Great camping experience for our family! We loved the trails we could hike, the observation tower, the playground, and the peacefulness. The campsites vary in size. But our campsite had plenty of room for a family of five. Restroom facilities were clean.Lots of wildlife to see! Deer walking through the campgrounds daily! We will definitely be back!
Beautiful park! Definitely in a secluded area and didnt have much of a WiFi signal. Not a big deal to us though. Sites vary in size, but there are plenty of bigger sites. Most sites have a nice amount of privacy too! Bathhouses are clean and well kept. Like the bench down the whole side for convenience. The one thing I didnt care for is the bathhouses seemed to be closed more than they were open. I saw that being an issue for the tent and pop-up campers that needed to use the facilities; especially with children. Got to see some deer as well. Loved how they left the larger tree trunks around the campgrounds and within the sites!! Gave extra photo opportunities. Had clean washer and dryer too! Really was a beautiful park and enjoy ourselves!
We stayed at the park about a month ago, it was a great experience. The spots are secluded and there was a lot of wildlife. We even saw a coral snake! The bathhouses were incredibly clean and maintained often although the sewage overflowed and caused the bathhouses to close our last day. The most incredible thing was the camp host Jason. Not only does he keep the bathhouses beautifully clean he went above and beyond for me. I had lost a pearl earring in the shower but didn’t notice before the sewage issue. He went in with a flashlight through the sewage and found my earring. He sanitized it and brought it back to me. You don’t meet ppl like this everyday, someone who will go out of their way for a stranger. I highly recommend this park although WARNING IF IT IS GATOR SEASON THE AIRBOATS ARE LOUD AND THEY ARE OUT ALL NIGHT AND MORNING.
My FAVORITE place to go camping. Ive been here more than 10 times probably over the last few years and I love it. The campgrounds as well as bathrooms are clean, and nice. All the other guest have been friendly and helpful during our stay. Theres lots to do while youre there from fishing to visiting the old cowboy camp. Definitely would recommend for a day trip or longer!
Boat basin and boat ramp is completely blocked by over grown aquatic vegetation... Park rangers are not informing visitors of such when they enter the park even when pulling a boat... This is ridiculous and the worst I have ever seen it... My whole family camps the entire week of Thanksgiving ... We usually occupy 6-7 campsites and bring 3-4 boats every year and have been doing this for 20+ years I dont know what the problem is but it needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP
This is our favorite central Florida campground. The sites are pretty, shaded and offer privacy. There is a lot of wildlife to see and hear. The bath houses are very well maintained. The staff and hosts are super friendly.
Very clean and well maintained state park. We trailer camped for two nights. The camping spots were laid out well, almost all had nice shade, and stands of trees between the sites that made them very private. The picnic area was nice and large, plenty of parking. Good fishing. Kayak/canoe rentals on site. Small camp store. Plenty ofvteails for hiking, trail biking, and horse riding as well. We saw a lot of wildlife. No swimming or cell service at this park.
I loved the place. We left because of ETA they had to close. Eric
A beautiful and interesting Florida state park located in Lake Wales, FL. Large crushed shell sites were very level. Gorgeous live oak trees draped with moss gives an exotic feel to the campground. Clean, modern bathhouse. My favorite part was the Cow Camp, an historically accurate pioneer camp with an interpretive guide on weekends. A must see. This is a large, paved park so bring your bikes and golf carts. Its no actually on Lake Kissimmee so check for public boat launches.
I really love this place, its amazing and gives such a breath of fresh air. There are wild animals, trails to walk or ride your bike through, you can go Camping, they have this Equine Camp thing in the back which is pretty nice, you can rent a kayak to explore with friends or alone, and my most favorite bit of this whole place.. You can come here to fish. It has a beautiful, big and plentiful lake and canal reaching pretty far back where many airboats can be heard rampaging through the waters. There are a whole bunch of different spots to fish at so you dont get stuck in one spot with a bunch of people, and the biting aint too shabby either. The park area where the fishing and kayaking take place has a little store and bathrooms. Its honestly probably, in my opinion, the best place to go to get out of the ever growing cities and just get away from it all and be with nature. See the beauty.
Beautiful natural Florida, a great place for hiking. Easy to see bald eagles and deer.
Lake Kissimmee State Park is my favorite park so far. It is located in the middle of nowhere. No traffic to be heard. The drive from the gate to the Campground is three miles of spectacular views. Wildlife is abundant here including deer, tortoises, rabbits, turkeys and numerous other birds. Excellent fishing on Lake Kissimmee. There are two campgrounds with a total of 60 campsites. Campground host at each campground. Area is well maintained and the bathrooms super clean. A must visit park to unwind for a couple of days.
Love this place ! Very Clean ! Friendly and inattentive staff! Peaceful! I will come back to camp here no doubt! Lee Goodson and I had an awesome time together will be a great memory for us!
Loved it. The trails are clearly marked and well kept. The lady at the front gate was very nice and knowledgeable. I knew right off we were in a good place. For once the map was pretty accurate.
Dock area is way over grown. Cant even see the water.
Great place to relax and get away from city, traffic and the fked up people
Our getaway spot! Love camping and fishing there. Would give 5 stars if the canal was cleaned out so you could access the main lake.
Nice park park, well kept trails and lake access. The park area has a nice playground, gazebos, and a lookout tower. The primitive campsites are great they have picnic tables, fire rings and plenty of area flat area to put your tent. Call ahead to book the primitive sites and make sure to check in and out at the ranger station.
Quiet hiking trails and observation tower. Camping seems quiet, too. Closest hike to the Lake is a little ove one mile. This is an awesome place to ride your bike!
Very nice place. Reasonable cheap place to camp. Plenty of trails to walk. Fishing and canoeing. Playground for the little kids.
Overall this park is part of the priceless wealth of what America truly is.
It is a beautiful place to go camping.I go there a lot.
Great campground if you want shade and privacy. Good spacing between most sites. Water and electricity. No cable or sewer at site. Dump station access to water. Cell reception not great but ok. Lots of over air tv. channels
Very nice campground, well shaded, plenty of places of interest in area. Water and electricity. Dump station only negitive
Been here several times. Lots of wildlife. We have used one of the primitive sites to camp a couple times too. Though it is a few miles from the parking area, so bring enough water. Fees are reasonable and they allow your (behaved) dog so long add its utd on rabies. The rangers are prompt and polite should you have an issue as well. We only had a problem once and it was with another guest who was throwing trash out the window of his vehicle, not with the park itself. Great place to visit.
Such a wonderful campground! Private, clean. The bathrooms are so clean.Very old world Florida. If you have kids, there is a play ground and plenty of paths to ride your bike on or walk along.Very friendly staff. Youd be very happy camping here in a tent or RV.
Only spent one night there but was impressed with the campground. Good place to launch a boat and do some fishing. Clean restrooms and showers.
Nice campground. Interesting cow camp trail with period information. My son really enjoyed the fishing lesson done by the rangers. They did a top notch job and taught knots, casting, fish ID and basics. Bonus: he caught his first fish! Well kept campsites and facilities.
Beautiful environment with alot to do!
First time camping here, and I must admit it was a great experience. The real Florida atmosphere. Clean showers and bathrooms. Power hook up, and water at the site.
Great Camping with Wild turkeys and deer wandering around
Amazing park! It has everything to do. Camp sites are excellent! Cow camp must be visited.
If youre RV has two a/c units, it will only run one because they have 30 amp with 110 voltage and a boat is needed to fish from the lake.
Off the beaten path but definitely worth a visit. Camping 2 nites here delightful and clean large bathroom with Hot shower. My husband loved this huge quaint Campground with a great rangeWill. Be back for sure next year
A gem of Florida.......Very limited internet.....some Wifi at camp store......Lots of wildlife.....GREAT Mexican food at La Botana store/cantina 20 min away.....
We absolutely love Lake Kissimmee state park it is our favorite park in Florida the sites are always well maintained the restrooms are clean. The park staff are always so helpful and friendly and the wildlife is phenomenal great place to stay for some peace and quiet!
Quiet and Serene. It was a nice camping trip for the weekend. I brought my puppy and she roams around everywhere.
Camping tradition for us! I have been camping here for 25+ years. LKSP is by far the most beautiful and natural state park Ive seen.
One of the nicest parks weve visited so far. We will definitely be back for a longer visit.
Such gorgeous trees and good fishing!
One of my favorite campgrounds to visit every year. I love the beautiful plant life & cascading trees. We had a level, partially shaded, spacious campsite. Clean bathrooms.
Great hiking trails. Pleasant staff. Clean restrooms, laundry facilities.A wild pig (I guess, he was hiding in the tall brush) snorted at us when walking on the green flare path by the lake. Never saw him. There are alligators but we never encountered one.
A very nice camp. Most spaces are fairly private with plenty of separation. Wild life is all over to watch. The only problem for some is... no cell coverage.
Love this place, only one gripe and that is that their power grid needs work.
This park is very well maintained. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to camp and fish. If you visit during the warmer months bring plenty of mosquito spray.
This place is definitely worth an overnight camping trip.
Great place to camp but know its plumb in the middle of nowhere. Make site you have everything you need, closest grocery store is 30 minutes away.
Off the beaten path, so quiet.Old Florida hammock scenery, a beautiful park.Did not have a boat rode bicycle trails. North loop very nice, packed trail, nice ride. Most sites very large, level, and very well kept. Will definitely go back!
Beautiful park! We saw deer, Turkey, gopher tortoises, many varieties of birds. Trails are well marked. Campground is very clean. Large spaces with privacy. Bathrooms/showers are very clean.
Nice place for camping not big but the trails are good
Very peaceful. Definitely coming back
Nice park, big lake, fishing, hiking and wifi. What more do you need. Bring a bike if you can.
Was a great experience!! Excellent place to camping. Since the Sir who take your check in until the area to camp. It has water, camping table, electricity.
If you live in the city, and just want to get away to so quiet place . See deer and all other animals. It is a very good place to go. Camping is great there to.
Fun place to stay and clean. Shower set was excellent
I was disappointed in this park. The park attendant was very nice and welcoming. The park was clean and restrooms accessible. My disappointment was the actual park. I saw some markings of the trails but other than that the trails were not marked much. There was one small area that had only a few older pieces of play equipment. The campground did not have drinking water accessible. The lake could only be viewed from a viewing tower. I understand it is a nature park but it looked more like a step up from a farmers property located close to a lake. The mouth of the river is accessible and there were a few fisherman. There were a few nearly dried streams. The park advertisement described a variety of wildlife. We saw more wildlife while driving to the park than we did in the park. While in the park we saw one turtle and a few birds. In my opinion it was not worth the five dollars it cost to enter.
Great campground! The park is fun, go see the cow camp. Camp sites are secluded so youre not having coffee with the neighbors.
Great place for hiking and taking the dog.
Great family outdoors trip!
Quiet park off the beaten path. Rangers are very friendly, clean facilities and great bike riding. Cow camp is definitely interesting. I would stay here again.
Very nice, sites 6 and 9 very large.
Good park it have bathrooms and a shop, boat ramp facilities, great campgrounds at affordable prices with water and electricity
Great place for hiking, but only recommend to hike during the cooler months of the year. Want to avoid crowds and enjoy nature? Then this park is for you. Excellent place to spot Bald Eagles, Red-headed Woodpeckers, Sandhill Cranes, Ospreys, Armadillos, Wild Boar, White-tailed Deer, Raccoons, and many other animals. As you hike, camp, and explore this state park, its like stepping back in time to Old Florida before Disney and the many theme parks. Well worth your visit, but again strongly suggest visiting during cooler weather. Im sure its miserablely hot, hummid, and buggy in the summer. Make sure you check out the Cow Camp. Enjoy your visit!
Great campground. Very clean and quiet
Beautiful campground! Serene and clean, well stocked restrooms, hot showers. Would definitely recommend. Wi-Fi connection not so good, but attainable in certain areas. Love it here!
Love it...great day, I will be back
It was absolutely beautiful! Felt like being in a forest park. We had deer every morning right behind our campsite!
Great place to go with the family
Nice park with a great campground.
Nice state park to go to. Theres a watch tower that looks out over a prairie and lake Kissimmee where Ive seen wild horses and turkeys. Theres also a canal that is close to the welcome center that can be walled or canoed.
Great please nice and quiet.well go back soon
Lake Kissimmee State Park is a 5,930-acre (24 km²) Florida State Park located on State Road 60, 15 miles (24 km) east of Lake Wales. It contains floodplain, forest, prairie, hammock, flatwoods and Lakes Kissimmee, Tiger, and Rosalie. The park is home to 50 species of plants and animals that are either threatened, of special concern or endangered
Beautiful campsites. Very family friendly campground with clean bathrooms and hot water.
It was nice and private and remote. You werent on top of each other which was good in one way but it was so far to get to anything and I just wasnt feeling it this weekend. I cant wait to go back when Im feeling well. No data available until 10am-10pm Fri - Sun at store.
First time here. We will be back for many years to come. Lots to do, if you enjoy being outdoors. Nature at its finest.
Nice park and campground. Campground and bathhouse were immaculate.
Nice camping location. Big and clean sites. Nice walking paths also.
Pretty wildlife, fishing was aweful
Huge, beautiful park, so many old trees. The camping area was packed. However, flat like most Florida parks, so no real hiking. Dont like the mosquitos and the other bugs - way too many
Florida recommended trails
This park is a super place to camp because of the natural growth between campsites. The Cow Camp is a treat but only between weekends of October and May (also holidays).
Beautiful experience, nice host campers, huge watch tower and sugar sand trails.
Very scenic state park. A lot of trails. Clean and well maintained.
The place is good for an excursion or camping. Large space for organization of the main event with electrical connections and wide natural beauty. I did not like that there were many wasps and they were very large, just in the place of the main event.
Camp sites are awesome with tent areas away from fire ring. Will return
Very nice park I did not get into camping area. But My friends were happy.
Our first trip in our new camper, and what a wonderful experience! Such a great time with my wife, and the dogs loved it too. The camping loops at Lake Kissimmee are in a dense hammock, and most sites seem to offer privacy. Nice, clean facilities, and plenty of wildlife (we saw armadillos, a possum, a large turtle, and dozens of hawks). Jerome the Armadillo seemed particularly fond of our campsite, wandering through numerous times during our three nights in the wild.
Was very unhappy with the trails here. They are very poorly marked. This is mostly the case with the buster island loop. Spent alot of time trying to figure out which way to go with all the unmarked service roads that cross the trail. The best part about this hike was all the wildlife that I encountered. Lots of deer, turkeys and even saw a bobcat. That made up for some of the aggravation. The trail was pretty well maintained for the most part but would recommend sticking to the north loop trail
Australian beautiful location
Nice ramp and dock. Good camp store and facilities.
Very impressed with this Park. Very well maintained, clean. Excellent facilities. Trails are all well marked. Lots of wildlife. Will definitely return.
Great place for primitive camping
Great place to camp. If youre a veteran with disability they will let you in Park free of charge be sure to ask
This is a very tranquil place, full of natures beauty and life and history.
Beautiful beautiful area
Its okay. I guess I just expected more. The state parks in upstate NY are way better. They have places to hunt, fish, walk trails, swim, large BBQ areas, play parks for kids and e events. Lake Kissimmee is just one road and is very limited with what you can do. Its also not very handicap accessible
