pm, but the next closest center in the Lakewood District, the Carmody Center, says on its own page that its open until 10, and it was closed, locked and dark when I got there at 9:30 tonight. The Lakewood Parks and Recreation District leaves flat-out wrong information on their web pages and other sites (like Google), and their staff are jerks. Exercise anywhere else but here.

Anita is obviously a crybaby that expects too much. Poor baby. GMRC is half the price of anywhere around and the staff are nice as hell. People are friendly there too. I highly recommend checking it out. Sorry but they close during blizzards. Anita likes it in the pooper though

I had the worst experience at this rec center. Not a good place to take kids, but was only option as Link and Carmody were closed. We played with dive rings in kids pool and the life guard came over and said we couldnt use them, only when taking lessons (however there were many left on bottom of pool). What kind of pool doesnt let you use dive rings. Swim instructor was very rude there and did not have a good attitude.
