Outside Pickleball courts are great and the people are very nice

My daughter had a volleyball tournament here. The facilities are very nice and the place is well taken care of.

Nice Lakewood recreation center with a good variety of equipment, nice staff and clean locker rooms! Doesnt seem to get too crowded either-shhh, dont tell anyone. I havent tried any of their fitness classes but will soon.

Charles E. Whitlock Rec Center is among the best recreation centers Ive visited. The well-stocked weight room is spacious and has modern equipment. I also enjoyed the basketball courts.

This is great gym. Staff are friendly, equipment clean, and the workout equipment is always available.

I go in for physical therapy . I am always impressed with everything being so clean, neat, and orderly.Other users are friendly and respectful, both of the equipment and each other.I recommend the use of this facility if you want to workout, swim,shoot some hoops, or need rehabilitation .You cant go wrong choosing Whitlock.

Good place for tournaments. Not a good place to come swimming. Brought my kids for a dip in the pool. Not what youd expect. Its more of a therapy pool. Its very small. Water was warm so it worked out great for my one year old.

I got sick from their warm swimming pool. I got a bacterial infection

I go to Whitlock for physical therapy. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. My doctor actually listens and designs treatments specifically for my needs. I really didnt think anyone would do that for a patient. I am so grateful to be able to have a custom made treatment plan that I had a hand in its design. Also I notice that everytime I go, the place is clean, even the bathrooms. The equipment is all in place and aligned perfectly. Since its clean it just makes everyone want to keep it that way. Kudos to Whitlock for being on top of things. Thanks to my doctor for being patient with me in my recovery.

Mostly everybody doesn’t follow the rules in regards to wiping down machines After use,especially all the personal trainers. I have encountered dead skin to sweat on the machines that I have to wipe down and off.

The locker room is overlooked when it comes to cleaning. Ive had to go through 4 or 5 lockers before I can find one that is acceptable. The lockers stick and are often filthy. The showers have flies so I have stopped showering there. Otherwise the sauna is alright, the machines work and the pool is warm.

Great staff with ample amenities.

This is the only Lakewood gym set up for Olympic lifts. The weight room is never crowded, but I go early morning or late evening.

Very well equipped and maintained. I think this is one of the best facilitys i have seen. Staff is friendly snd helpful. They keep the plave very clean.

There is a fantastic playground and park located outside the Rec center. I love bringing my children here. The fountain doesnt work, and there is no porta-john located at the park, however there are restrooms located in the Rec center. There are two baby swings, and it uses mulch instead of gravel or sand. Small wall runs around it. Lots of grass behind and beside the playground. Great place! Editing to add 2 things: that the fountain DOES work, it seems they turn it off from time to time. Not sure why. It also has a down spout for your dog! (Or to fill a jug, etc.) I love this park and come here all the time. And...If you are a Jeffco resident and have low-income, ask about the Possibilities Grant! When approved you only pay 25% of the fee of any program the rec center offers under the grant, up to $300 *per person* in your household! I was approved in less than 24 hours and it was a simple application I completed in 5 mins online. Through this program we will be able to do stuff all through the year to be active and healthy. With kids, this is huge! It costs nothing to apply. The approval is good through 12-31-19, and then you may reapply. It excited me so much I wanted to make sure everybody knows!!

Nice facilities, I use therapy pool. Its small but comfortable temps. Showers though can be hard to get hot water.

Great Place and lots of activities going on. The Wifi is good and the equipment is kept in good shape. Its always clean and they keep up with their shoveling during the snow so its easy to get back and forth to the parking area. The staff is attentive and very helpful. Its the kind of facility that the City can be proud of.

Excellent Cardio and weight equipment. The pool is so small as to be useless. The classes are too crowded. Friendly staff and very well maintained facility.

Facilities are fairly extensive which is nice. The only thing I dont like is the pool hours. If they would keep it open longer, I, personally would frequent here more often. Other than that, its a good place with much versatility.

This place is wonderful!! It is exceptionally clean. The locker rooms are nice, the courts are huge, and I love the separate weight lifting room. (Also clean & cheeeful). *I was one of two people there, and wanted to dance & frolic because I am so tired of crowded gyms.And a shout out to the front desk staff - very kind!! I forgot my student ID and only had 4$. He let me in anyway(hope I dont get you in trouble). But I appreciated it SO much. Ive been recovery from an injury and desperately needed a work out....Ill be back for sure

Excellent layout and availability of cardio equipment and weight room. The weight room is in a separate room from the cardio equipment so noise is less of a concern. 3 squat racks means plenty of availability to do your routine.

The facility is great. Gym has so many different types of sports for all ages and I have to say the system for membership passes is ideal for anyone who has a busy schedule but likes to hit the gym.

Excellent, clean and not overcrowded. Basketball, Badminton courts. Expert level weight room. Variety of exercise equipment for most if not all routines.

I play here in the basketball league, tue is rec, thur is competative. Awesome leagues, consistent refs and nice people run the league. Court is well kept

For what they charge I can get a membership to the YMCA. Thats financial rape!!!!!Seriously its a public rec center.Maybe Im just crazy, BUT IN ALABAMA PUBLIC RECREATION CENTERS ARE FREEYOU PAY FOR PRIVATE RECREATION CENTERS !!!!!!!!!

The receptionist was rude, got hassled for using grip chalk (even though we made it a point to clean it up afterwards), and was yelled at for slamming weights on the platform. Why even have a platform if you cant slam weights on it? As a member of the US Olympic Weightlifting team, I know for a fact that you CAN and SHOULD be able to slam weights on a platform. Not only do you run the risk of seriously injuring yourself while carefully trying to set down 300 pounds from above your head, but if their platform is not able to withstand that type of stress, its not a platform, and it shouldnt be made to look like one. I will never return to this facility again!

Fun clean space. Small pool but heated to 93 degrees. Feels great on the bones.

I love this place. It is very cozy and makes me feel as if I can just go in there and do what I need to do comfortably. Staff is great, equipment is clean and location is very easy to get to.

Really nice place with lots of activities. I visit when Im in town to workout and/or play Pickleball.

Great Recreational facility, free weights, Universal machines, small pool for therapy and water aerobics. Basketball courts, racquetball courts, spin bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills, aerobics and Zumba classes. This place has it all and at very affordable prices.

Nice facility, clean although not the friendliest or welcoming people at the front desk. You would think they would get a clue from the Walmart greeters.

Really love this rec center. Used to go to the Wheat Ridge rec on 40th and Kipling but found the amenities and quality of courts to be better here -- specifically the basketball and racquetball courts.

Everything is great I can go work out amazing and its close to me so I can keep going the next day there polite and everything is clean love it.

It was so good to go there I am a much better person for it

Its alright.everything is fun .but there isnt multiple baketball games.just one at a time n you have to wait a long time just to play a game and other people that already play would join.we had to wait hours to play a game.rude people only at the basketball courts.not fun to play basketball
