This recreation center has work out area, offers classes, but best of all is their pools. One large indoor pool and one outdoor pool. There is also a very nice slash pad. The swim lessons for kiddos have always been positive and they are becoming strong swimmers.

One worker is very condescending and has an attitude. She has to be apart of management because their is no other way she should still have her job.

Wonderful facility for all ages. Lots of lap lanes and water aerobics classes and lots of shallow and deep water for open swim. My favorite pool in the area.

Mostly everybody doesn’t follow the rules in regards to wiping down machines After use,especially all the personal trainers. I have encountered dead skin to sweat on the machines that I have to wipe down and off.

My husband and I really enjoy coming here with our little ones. Our toddler and baby enjoy it while we have a date of working out together! Win/win I would add that I think the locker rooms could be cleaner and updated, but it doesnt other us really.

Phenominal gum with a broad range of workout equipment and machines! Very clean facility as well as friendly staff and trainers. Low to medium intensity atmosphere. Great value and quality! :)

Great recreation center, they have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool (currently being renovated because theyre adding a new water attraction outside from when this post is being written.)Large selection of work out equipment, bench press, squat rack, dumb bells, leg press, etc. Lots of cardio equipment, indoor track, basketball court.Also friendly staff. $5 for a day pass.

This is one of the better gyms in the lakewood area. Its unfortunate that most of the others cost about $40 a month where you can get setup on a monthly program here for around $30. They have fitness classes, a nice running track, pools, basketball court and all the premium accommodations of a premium gym without the terrifying price tag. Only thing to watch out for here is the buff seniors who will politely let you share machines and the squat rack.

Carmody has an excellent pool indoors, as well as one outdoors, in addition to a workout area with lots of machines. There is also a nice playground next to it in case you need something to do with little kids. Its a great rec center overall and a good place to get a workout.

I am not a member here and do not live in Lakewood but was there to watch my grandsons youth (5-6 yr. old) basketball game.But while I was there I did notice clean restrooms, ample parking and a friendly staff.Looks like a very nice recreation center.

As a swimmer I’ve always found that this pool is not the best around. The Mesa pool in Grand Junction is great but if you want to stay moderately near you could go to veterans memorial aquatic center, that pool is one of my favorites. If you’re just trying to walk to a pool, carmody is great but there are better ones.

Super place with lots of choices great customer service. Try to avoid locker rooms not kept very clean. Have told them several times but no evidence they ever did anything. I would give 5 stars if locker room was not so dirty.

They have a huge pool, basketball gym, track over it,and okay weight lifting selection. They could have more weights but its still a great place to be a part of. They also have a child care section

This recreation center is very low priced and has a lot to offer from chair yoga to zumba. There is drop in pickleball, and several courts with classes and programs. The weight room is a little small but has a good range of free weights and machines. Staff is available for introduction and assistance. I like the all ages, welcoming atmosphere. Outside a large, fun playground was recently added. There is also an outdoor excercise course with pull up bars and fun kinetic equipment. There is open lawn and a duck pond.

Just like the Whitlock center, also run by the city. FANTASTIC

Love places that have pools

What a great recreation center! Thats true for all the Lakewood rec centers, but especially so for Carmody. They have an Olympic size swimming pool, and also a ton of exercise equipment. They even have an outdoor pool for summer time! Ive been to this rec center three times, and had excellent experiences each time!

I visit Carmody Pool for USA Swimming swim meets. Considerable deck space. If you arrive early, you can camp at some of the picnic tables. There are several short bleachers. I recommend bringing chairs for swim meets. In summer, South side is sometimes open for more space, but it will be in the sun. It does get crowded. There is more parking in lot north of building.

Nice soccer fields, new playground and new restrooms. Havent been inside the rec center in a while so cannot comment on that.

The Silver Sneakers classes are excellent.

If you have friends you enjoy working out with this is not the place for you. If you have someone you like to take to the gym with you I highly recommend 24 Hour Fitness; they have locations at Alameda and Union if you’re south Lakewood, or 64th and Ward if you’re more north.The distasteful and disrespectful manner in which I was approached is not only baffling but completely uncalled for.A word of advice, find a gym with less white privilege.

I love this rec center. It has most everything one could need including a diverse offering of classes and a great staff.

Fun diving boards but sometimes to many people

Great environment w welcoming attitude. The babysitters are excellent and really love the kids. Lots of classes at different times and there is always machines open.

Great park for the kids! We made a picnic lunch and the kids ran wild for 2 hours!

We hold our weekly kayaking classes here on Monday nights. The guards and the managers are fantastic. Great group of people.

Olympic-size indoor pool full capacity weight room and gym basketball courts excetera definitely a great place for the family to have fun and good exercise

Love the 50m pool. Great outdoor pool too. The new playground is awesome! The adult fitness area is surprisingly fun while watching my kids play.

They dont give you your money back if the vending machine takes it, if you lose an item or it gets stolen your screwed cuz they hell very little.

Fantastic 50m lap pool! This is one of the nicest lap pools that I have had the pleasure of using. I didnt visit the rest of the gym.

Good atmosphere and seems to always be busy. Kids like the pool.

My 13 year old son likes coming here to lift weights and exercise. I think this place is ok, but there arent a lot of machines to excise on and if you go here after 5 on a week day its hard to find an open machine.

Carmody lacks useful equipment, which is disappointing when compared to other recreation centers of similar size in neighboring cities. While there is a sizable pool, both indoor and out, larger provisions in regards to weight lifting equipment and even a sauna and/or steam room are things that would improve this center. However, staff is friendly and equipment is well kept and clean

I go weekly for an hour with one of their personal trainers. One of the better and most complete gyms in the area.

My wife and I had a great experience here. There is a bball court, pool and a fitness area with cardio and weights. It was clean and the staff was very nice, especially Cameron, who very graciously took his time to answer all of our questions about the facility.

We go here for Swim lessons and youth sports. The program is great for little little kids and overtime we have enjoyed it. BUT there are no bathrooms on the soccer or T-Ball fields. So you have to let your kids pee outsides or walk them all the way in to the rec center.

Lakewood has the most amazing rec complexes!

This is an awesome playground. We really enjoyed the park.

The life gaurds here are very unfriendly... Also the other day I was in the swim lanes and I was choking on water(which isnt that bad) and both the life gaurd didnt even look at me and one was on his phone.

I cannot say enough good things about this rec center- specifically the programs. Our children participate in basketball, TBall, Swimming Lessons, Soccer and Gynmastics. The programs are extremely well organized, communication is perfect- not too much, not too little, the coaches are excellent and the facilities are great. The youth programs run through the rec centers are a big reason of why we continue to live in Lakewood and have no desire to move outside the community. I am specifically impressed with Karinne Monn. I saw how she interacted with a struggling family last night. She was so compassionate and very vocal that the programs are designed to be successful for everyone. That is very true. Bravo- Carmody Rec center and Lakewood programs as whole. You really make a difference!
