Beautiful prairie! Hiked all day long with boyfriend and dogs. Bring lots of water! Nice long loops and well marked trails. Loops high above tiger creek. Even has benches for your viewing pleasure. Being able to look down at the winding creek is breathtaking!

I went in 1st time about 6 days ago. The 1st bench was a little worn out but not bad I still used it and was fine, I came back in 2 days later the bench had been changed out for a brand new one. So I have to say up keep is very well maintain, and the walk along the creek is just absolutely beautiful.

My wife and I had a lovely time hiking the Creek Bluffs Loop trail today (5/26/18). The part of the trail that runs along the creek was our favorite but the entire trail is lovely. We encountered a mosquito or two but no ticks. We heard a gator in one of the wet areas but never saw him. There were a lot of deer tracks but we didnt see them either. A Bald Eagle was flying in the distance and plenty of other smaller bird life abounds.I suggest setting up a hammock among the trees along the creek, bring a good book, and relax for awhile - we did. This is a real Polk County gem. Special thanks to The Nature Conservancy for making this available to us.5/28/18 edit: The day following our visit, we developed multiple unpleasant welts on the lower half of our body that I am quite sure are from chiggers that we never even saw. This is even though we both showered after returning home from the trail. Based on the timing of everything, it appears that the chiggers survived the shower process. I may be wrong on that but I am going to scrub much harder next time! Ill also be using some bug spray around my ankles the next time I hit the trail. Dont let this discourage you. The trail is worth it. You just need to take the proper precautions.

Very cool place to go, we did the trail on Wakeford road, at the Northeast end of the preserve area. We got some good pictures of a bald eagle in its nest and had a wild pig walk out right in front of us! I was scared, my wife was not it was amazing to see everything basically undisturbed. The water was a deep red color (tannens from the trees?) and the creek was winding right along the creekside bluff trail, not 100% of the time, but you get to see some gorgeous landscape along the creek.

I absolutely love this place. It has so much variation and is hilly which you dont see much in florida trails. There are several trails here that are decent in length. The shortest one walks you through the woods along a creek then loops around into the hills. The highland trail is one of my favorite just be prepared to get your feet wet. Might want to think about some muck boots. Last few time I have been there portions of the trail are under 6 Inches of water but very much worth soaking your feet for. Make sure you push through the wet areas to Trishas peak its worth it if you are a nature lover. All In all if you love to hike and havent been here yet your missing out. I highly recommend this place. If you take 60 east through lake wales watch for the walk-in-water rd (you really cant miss it) turn right then its about 2 miles or so you will see a brown hiking sign turn right there(forgot the name of the road) and you will run right into it. Enjoy

Was difficult to discern the trail route. Sand trail. Ended up at a dead end instead of a loop. Still beautiful scenery to look at though.

A great addition to The Nature Conservancys, Tiger Creek Preserve trails! The Creek Bluffs Loop Trail follows the ancient sand bluffs of Tiger Creek and then through pristine longleaf pine sandhills. The park is open to the public during daylight hours. This particular trail is only 2.6 miles but is connected to miles of other trails.
